Why Debra Franchi chose Tamworth
Beautiful Country Estate nestled between the White Mountains and Lakes Region of New Hampshire. Wonalancet is a village in the northwestern corner of the town of Tamworth in Carroll County, New Hampshire. The name 'Wonalancet' translates to 'Pleasant Breathing' which you can't help but enjoy during your stay. The village itself is named for the Pennacook Indian leader Wonalancet. Many popular hiking trails into the Sandwich Range of the White Mountains have trail heads in the area, particularly in the locale known as Ferncroft, up a short spur road from Wonalancet. Winter Trails - maintained and groomed for snow machines and cross country skiing. Miles and miles of trails at your disposal!

We had a brilliant time in this perfect home. Deb was an excellent host and extremely responsive. I would highly recommend this house for a family or large group of people.
This is an absolutely beautiful home and property! We were lucky to spend Labor Day Weekend here--4 families with 4 children. The property itself is lovely and peaceful...the patio was perfect to sit out on at the end of a busy day while watching the kids playing in the yard. We especially enjoyed the fire pit at night...This is a classic farmhouse with a gourmet kitchen that allowed us to easily cook for the group the three nights that we were there. We enjoyed time at Lake Chocoura thanks to the parking pass provided by Debra and had just a wonderful time all around. We highly recommend this home!!
Thanks for being such all around great guests!! I'm glad you appreciated all the property and all the area has to offer. I look forward to hosting your group again.
Expansive Property, Beautiful Home, and Great Outdoor Space!
This was a beautiful home and property which we were able to have a large group (10) and feel comfortable. The kitchen area is spacious and well stocked for cooking your own meals, there is a large dinning room table, and wonderful sitting area with a T.V.
The beds are comfortable, and the sun room on the second level is especially lovely to wake up in and view the garden and outdoor space.
The patio and lawn are perfect for BBQing, relaxing in the sunshine, enjoying a fire, and playing lawn games.
I would highly recommend to a group looking to get away from it all and enjoy each others company.
Really nice house in a gorgeous setting
We loved our stay.
Debra was very responsive and made everything right, even when we had a few problems (none of which she could have foreseen). The spot was beautiful - we could ski from the back door. The house was cozy and warm during a very cold long weekend. It was clean and fully appointed. We had a few toddlers and several couples, and had enough space to be together and have some time apart.
We really look forward to returning in the near future.
5-star Peaceful mountain getaway
What a delightful space! The historic farmhouse on beautiful grounds nestled near the White Mountain National forest trails was a perfect venue for our active family of young adults and their parents. Each morning offered us the opportunity to walk or run on the trails behind the house, and the frequent encounters with the waterways made it easy for our little border collies to accompany us in these jaunts. The kitchen space is fabulous, and so well equipped for us all to cook our meals, and then to enjoy them together seated around that gorgeous pine table. The pool table had its share of action, too. We loved the clear nights to star gaze and enjoy the beautiful weather, or to play croquet; and the quiet of the area was a welcome change for the city-dwellers in our group. We also enjoyed a day at the lake, as well as other hikes in the area; and kayaking.
I would highly recommend this space! Thank you for providing us such a beautiful spot for our family to reconnect, recharge, and rejuvenate.
Peaceful - Warm - Cozy - Lovely Setting
My 19 year old niece said it best when she entered this beautiful home. "Wow, this feels just like Christmas morning!" This home exudes warmth and a feeling that this home has a history where people lived and loved well. We wanted time together for our large family of brother and sisters with grandmother and older children to reconnect. This was a beautiful setting that allowed us to share meals prepared in a fantastic kitchen and a beautiful patio with a fire pit to share evenings. Must sees include the local farmer's market on Saturdays, the playhouse, Monkey Trunks (a ropes course), lakes and hiking trails. We had a wonderful time and know that you will too!!! Thank you Debra!
Amazing hiking, cross country skiing on groomed trails and snow shoe right out the back door. SNOW MACHINE delight - miles and miles of endless, maintained trails which access club trail network from house.
