It also has a large bath and a wrap around lanaie which overlooks the great pacific ocean and each bedroom with its own patio door for easy access. Our downstairs has a wide open space with a large kitchen, dining area and living room with a queen size sofa bed for extra people. There is also a small full bath with tub and shower and a dressing area as well. The outside has a utility area with washer and dryer and a covered area equipped with a barbeque, patio table and patio furniture. The views are all beautiful regardless of where you're are around the house. It's a place you'll be able to relax and see how it would feel to live in paradise country, truly a place I feel you would enjoy staying in.
It was great to have a spot we could just come and go as we pleased. Loved that there was a laundry on site. Shirley provides great supplies. Beach towels, all the kitchen stuff u could ever need and so much more. A great price also. Really enjoyed our stay. Thanks
We so enjoyed our stay in this delightful home. Sitting out on the veranda was so refreshing! It was obvious that this home was well loved, well kept up, and well supplied, the moment we arrived. The host and hostess are lovely people, and we so enjoyed the fresh eggs that Shirley stopped by with! If we ever make it to the Big Island again, this is where we would choose to stay. It is easily a 5 star place and we would highly recommend it to everyone we know! Shirley and Rick, thank you so much for a special time in your home!!!
Great location to southern most Bakery in US (only 2 miles away, a must stop on the way to Volcano NP), best road-side fresh fruits stands, Southern most Point in US and of course Volcano NP.
Great supplies in house provided by friendly owner especially the fresh eggs you'll remember for a long time.
Also great for kids from big cities who love animals, fruit trees and huge area to play.
Will come back and strongly recommend friends to stay this house in south part of The Big Island.
It is a beautiful home. It fit the 5 of us, with room to spare. The host is very accommodating, check the fridge and pantry, she makes the arrive very smooth. We would definitely recommend staying and when we return we will try to stay again.
We stayed here as a party of 8- a family of 4 and two older couples. The accommodations were comfortable and spacious. All amenities were provided, and we enjoyed the lively, rural setting. We appreciated the gated entrance for security and the lanai for enjoying the sunset. The house is about 20'min from black sands beach, 30 from green sands and about 1.5 hours each to Hilo and Kona. Shirley and Rick are great hosts!
Our visit began with a huge HUG from Shirley, always a blessing. The house was well stocked and it makes such a difference to have items like paper products, and even some coffee when you arrive in a strange place you aren't familiar with. Shirley gave us some of the BEST fresh eggs for our breakfast that spoiled us! Unfortunately, our stay was very short, so we were on the go and couldn't take the time to just sit on the lani and enjoy the views. Beautiful landscaping, and the view stretches all the way to the ocean. Each morning, we were greeted by horses and chickens.
This home is so much nicer than staying in a hotel. It's nice to have room to stretch out. This home is very spacious and is perfect for a family. My only advice to other visitors, fly into Hilo instead of Kona. The home is much closer. Other advice, be sure to spend a day at Volcanoes National Park and make sure you step out of your comfort zone and go on a night time Manta Ray Snorkeling trip. It might just be the most amazing thing you do.
Thank you Shirley for sharing your home..If we are lucky enough to come back to your island, we will stay there again.

We're located halfway between Kailua Kona and Hilo with beautiful mountain scenery and the great Pacific ocean to admire, which makes it easy to travel in either direction. Our active volcano is located about 40 minutes from us. We have 7 1/2 acres with grazing horses to watch and a serene setting for rest and relaxation. Our weather is perfect with lots of sunshine. We offer our Aloha spirit to those who visit and our goal is to make your stay at our plantation house as enjoyable as possible. Just to let you know, we no longer have roosters on our property because of their noise disturbing our guest. We want your stay to be as pleasant as possible without roosters crowing. Also to let you know, our place is just a short distance from Green Sands beach and about 7 miles from Black Sands beach and Sea Mountain golf course. We also have 2 nice grocery markets within 12 miles and Punalulu Bakery within 2 miles. The mountainous country sides are beautiful, I'm sure you will enjoy visiting our home and for a short time you can see how living in this area would be.
