This centrally located 475 sq ft (44 m²) apartment with hard wooden floor and nice carpentry, situated on ground floor in quiet area nearby Central Station (only 2 busstops away), is really amazing by it's art decorating and surprising design.
Very nearby what was elected in 2011 and 2012 as the most pleasant shopping street of the Netherlands you'll find a variety of conveniences as foodmarket, cinema, restaurants (Japanese, Indian, French, Italian, Dutch, Chinese etc), cafés, bistros, all kind of small shops.
At a two minutes walk you'll get the feeling being in a typical Dutch harbour village: Bickerseiland and Prinseneiland.

mr. Peter Janssen Groesbeek purchased this condo in 2013
Most comments about the hotels in Amsterdam was how noisy it could get at night. So when I read the description and the reviews about Peter's condo being centrally located, close to restaurants and shops but was on a quiet neighborhood, and when I figured out that the cost staying at a hotel and at this place was about the same, I didn't look any further.
Communication with Peter was very easy. He responded right away to my many inquiries.
When we got to Amsterdam, true enough, the location was perfect! First of all, it was easy to find and was only a 10-15 minute walk from the Centraal Station / city central. The condo is located on a quiet street, but it is also very close to a bustling shopping street where you can find restaurants, bakeries and such. The condo was clean, spacious and charming and has amenities (such as a microwave, a fancy coffee maker and a motor-driven bed that my husband loves) that hotels don't provide.
Peter was such a gracious host who personally welcomed us to his apartment even if we arrived past 9 p.m. He oriented us to the different amenities in the condo and gave us recommendations where to eat. It was also very nice that he provides a transit card for the metro that you reimburse when you leave. I also liked how fast he got back to me after I texted him when we had trouble operating the coffee machine. He also returned the deposit that very evening after we checked out.
Overall, I loved our stay in Amsterdam and a big part of it was due to how comfortable we were at Peter's place. It was a home away from home and I would not hesitate recommending it to anyone!
From the moment I communicated with Peter about staying in his condo, I was immediately excited to experience his living space in Amsterdam. Not only did he pick us up at the docking point, but offered many great ideas for our stay for 3 days. Loved his condo which was equipped with everything we needed to make us feel at home. We even had fresh fruit, wine and beer. Condo was clean and well taken care of by Peter. What more could we ask for? So, I would highly recommend his condo which was located in a great neighborhood with restaurants, shopping, and great energy.
Not sure what I can say that hasn't already been said. This is a perfect apartment in a perfect location. We have rented many places all over the world and Peter was by far the best host. The little touches around the apartment are too numerous to mention, but he has truly thought of everything. I can't think of one thing we needed and couldn't find! The neighborhood is so quiet and easy to get around, especially after spending some time in other crowded and hectic areas. It was always so nice to come home to our quiet little oasis. Everything you need is right there in a two block area. LOVE the coffee maker, the adjustable bed and the shower! Thank you Peter.... we hope to see you again!
We enjoyed out stay in this lovely apartment. It is exactly as shown in the pictures. It is well organized and clean. Although we didn't cook, there seems to be plenty of cooking pots and pans should you choose to do so. The coffee maker is great and our host, Peter, even supplied the coffee beans which were much appreciated. Peter, is friendly and agreeable and we enjoyed his company and conversation. The apartment is one street away from a local shopping street where you can find restaurants, grocery stores and a laundromat. It is within walking distance of the train station, about 15 minutes or so, depending on your speed. We also liked the bakery around the corner for treats. We would happily recommend this to our friends. We were very pleased.
The rental was nice and the owner, Peter, was very helpful and friendly. Peter had orange juice in the fridge and fresh fruit on the table. The location was good as we were able to walk to all attractions. The grocery store was only a block away. We were very comfortable during our stay.
This was our first visit to Amsterdam and we were initially overwhelmed with the large crowds and bike traffic. Peter's apartment was a refuge from this, tucked away from the main street, yet centrally located and close to everything. The neighbourhood was full of little shops and restaurants and close to bus and tram lines. Peter was a wonderful host, who, for a small fee, picked us up from the cruise dock and drove us to the airport, alleviating all our stress. He provided a transit card (for which we reimbursed him), wine, beer, fruit and flowers. The apartment is well equipped with a great coffee maker, comfy bed and large bathroom. it is so much nicer than staying at a hotel! Thank you, Peter!
