Elegant 1600+ SqFt Home w/ Screened Porch, Wood Fireplace Operated by Locals
About Damon Rogers
Welcome! We are Damon and Mark Rogers, the grateful custodians of Damon's family home where we retired in 2000 after 30 years of Navy life. Mark is a retired Naval Officer, and we have been very fortunate to have lived and travelled all over the world. The family home was built in 1919 and Generals Retreat and Captains Quarters (VRBO Listing #496791), two of our rental properties located behind the Big House, were originally built in 1970 as a guest home and office suite. Much of the surroundings you'll see when staying at one of our vacation rentals in Franklin have been gradually collected during our Navy years and represent our strong Southern heritage and love of antiques.

What makes this Cottage unique
This charming guest home is situated at the back of the property of our original 1919 historic home, Stone Oaks. Step inside and you will feel right at home. The cherished family heirlooms - both furniture and art - each have their own story to tell. The plantation shutters throughout give homage to the Charleston, SC heritage and afford gorgeous views from throughout the home. The screened-in porch and outdoor patio overlook a 3-board fenced side yard where you can enjoy games of badminton or cornhole, or simply sit in the yard in Damon's grandmother's glider and chairs under the oldest Elm Tree in Williamson County. We believe that this property is the best kept secret in Franklin and are delighted to share it with you. This guest home was built as a home and has all the amenities of a bigger house on a smaller scale. This property sleeps 4 but adjacent to Generals Retreat is Captains Quarters (VRBO Listing #496791), which sleeps 2, and both can be booked for a total of 6 people.

A beautiful location in a wonderful neighborhood that was perfect for walking our dog or sitting outside at day's end. Super friendly hosts. Cleanliness of apartment was suspect.
Only one bathroom was a little inconvenient.
Was surprised to receive glowing and kind words yet receive a not so kind review. Sorry that you did not read in the description that this guesthouse has only one bathroom. The guesthouse behind the 1919 main home was built in 1972 under two huge 200 year old pin oak trees that cater to cobwebs, leaf residue, and all the by products of living in a home under a tree filled yard. We cherish the oldness of our property along with the many antiques and art throughout the home. Hope you enjoyed the welcome banana bread and endless supply of coffee, tea, hot chocolate and waters during your visit. We pride ourselves on providing the “and then some” for our guests!
Great house and location
This is the third time we have stayed with our dogs at either the General's Retreat or Captain's Quarters and have very much enjoyed each stay. Both units are very nice/clean and suited our needs perfectly. The neighborhood is beautiful / great for walking our dogs. The Owners couldn't be any nicer. I highly recommend Franklin in general/super cool city and these units in particular
We adore you and your fur babies! Thank you for allowing us to continue to be your hosts and thank you for your kind review! Look forward to your next visit!
Southern Hospitality and Charm!
We were quickly greeted as we arrived and shown around the property, which is adorable! They provided water in the fridge and a loaf of banana bread.... so thoughtful
The property is in a great location, with a nice sun porch and outdoor space.
I would definitely stay there again!
Close to downtown
This was a perfect place to stay for out trip to the Franklin theater. Property manager met us when we arrived, showed us around and made sure we had everything we needed. The property was as advertised. Can comfortably sleep 5. Great yard and patio. Definitely will consider staying again when we return to Franklin.
Thank you so much for your 5 star review! We love hosting and hope you’ll return for a longer visit next time!
Quaint. Cozy. Relaxing. Perfect for our weekend getaway from the hustle and bustle.
