About the property

5 Bedrooms, 3.5 Bathrooms, No more than 14 guests may stay overnight.

Spacious lake view log home on 5 acres with private boat dock. Maximum 2 boats allowed at this dock (use your own boats or rent some close by). Awe inspiring, 280 degree view of Georgetown Lake, Continental Divide Mountain Range and the surrounding forests. Ideal for peace and quiet. Neighboring homes all around, but far enough away to allow privacy. Walk 100 yards to the lake for summer or winter sports activities. Discovery Ski hill is a 15 minute drive from this home. It's the best kept skiing secret in Montana and is often praised as the best skiing, most reasonable prices. Use your own snowmobiles to ride over 120 miles of nearby groomed mountain trails directly out the front door. Old Works golf course is 1/2 hour drive to Anaconda. It is a Jack Nicklaus signature course, and a challenge to the best golfers. The lake offers boating, swimming, outstanding fishing both summer and winter. Para-skiing tournaments are held each February. Ice fishing is popular here. Two restaurants close by serve burgers, sandwiches, steaks and breakfast. The small community of Philipsburg is 20 minutes to the west and has shops, restaurants and entertainment. This is the most beautiful home on the lake with by far the best view. Come and enjoy! Please be aware that this is a log house in the woods in the country. There will be bugs occasionally. If you don't like bugs and the outdoors, this house is not for you. This is a smoke free home. Smoking is permitted outside the house. Please dispose of cigarette butts properly as fire danger is always high in western forests. Check in is at 5:00 PM and check out is at 10:00 AM. No tents or campers are allowed on the property. Day events (weddings, family reunions, etc) are limited to 40 people and there will be an extra charge of $500 per event. If the tenant's guest list exceeds 30 people, the tenant is required to rent a portable toilet to accommodate guests during the event. Tenant may do this by requesting a number from the property manager. The tenant is liable for any damage to or loss of property caused by the tenant or the tenant's guests. Therefore purchase of damage protection is recommended. There is a fee per pet per day, added at the time of reservation.

About Cora Wyant

We will give you information about the owners, but you will mostly be dealing with the on-site manager, Cora Wyant, who lives near the property. Cora is a friendly, capable manager and cleaner and will do what she can to make your stay the best vacation you've ever had.

I, Bob Morris, grew up in Anaconda and after college I spent my career in Mexico and in Southern California working in the aerospace & electronic industries. I returned to the community of my birth after retirement. Home again! My wife, Joan grew up outside Chicago and has lived in Montana for the past 40 years. She was Director of the Western Montana Metal Health Center. We are currently retired and reside in Anaconda, although we love to travel and stay in VRBO homes all over the world!

Cora Wyant purchased this lodge in 1993

Why Cora Wyant chose Montana

We built this house after selling our electronics business in San Diego. We first owned a smaller house nearby but I always envisioned spending my final years on a mountaintop to see the sun come up in the morning and go down in the evening to fish, ski, hike and snowmobile right out my door. It's a dream come true.

What makes this lodge unique

We built this house in 1993 and we never get tired of the magnificent view over the lake. To see the wonderful mountains, forests and animals and experience the beauty and craftsmanship of a log house is beyond description. if I had it to do over again I would not change a thing, neither the location or the house itself, there is nothing to compare it with. Western Montana is in a class all of its own and luckily this part of it is still relatively undiscovered. We are so pleased to be able to share it with you.

very nice home

  • 5 of 5

The home was clean. Nicely decorated (cabin style). The wild life around the area was amazing. We had moose siting every day! One evening a bald Eagle was on the tree boughs. The only draw back is that the dock is a bit of a distance from the home so fairly unusable.

Spacious cabin, great views, and close proximity to a ski resort. You simple cannot beat waking up in this place with a cup of coffee and that spectacular view of the lake and mountains. I would recommend this place anyone who loves fishing, skiing, weekend getaways or the great outdoors.

Luxurious but homey getaway

  • 5 of 5

This cabin wasnt just beautiful inside and out, it had such a comfortable feel to it. The spacious interior was great and the rooms/bathrooms on each level were just as nice. waking up to the view of snowy mountains and a lake right from the living room windows with a morning coffee on the couch was my favorite part. Having a mountain to ski at just a few miles away wasn't too bad either. Going ice fishing for the first time (just steps from the front door) was a blast. I would recommend this cabin to all ages! Loved my time there.

Greatest Holiday Vacation Ever

  • 5 of 5

We had a two-week family vacation at this exquisite Montana Mountain Lake lodge this 2016 winter. This completely furnished home is one of the most amazing places we have ever stayed. There is so much to do and the lake views are so spectacular. The lodge is on the top of the peninsula, with the continental divide set as the background. I’ve stayed here in years past and loved it. The recent property management changes are a welcome change. The service, cleanliness and dedication are once again great. Anything you need – they were there for us, it was really nice.

Winter or summer activities and sports are plentiful in the Montana Mountains. Hunting, skiing, fishing, photography, sledding, hiking, boating and reading books under a tree are some of the favorites. Discovery Ski hill is 10 minutes on the other side of the lake. We did some ice-fishing while we were there and ended up with about 12 pounds of fresh rainbow trout. The airport and Costco are only an hour away as well. There are some really great things to see and do, both in Anaconda and nearby Phillipsburg. Some of our favorites are the world famous Sweet Palace candy shop and jewelry / sapphire shopping in Philipsburg. Washoe Park in Anaconda always has wild deer wandering around. The Old Works golf course, was designed by Jack Nicklaus. The lodge is huge and has a 30’ tall wood-burning fireplace. It can sleep a dozen guests comfortably. The country kitchen is designed to cook for large families by way of a 36” electric cook top/oven and a Sub Zero frig. The breakfast table view is very special. We saw wild animals like deer, elk, bighorn sheep and even a moose. The décor is “western log cabin” if that’s even a style? From the wagon wheels laying around to the art-work. The hardwood floors, shelves and walls are enhanced with beautiful rugs, tapestries and ornate decorations. Someone with a real passion spent a lot of time and effort to design this place. We stocked up before we headed out to the lodge. There is a spice cupboard in the kitchen with a fair amount of the common needs. We dined at the Barkley II in Anaconda, it’s not fancy but the 12-course steak dinner was amazing. Seven Gables Bar has broasted chicken and JoJo Fries to die for! The Haufbrau has outstanding pizza and beer. We’ve found that the people in Anaconda, and Montana in general, are some of the warmest and most hospitable people there are. We already planning our next Georgertown Lake / Anaconda Montana get-away.

Wonderful place for family to gather

  • 4 of 5

Large, clean 5 bdroom home with the wide world outside and the mountains on the horizon. Common areas are comfy yet large enough to have the whole gang around the fireplace or dining room table. The kitchen is lovely, but if you're a cook, be prepared for some challenges. The ample kitchen presents the problems of having so many places to store things... and the location of just what you're looking for can be frustrating. The oven heats slowly and probably not to temperature. Once you learn the stove top, it's manageable, but does take a time or 2. Cora is wonderful to work with. We found that there were quite a few times where there wasn't enough hot water... even with staggering times and taking very short showers.
