This brand new 2,400 sq ft ground level home was completed in 2013, boasts its beauty with natural hickory wood floors & knotty pine doors throughout. It is a 2 bedroom/2 bath/3-car garage/driveway a large patio deck with propane BBQ grill and large back yard along the Chewelah Creek. The master suite features a custom pine log queen bed, walk-in closet, jetted tub, dbl sink granite vanity and private commode. The 2nd guest room features a queen bed and guest bath has granite vanity top and private shower/commode, large open concept kitchen with natural hickory cabinets & featuring a large granite breakfast bar, dining area, a comfortable living room featuring a 48 inch' LCD HDTV on Dish, video library, including board games & cards. Free WI-Fi is available. Most cell phone connections are available on the property. A full size laundry room, ironing board & iron are at your fingertips. We are child friendly. All linens and towels are provided. Kitchen is fully equipped. You provide your own meals. No landline is available inside, please bring your cell phone. This a NO PET(S), NON SMOKING rental. About Edward & Lynda Hayes, Property Managers

I built this home with the property in mind of the breathtaking Quartzite mountain views and the Chewelah Creek at the back of the property. The back of the property is home to a long standing family of deer, with each year bringing new fawns to the fold. The creek boasts the native rainbow trout and an occasional German brown for the avid fisherman.

Why Edward & Lynda Hayes, Property Managers chose Washington

I bought this property in Chewelah (chew-ee-lah) after visiting Spokane for the Wold's Fair in 1974. I found that it was quaintly nestled between Spokane, with it's roaring Spokane Falls at Riverfront Park and Manitou Park Botanical Gardens and Colville, just to the south of the Canadian Border known for it's white water rafting, tubing and plentiful fishing. Chewelah is surrounded by the Colville National Forest and the 29 lakes and rivers surrounding it for family boating, fishing, water skiing, jet-skiing, swimming and sunbathing activities and found this beautiful scenic area a place to behold and enjoy permanently.

What makes this house unique

'A Place for All Seasons' - Winter kicks off with the opening of 49 Degrees North Ski Hill where you can Ski & Snowboard to your hearts content down it's many runs and slopes. Snowmobiling trails in the National Forest lead all the way to the Idaho border for a day of fun filled traveling. Spring brings in the start of fishing season, hikers abundant on newly cleared trails and the budding of new life starting to sprout on the hearty trees and colorful flowers. Summer sings with a bounty of festivities, such as the well known Chataqua Festival, Vintage Car Show and weekly Farmer's Market held in town at the Chewelah Park located a block away from the property. The Farmer's Market not only shows off an abundance of produce fresh from the ground, but also home to numerous baked goods such as pies, breads, cinnamon rolls, jellies & jams, jewelry, soaps, and leather goods all locally/hand made from Washingtonians. Fall brings in the end of the harvest season with wild berry picking of all sorts (blackberry, red raspberry and huckleberries) and jump starts the hunting season, while green leaves turn to the colorful eye pleasing shades of red, orange and brown a relish to the photographers eye. Spring brings on the fishing season and golfing just up the street. Hiking & Mushrooming are the avid travelers dream. Summer is the boast of the season with it's fresh locally grown Farmers Market, the lakes/rivers water activities and the infamous Chataqua Festival. local car shows, antiquing and and many other outdoor activities at the City Park just a block away across the creek.

Large home, nicely furnished

The home was surprisingly quiet, considering the proximity to highway 395. Except for a few spots in the kitchen, the home was quite clean. The kitchen was fully stocked, although, we did not use for cooking other than to heat water for tea/coffee. Bathrooms were supplied with clean towels and shower supplies (shampoo, conditioner, etc.). I wish I had known prior to booking that I would be required to remove my shoes to protect the hardwood floors (which were beautiful). The threshold between the house and the garage had a "give" to it which caused my husband to fall face first into the garage - not good.

Great communication from home owner. Phone calls returned promptly. Beautiful, modern, clean home (the pictures on web site are very accurate). We had a few rainy days, so was very nice to be in this lovely home. Easy access to Spokane area, Canada, Idaho and Montana if you want a day trip.

Nice family setup

Pros:

Location- easy to find and close to town/49 ski mtn.

Secure- Large garage was wonderful after a day skiing

Clean! Updated! Spacious!

Laundry is a bonus after skiing.

Cons:

HVAC was loud in one corner

Never could get TV to operate (not a big deal to us)

Our family of 5 enjoyed the spacious one level home. Very clean, laundry and 2 bathrooms were appreciated. Highly recommend!!

The home was convenient, spacious, and clean.

My family and I had a nice time at this property. It had plenty of space to make us feel comfortable and it was clean and well kept. It was also the perfect spot if you want convenience to 49 Degrees North ski resort. The owner, Edward, was friendly and helpful. We'd stay there again for sure.

Great house! Clean, comfortable, spacious and convenient!

The house was very clean and spacious. Loved the open floor plan! Conveniently located to close town and the grocery store, and a short drive to skiing. The owners/managers were quick to respond to requests and very helpful. Kitchen was fully stocked with cooking and dining tools and dishes if you plan to cook your own meals during your stay. Great kitchen to cook in too, tons of counter space! Highly recommended!

Perfect location, beautiful home, excellent owners.

I typically just stay at the Nordlig motel when visiting my brother and his family in Chewelah, but with my fiance joining me for part of the trip, I wanted to have a nice place and have room to allow them to come visit us. What can I say...the home is perfect for 2-4 people, I would put six at a stretch but doable. The home is beautifully updated inside, the outside is deceiving...I am guessing that is why there are no photos. It does not look old, rough or bad by any means, but has the appearance of a shop or something other than this home from the road.

Do not be put off by the location being right off 395, I heard zero traffic except when out on the deck and even then it was not bad as that part of the hwy is a 25 mph zone. The master suite is generous in size, with large walk in closet, complete with extra hangers. The master bath, well it looks big but I never used it as I turned that one over to my fiance and I just used the main/second one lol.

With the home being perfect and everything the owners list it to be, what I like most is the response time and friendliness of the owners. They provided clear instructions for arrival/departure and were very friendly; professional but not "business like"...felt like I was communicating with a friend or relative.

The home is well equipped with plenty of linens and everything you need in the kitchen etc. pretty much just needed food and personal items.

I like to walk down to Sporty's to watch some sports and have a few drinks/beers so walking there is a plus. This is a little bit longer from Main street than most people probably want to walk. I am a 44 year old man in good shape so I enjoyed the walk and found it pleasant to walk into town...I would guess it to be about a mile to main street with Safeway and some other things being much closer...probably half that at most.

The golf course is right up the road and they have tennis courts and a great restaurant, you have to drive there...but it is a nice drive up the hillside. Probably 5 -7 mins.

Notes for owner:

1) I could not get the back outside door to unlock with a key, had to use front or garage.

2) Having a remote for the garage door would be nice. Not awful to not have it, but would have even made it better.

3) When checking out the house before leaving, I noticed the wall and a small portion of the floor were damp near what appears to be a water filter system in the furnace/storage room. You may want to have that checked out.
