Overview

Pelican House Rental Photos and Description

Family Friendly, 4 Bedroom, 3 Bath, Luxury Waterfront Home With Pool And Dock

Casa De Playa is a luxuriously appointed vacation home, that feels more like a tropical resort, which was somehow pulled from the cover of a 'Tommy Bahama' catalog. It is situated on a triple lot overlooking a basin with 120 ft of seawall and its own private heated pool and dock. It has been recently remodeled and boasts many upgraded amenities as well as water / pool views from almost every room. The large pocket sliders to the pool can be opened bringing the outdoors inside. In addition, there is a large sun deck overlooking both the pool and dock, perfect for sunbathing or dining al fresco while watching the sunset.

The kitchen has granite countertops, with all new stainless steel appliances, including a professional grade oven. There is plenty of counter / bar space with an island area just off the kitchen for buffet style meals and entertaining. In addition, there is a large formal dining area overlooking the custom built wine room. Bring your favorite vintage or bubbly and store them in our built in under-counter wine fridge.

The house is family friendly and has a number of kids toys and DVDs. They will enjoy their own indoor camp out in one of the guest rooms, that can be converted into a pirate styled slumber party, if not being used by adults.

Two of the bedrooms are master suites with their own en suite baths. The other two guest bedrooms are spacious and located conveniently adjacent to the guest bath.

There are separate living and family rooms, on opposite ends of the house, overlooking the water and pool area. Both have comfy sofas and include HD flat screen TVs, cable, wifi, and blu-ray players for indoor entertainment. You can watch the game or entertain in the living room, while the kids watch movies in the family room, without being interrupted.

The patio area includes an outdoor dining table, a daybed, lounge chairs for relaxing, as well as a sitting area for congregating. The heated pool is the center of the house and provides a beautiful glow throughout the house at night.

The dock has a lift on a wide canal and can easily store your boat if you choose to bring or rent one. The Gulf Access canal is within easy reach of local beaches and watering holes on Sanibel Island, Ft. Myers Beach, Pine Island, Captiva, Cabbage Key, Cayo Costa, etc.

About Paul

As the owners, this is not just a rental property to us, but our second home. Our family has been using this property since we purchased it in 2009 as our own private slice of paradise. We have spent countless weekends making family memories that will last our lifetimes. We decided in late 2013 to open it up to guests when we are not using it, but to us it is still our home. As such, you will find it is well loved and cared for and is definitely not your average rental property.

Paul purchased this house in 2009

Why Paul chose Cape Coral

The owners are native Floridians and have lived for 40+ years all over the state. We would be happy to provide suggestions for sightseeing and fun both within Cape Coral and beyond to other parts of Florida.

We have two school aged children so we know what it is like to travel as a family and this house is our perfect getaway. We also love to entertain so we know that the house will serve both adults and children equally well to enjoy their vacation.

What makes this house unique

What we most enjoy about this house is dining outdoors overlooking the water at sunset. The kids enjoy fishing off the dock and watching the mullet school around the dock light at night. A late afternoon nap in the daybed by the pool, after being out on the boat all day, is the perfect way to recharge for a fun filled evening with friends and family.

Big house, great for kids

  • 4 of 5

The location was great. Its the quiet side of the cape. The house is huge and great split floorplan. Fully loaded kitchen. There are a ton of toys for the young kids to play with. There's fishing gear in the garage to fish off the dock. Saw plenty of Snapper. Overall we had a great time.

Inviting and relaxing.

  • 4 of 5

Spent a wonderful week in this beautiful home. The house is as beautiful as the pictures portray. We were two families - 9 people in total and we never felt cramped. The home is both comfortable and well appointed. Paul was very nice and easy to communicate with. Richard the property manager was also very kind and made some great recommendations for local restaurants. We look forward to returning in the future. - thank you Paul for sharing your home with us!

Kara and family.

Great Place to Stay for Families with kids

  • 4 of 5

My family & friends had a great time staying here. The house had all the comforts of home & had lots of toys for kids to play with. The pool was nice to have to unwind and get in vacation mode. Very quiet street which was really nice to have when trying to get away from it all. Paul & property manager were very easy to work with. At night we had free entertainment out on the back patio area, fish jumping out of the water. I would recommend this house to anyone who is looking to unwind and just relax.

Fun First Rental Experience

  • 5 of 5

We have traveled to the Fort Myers area for 7 years to watch our daughters open their college softball seasons. This was our first time renting a house and we can't say enough positive things. The house is absolutely beautiful, spacious, clean and wonderfully decorated. The pool was fun and we could even sit outside if it rained in the covered searting area. There are movies, games and just about anything you could possibly need. There was plenty of seating inside and out. Richard and Susie were next door and very helpful and Paul was great to work with. There were stores and restaurants nearby and the beaches are easy to get to. We had such a great time and are so grateful we found this home. We can't wait to return next year!

Casa de Playa Cape Coral

  • 4 of 5

My family had a wonderful time in Cape Coral and your home was large and well decorated. There was plenty of room for all seven of us. We were told the canal was salt water, which it is not so therefore the fishing was poor. The rooms were large and the toys provided kept out 4 year old very happy. We had all the household supplies we needed and had to do very little shopping for extra's. One suggestion I would make would be to update the sheets and towels and get the clutter off the shelves in laundry area and room entering the house. It was a pleasure to rent from such nice people and to have everything handled in such a processional manner. Thank you

Owner's Response: Sharon, I am very glad you enjoyed your stay with us. I was sorry to hear you didn't catch many fish during your visit. Some guests have better luck than others. However, I did want to let you know that our canal has boating access to the Gulf of Mexico and is indeed a salt water canal. I have personally caught Sheepshead, Blue Crab, Snook, etc., right off the dock, which are all saltwater species. I can understand the confusion as there are many fresh water canals in Cape Coral but they are farther north of where our property is located. Thanks for staying with us and we are pleased you had a great time - Paul.

Cape Coral is centrally located with a short drive or boat ride to a number of beaches and islands on the Gulf Coast. Sanibel and Ft. Myers Beach are just to the Southwest. The artist village of Matlacha and the Pine Island hangouts of Bookelia and St. James City are just west of Cape Coral. There are a number of unique island beaches and famous stops only accessible by boat such as Cayo Costa State park and Cabbage Key (where Jimmy Buffet allegedly wrote Cheeseburger in Paradise).
