The Main living area of this 2600 square foot home opens up to a large lanai overlooking the pool, spa and of course, the ocean. Enjoy your meals outdoors, if you like, on the downstairs lanai where spinner dolphins congregate at the Ironman turn-around buoy straight out front. Sea turtles and several fish species reside in the area.Whale watching in the winter season is a sight to behold. There are 3 bedrooms upstairs, ALL with Fantastic OCEAN VEIWS including an ensuite bathroom in the master bedroom, with a large lanai to experience expansive ocean views and breathtaking Hawaiian sunsets. Honl's Beach is very nearby, where you can swim, boogie board, take surf lessons or just enjoy the day with a picnic lunch. We fell in love with Kona Hale Kai Alii Pool Spa immediately. We found this home and knew it would be a wonderful place to share with friends and family.

What makes this house unique

Private swimming pool and spa and 180 degree views, spectacular sunsets, 2 minute walk to Honls Beach for surfing and snorkeling or a picnic lunch and a short walk to Historic downtown Kailua-Kona. This home is right in front of the Ironman turn-around buoy where spinner dolphins often congregate. You will see whales in season and many other ocean species. Comfortable Hawaiian living at it's best! All 3 upstairs bedrooms have a lanai with great views. The tradewinds flow through this house beautifully.

Perfect Oceanfront Holiday

House was amazing, lots of room for the whole family! We stayed for a week, and even as a family of 8 everyone had their own space. All the rooms were nicely decorated and beds were extremely comfortable. Kids loved watching the fish, dolphins and eels from the pool deck everyday, and loved when the water would splash into the pool. Having the pool and hot tub were great after a day of exploring. House was a great home base for travelling the big island. We did a full island circle tour and loved visiting the volcano and all the nearby beaches. The kitchen is set-up well and we enjoyed many family dinners on the patio, where we would have nightly sunset photo competitions. House is close enough to downtown, that you can walk to shops and restaurants as well. We loved our stay and hope to return one day! Mahalo

A small slice of paradise!!

From the moment we walked through the front door, when our jaws hit the floor at the incredible view, until we grudgingly packed up to leave, we were in paradise! The house is just as pictured and I cannot say enough about the view. Going to sleep at night with the doors wide open, to the sound of the waves and the smell of the sea was just what the doctor ordered. My kids, 5 & 7, never wanted to leave the house. The days were spent in the pool and hot tub and just enjoying each other. The location is excellent! We walked to the Royal Kona Resort and attended a great luau and could easily have walked to town. Parking is bonus - an actual driveway that fits two+ vehicles and direct easy access to Alii Drive. We've been to the Big Island 3 times in the past 2 years and we would DEFINITELY return to this house due to the set up, the view , the kitchen, the parking and the great host Cap't Mark.. Cant say enough - worth every dollar and cant wait to return!

What a great place! Great location, great amenities, a very special house that felt like home!!

Our group, which included our grown children and spouses, as well as my mother and Aunt (who stayed just across the street), concluded that this was the best vacation ever! A huge part of that was this property. Large and comfy, it was a natural gathering spot, with an incredible oceanside setting. We spent every available moment on the huge Lanai, watching and listening to the waves lapping up next to the beautiful pool, with a cool ocean breeze in our face! In addition to the porpoises swimming out in the bay, a favorite activity every day was checking out the tidal pools, which could be safely observed from the deck of the swimming pool! Many colorful reef fish, sea urchins, sea cucumbers, small to medium sized eels, lots of little crabs, etc., all observed by taking a careful look into the water. I'm sure none of the nearby properties can match this oceanside setting! The location is close to downtown (easily walkable), but far enough away to avoid the occasional crowds. To celebrate a birthday, we had a local chef, Timothy James, and a local musician, Kalima, come to the house for a very special evening! Fine dining, drinks, great music and dancing, all on the best oceanside setting!

We had originally thought about doing more of an island hopping vacation, but are so glad we chose to stay here for all 10 days. There is so much to see and do, for all three generations of our group, on the big island, that we wish we had another couple weeks to stay! Our thanks to Capt. Mark, a most attentive and concerned owner, who did everything to make sure we were happy! I could go on and on, but I'll close by saying that I can't imagine staying anywhere else on our return trip to Kona!!

Great Summer Family Vacation

Had a great time in Kona, spent 8 nights at the house!! Mark was great to work with and the location of the house worked great for our family! Between going to the beaches in the mornings, afternoons at the pool with grandkids, and having Ponchoman, a local musician entertain us for an evening at the pool while we bbq'd steaks, the week was perfect! Sunsets every evening while enjoying a glass of wine or a mai tai capped off every evening! Would definitely recommend for families looking to spend time on the Big Island!!

Mark is awesome.

By the time we got to Kona we kind of expected Mark to be there, felt like part of the family =) Through all of our communications with Mark we got to know him , super helpful and easy to deal with. MAHALO MARK!

Best family vacation - the house lacks nothing! It is a beach house and oh so comfortable, and that pool - best thing ever!

We will be back!

On a side note -Jeff ( he met is there on arrival) and Sherri are very helpful and delightful =)

Miss it already but have awesome memories to cherish =)........until next time ALOHA
