2 lovely rooms and 1 full bath, with a spacious terrace in the heart of the city
About Property Manager
I was born near the mighty Missouri river in Sioux City, Iowa and grew up in South Dakota. When I was 24 years old I moved to Europe and settled in Rotterdam. I have been a psychotherapist and a professional storyteller and now I am an inn keeper like my grandparents were in Georgia in the US. Authentic hospitality is important to me and I love meeting people from all over the world and showing them my adopted city of Rotterdam. This city holds a special place in my heart as I have watched it rebuild itself after the bombing in WW2. The new architecture, the friendliness of the people and the great vibe are all wonderful reasons for a stay in Rotterdam.
Why Property Manager chose Centrum
This townhouse is located in the very heart of Rotterdam and you can walk everywhere. The back of the house is very quiet even though you are in the heart of things. The location makes everything so easy. You don't need a car or even the fabulous public transportation that is readily available.
What makes this Apartment unique
For a girl from the prairie, being able to walk to the 6 world class museums in my neighbourhood, visit the 35 restaurants around the corner, and skip over to the river with the boat bus and ferry to the windmills, the concert hall and theatres all make this location so special.

Amazing stay in the heart of Rotterdam
My family had an absolutely lovely stay with Mary. The location is everything that is promised with excellent access to restaurants, mass transit, and the sights. The rooms were quiet and clean. But truly what made it most memorable was Mary's effort and dedication to an amazing stay. Everything from food recommendations to assistance with my Class A jet lag insomnia, she was an amazing host.
To help clarify the layout, there are three rooms. The Zen & City View rooms are on the top floor, with a shared bathroom between them. The Garden Room is down one floor down with a tiny kitchenette and the bathroom again in the hallway. This was absolutely perfect for my family, as the baby had a room, my wife and I had one, and my mother-in-law was in the Garden Room. This is a great venue for a family needing multiple rooms (like we did) but I think it would work equally well for anyone just needing one or two.
So central, yet very quiet
We stayed in Rotterdam for three nights at Rene & Mary's B&B in their "Zen Room". The B&B is in the best location, and this room overlooks a private garden, so while you are only 100 meters from all the action it is peaceful and quiet when you want to call it a night. There is a car park if you need it and the apartment is also only 10 mins walk to the central railway station. Mary is a lovely host and gave us really useful local hints about transport, restaurants and places to visit. Highly recommended!
Excellent location, great hospitality from Mary Sue.
Great location, very clean rooms.
Great central location! Highly recommend for business travel!
This property is known online, as Rene and Mary's B&B. Mary and family live on the bottom floor (of a 3 story building) and she is a wonderful hostess. Mary is also very responsive and we communicated through the HomeAway message system quite well. The upstairs floors have rooms available to rent & stay. Our group was 3 adults and we rented the top floor bedrooms and shared a bathroom between the two rooms. There were two mini fridges, a microwave, tea kettles and a Nespresso coffee maker in between the rooms as well, so it was easy to keep food and beverages. The Zen room on the top floor has an outdoor balcony, this was a bonus for our group as it provided a community space for us to discuss the days business and prepare the following day. This room also had a very comfortable mattress and we slept well. The property is on a street that connects two main artery streets filled with every type of business you may need access to. Most importantly, restaurants, grocery stores and public transit are just a short walk. If you are an old pro at the transit system, arriving at Rotterdam Central station and then hopping on the local RET, it is possible to end up on the block of the property and just have a short walk. I recommend plugging this into your smart phone map. Otherwise, the walk from Rotterdam Central with luggage in tow is not the most convenient. Especially if it was bad weather, broken luggage wheels, jet lag or a general "over it" feeling exists, save yourself the hassle and catch a taxi. Last note, when people talked about Dutch stairs, I had no frame of reference to what that meant. What it means is this, narrow by nature, often spiraling, with a very short area to place your foot. Most homes/hotels are retrofitted for modernization, yet the staircase issue is real. My work colleague had a large checked piece of luggage that was too bulky and heavy to get to the top floor as it was. Her solution was to unpack it on the lower level and brought the contents up in a manageable way, then brought the mostly empty luggage up alone. Overall, we enjoyed our time at Mary's B&B and felt very comfortable, looking forward to returning!
We highly recomend a stay at Mary Sue's appartment in the city centre of Rotterdam. A service-minded and welcomming host that contributed to making our stay great. We would gladly come back if we ever where to visit the city again!
We offer a walk around our lively neighbourhood to point out all the museums, bars and restaurants in the area, including the exciting boat taxis and Rotterdam Harbour.
Welcome to Rotterdam!
