Lovely place with plenty of room.
My entire family celebrated thanksgiving at this lovely property. The home is a beautiful historic gem. The best thing about it for us was the great outdoor space. We had lots of kids between the ages of 2 and 17. They spent 90 percent of the time running around outside. The teenagers hung Eno hammocks from the trees and thought it was amazing. The toddlers played on the swings and in the playhouse as well as ran all around the open fields. It was perfect for them. It was nice that the house has three living rooms for people to be able to have space to chat or just get away and read. All in all a great experience. Thank you Laurie for letting us celebrate at this beautiful place.
I am so happy you all enjoyed your stay! Thank you for your nice review and please stay with us again.
Great place for a family gathering
We rented this home for our family to gather for our son’s wedding. It was a perfect fit! Plenty of space for our 5 sons and their wives/girlfriends. We were even able to host the rehearsal dinner on the property. The grounds were beautiful and we really enjoyed looking out on the pool. Only thing that would have made it better would have been warm enough weather to enjoy the pool, but it was November!
What a beautiful property. We had such a wonderful stay and looking forward to booking again for our next reunion.
Beautiful, historic retreat. Even better than pictured!
This property is absolutely gorgeous and the grounds are beautiful and private. This is a well-equipped and updated historic home. The interior is even more spacious than it appears in pics and there are lots of outdoor spaces where you can gather together or spread out. As others have mentioned, the room with the twin bed is very small and barely fits more than the bed but this was fine for our purposes. The home has been well taken care of and contains all the modern conveniences needed. It's also full of anything you might need from cooking supplies to cards and games. We did not have any issues with the Keurig and there were k-cups available when we arrived. The home is also full of family mementos and antiques but it feels very comfortable and inviting. The pool is very large and private with lounge chairs and seating around the pool. We also loved hanging out on the upstairs and downstairs porches. The home is not located near downtown but nothing it too far away. There are several grocery stores and restaurants a short drive away. We cooked most of meals onsite, but did venture out to a restaurant one night. Overall this is an amazing and unique property. I felt completely honored and lucky to stay in this gorgeous, historic home. This is honestly one of my favorite rentals and I'm completely in love with this place!

Definitely worth considering...
Definitely worth considering if you have a large group and/or are looking for a period property in a secluded countryside location. It's within an hour's drive of Charlotte. The house is large and full of character. The pool is a great addition and well maintained. The property manager was very helpful. Would definitely visit again.
Thank you so much for your review! Please visit us again. You guys were great guests!
Perfect location and house for bridesmaids
This is a classic farmhouse in a beautiful country setting. It is truly like being in someone's cozy home. We hosted the ladies bridal luncheon here and had the bridesmaid stay here. I would recommend a new coffee maker since it did not work. We made a trip to Starbucks instead! The pool is fabulous although we really didn't use it much due to the wedding activities. There are a lot of personal items of the deceased owners which was a bit odd. Nonetheless, I would love to come back here with family to enjoy this beautiful setting!!!
Laura, Thank you so much for your nice review! I am so glad you enjoyed our home and our property. I am so sorry if the coffee maker was not working. We always check it before check ins and it was working. We will look into that ASAP. This home is a family home that is still used by our family so I’m not sure what items you might be referring to from a deceased owner. If you’re referring to items in the bathroom drawers etc. those things are provided for our guests in case they forget something.
We really hope you will visit us again! Once again thank you so much for your kind review!
