This property has been in our family for over 100 years and has special meaning for all of us. We have grown up vacationing in the 1000 Islands and have come to appreciate all that it has to offer.
The front porch of the cottage overlooks a bay off of the St Lawrence River. There are many islands visible from the front porch including Grindstone, Wolf and Hemlock Islands. The cottage is set in a wooded environment with an abundance of wildlife such as deer, mink and raccoons.
Beautiful old home, well stocked with everything you might need. The only drawback is the hill and perhaps for old people like me, the stairs. Overall great. We enjoyed our vacation there.
I was here in 1958 when I was 11 with my family and 2 others. There were 6 parents and 14 kids. We were there the entire month of July. The fathers left after two weeks and must have left us with a lot of food. The other families left sooner and then my cousins came for a few days. It was heaven. Would love to return!! The water was wonderful for swimming. We went off on our own in boats and explored. i had to put 7/1/15 as my date of visit but it was 57 years earlier!
We were there on LAbour Day week end and we had really appreciate the cottage.
We found a spacious cottage with great wrap a round patio. This cottage is a great place for group or family vacation.
Thanks to Marshall's family, We really enjoy our trip on Bostwick Island!
