Jeanette Preis purchased this house in 2004
This has been my home for 12+ years. It is unique, beautiful and as you can tell, I'm 'house-proud'. Whether you're coming to Toronto for short-term or long-term, you will be incredibly comfortable...
Read my reviews! This home is luxurious, private and with a fantastic location! Wonderful restaurants are steps away, and you'll never wait more than 30 seconds for a taxi right out front. An excellent location for the Toronto International Film Festival, all of Toronto's live theatre venues or any of the central Toronto hospitals.
We spent 3 weeks in Jeanette's condo and it was wonderful. The pictures of the condo and the narrative accurately describe the condo and the location. It was very clean and neat and near restaurants, markets, and the subway, which can take you to all parts of the city. Jeanette was very helpful and a perfect hostess. If we have the good fortune to return to Toronto in the future, we would really like to rent this property again. It had everything we needed and wanted and met all of our expectations. Really nice!!
I stayed at Jeanette's wonderful first floor rental for a few weeks in late April 2016 for a bit of a getaway. She was an absolutely fantastic host - extremely helpful and welcoming. Everything you need in a rental. Very comfortable bed, great bathroom and warm living room. The location is great - very close to restaurants, food shopping, pharmacy, etc. Streetcar transit to downtown steps away. I highly recommend staying at Jeanette's.
We stayed at Jeanette's beautiful main floor rental for two weeks in April 2016. She was an incredible host always responding quickly to any of our questions. Check in and check out couldn't have been more smooth and she was flexible with our check-out time (which was very helpful!). The unit itself is well-laid out and wonderfully cozy. The bathroom is HUGE and the bed is comfortable. The kitchen, while petite, is functional and we cooked some great meals in it. There is a beautiful walk-out patio that is also private. In terms of area, you don't get much better. We walked everywhere and there are 50 restaurants a mere 5-10 minute walk away. If you are looking for somewhere to call home while you're in Toronto, look no further. You will love this place!
First I would to say “ditto” to all the positive comments made already about the location, the shops and restaurants and the townhome itself. It was amazing. I would like to add that the bed including the linens was wonderful. Part of my vacation was to take naps at will and I couldn’t have found a better place to do this! I loved the kitchen. Jeanette was correct about the looks initially being misleading. The counter is very deep with plenty of room and all the needed gadgets and dishes were there. The layout in the bathroom made my time there a pleasure compared to most hotels and other places I have rented. There were additional corner shelves in the shower, shelves above the toilet, the sink and a small piece of furniture with spacious shelving also. So in addition to the obvious location and the lovely townhome in general there were so many small features that simplified my stay. I strongly recommend it and hope to go back again and again!
I was back in Toronto for a university reunion and I also wanted to catch up with a lot of friends. I stayed 2 weeks in the apartment and it suited my needs perfectly! It gave me a great home base. I liked being on the King St streetcar line. Good shops and restaurants in the area. The apartment is cozy, well furnished, everything you could need. Nice walk north to Trinity Bellwoods Park, and next to the park a wonderful patisserie called Nadege. Jeanette was easy to contact and very responsive to any inquiries I had. I would definitely return to this rental.
My husband and I have visited Toronto many times, but we've never rented an apartment. With our two pugs in tow, we decided a hotel room was out of the question. Jeanette's place was perfect - living room, galley kitchen, and bedroom with a queen size bed.
There are many good restaurants in the area, all within a 5 - 20 minute walk (check out Ossington St.). The King St. W. street car runs right by the place, so you can hop on and get almost anywhere, especially if you are willing to make a transfer. We either walked or took public transportation to the ballet, a play in the Younge-Bloor area, the Kensington Market, Roy Thompson Hall, and the legendary Horseshoe Tavern.
Our senior dogs really liked the apartment too. It was on the ground floor, so no stairs, and best of all, it was steps from Stanley Park. Leashed dogs are welcome in all areas, and there's even an off-leash section.
For around $23 CAD, you can buy a pass from the city that enables you to park on Stafford St. for the week (https://secure.toronto.ca/wes/eTPP/welcome.do). You can park on King St. on the weekend for free.
It's cozy, it's convenient, and we are looking forward to a return visit soon!
