Great location and excellent condition

I've stayed in HomeAway apartments all over the world and this one is one of the best! You cannot find a better location to stay in Jerusalem - couple of minutes to Jaffa Gate and Tower of David. The Mamilla Shopping Center with all kind of restaurants and shops is just across the street. There is even a small supermarket with pharmacy. The apartment complex seems brand new, very clean with security guards around the clock. The apartment is very modern and in excellent condition with all imaginable amenities. There is underground parking with assigned parking spot right under the apartment. The only regret I have is that I didn't stay there my entire trip... I will be back!

Excellent and highly recommended!

There is no better place to stay for a couple visiting Jerusalem. To begin with it's a value over a hotel. Why would anyone just want a room when you can have a very nice one bedroom apartment with a patio. It's location cannot be understated just a stone's throw from the old city Jaffa gate. The best mall in Jerusalem is just across the street with some great restaurants.

Short easy walk to the tram to the shuk market and Yad Veshem.

The apartment is clean modern and nice. The owner gets back to you when you text or e-mail.

I recommend taking his taxi man who made entry and arrival very easy. Thank you Sam for helping me with a memorable trip. I will be recommending your place to anyone I know traveling to Jerusalem!

The place was a home away from home and a perfect spot for a 7 day visit to Jerusalem for us.

If location was the only thing so optimal about Sam Caplan’s place, that would be enough to intrigue my wife and I on our 60th-birthday-present-trek to the Middle East right before Rosh Hashanah 5778. Almost-retired Methodists from North Atlanta suburbs, we were all over Israel on our own in a rented Ford until we turned in our Viator vouchers and started out from Davidka Square for Jordan and Palestine with fellow tourists. But besides its prime location, the apartment was perfectly equipped for us with color coordinated porcelain floors, beautifully solid IKEA-ish wooden cabinets, comfy leather sofas, a fully equipped kitchen, a soaking hot shower, WiFi, large flowered patios off the living and bed rooms, CNN and Sky beaming video shots of Florida hurricanes, and two WCs for collision-free early morning ablutions. There was some panic about coffee machines in the early mornings until Sam wisely suggested we just try some spots across the street in the new Mamilla Mall. When I was last in Jerusalem, the street was a traffic hazard. Now there’s a mall with the swankest shops and tasty restaurants where even pancakes were served until 13:30 behind newly reconstructed classic Jerusalem stone facades. Since I had torn a meniscus a few days before we left home and was limping along with a cane, we were delighted to find an elevator in the mall’s garage just across the street, which raised us up to the shopping promenade a couple floors up in a flash. From that pleasant walkway, a bridge spanned the highway and connected to inside the Jaffa Gate and the Old City walls…all within a short stroll for a fossilized working stiff with a bum leg! The neighborhood looks like Jerusalem’s place to be on Thursday evenings too with everyone queued to get a space in the mall’s underground garage. Taxis are ubiquitous with the King David, David Citadel, Mamilla, and Waldorf-Astoria hotels right around the corner. The apartment was immaculate with every convenience for traveling further afield, like a washer/dryer, and a reserved parking place in the basement of the apartment’s David’s Village complex garage, just below the apartment via an easily caught elevator. I would recommend these lodgings to anyone needing a comfortable, convenient base near everything, especially the Old City of Jerusalem. I know if we are lucky enough to return to Jerusalem again someday, if Sam is still listing the place on Home Away, he will be getting an email from us. Thanks!

Perfect location to old Jerusalem!

Excellent condo, just as described. Owner, Sam, was excellent to work with - detailed information as needed for visitors to follow. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. Walking distance to light rail system. Perfect! I recommend NOT renting a car while in Jerusalem - just take public transportation from airport to light rail system. 1 minute walk to Mamila Mall and grocery store!
