3 Bedroom 2 and 1/2 Bath in Western North Carolina Mountains
About Scott Emory
Welcome to our site. We are Crystal and Scott Emory. We purchased the property in 2006. With encouragement from our neighbors and friends, we decided in the fall of 2012 to offer our escape from reality to others.
Scott Emory purchased this Cabin in 2006
Why Scott Emory chose Robbinsville
We were looking for a weekend getaway in the Smokey mountains to ride our motorcycles. We found a property advertised as a former trout farm. After the first visit, we were hooked! We were not looking for two houses, but we could not pass on this property. Our dog Charlie loves the property as well, so we had to give up the motor cycles so he could come along!
What makes this Cabin unique
Miles of old logging roads to walk, or ride ATV's. Located on a stocked trout stream if you like fishing, or just relaxing on the deck overlooking the stream. Nearby the scenic Cherohala Skyway, Joyce Kilmer State Park, Lake Santeetlah, Fontana Lake, and The Tail Of The Dragon.

The cabin and stream were amazing.... my family had a great time..... went hiking, shopping, sight seeing, and the kids enjoyed themselves playing in the stream with our dog..... we will go back again next year.... this was our 3rd year we stayed....
Very nice, relaxing, can’t wait to go again!

Peaceful escape into nature
Took a short trip with the large, extended family to Emory Lodge. The place was wonderful for such a gathering!
Unfortunately, I fell ill on the drive down. Fortunately, the beds were wonderfully comfortable and the upstairs rooms were just about sound proof. I cracked the balcony door open to listen to the sounds of the rushing stream and slept and slept and slept..
It was a good space for everyone to spread out. For a family of cooks we found the kitchen well stocked if maybe a bit awkward. Although, that is more about too many cooks in there then the space itself.
The real gem of this place is the lovely stream and the back porch that overlooks it. Most of the family spent 80% of the time on said porch and in said stream. The kids, as noted in other reviews, loved finding salamanders, crawdads and other macro invertebrates.
Heck, so did all the adults.
The whole backyard is covered in moss, bringing to mind fairy tales. Watching the mists slowly rise after the heavy rain one afternoon lulled the entire group into a peaceful silence.
Do be aware that the owners have a small home right beside the lodge. While they were not there while we stayed, it is worth mentioning that you may have some wonderful neighbors during your stay.
All in all, highly recommend!
Nature at its finest!
This property is perfect if you are wanting the solitude of nature and fishing. We have two boys and the MOMENT we pulled up, they were running with their poles to the creek (which is literally a few feet from the residence). The owners (Scott & Crystal) are the perfect hosts when guiding you to hiking and fishing suggestions. Definitely worth a second visit!
Had a wonderful time at Emory Lodge. Property is gorgeous and the owner is GREAT!! Loved everything about it.
