Luxury holiday house with a pool, perfect for families and groups of friends

This fabulous free-standing property is located outside the peaceful hillside village of Magagnosc, just above Valbonne and offers the most spectacular panoramic views over its terraced garden down to the Mediterranean coast. La Soleillade is perfectly located for exploring the famous villages and rich culture of the Alpes-Maritimes, and for those families seeking a restful break or an activity-packed holiday.

The modern, light, open-plan kitchen, with a large fridge-freezer, a wine fridge and breakfast bar is fully equipped for all your entertainment needs. The lovely sitting and dining rooms lead onto the south facing terrace, with its large mosaic pool and stone BBQ to the side. Below the terrace lies a large, beautiful and secluded garden which will delight enthusiasts with its colourful beds and many olive, cypress and fruit trees, offering space and tranquillity on several levels.

The villa has six double bedrooms, five of which have an en-suite bathroom and there is a separate shower room downstairs. All bedrooms are light and airy. The master bedroom provides enough space for an additional baby cot, and one of the bedrooms has a third bed if required.

Road access is easy, Nice Airport is only 25km away and there is plenty of secure car parking space.

  • The bedrooms are spread over three floors. The master bedroom suite, occupies the top floor of the house. Two twin bedrooms are next to each other on the ground floor, with an inter-connecting door and large french doors leading on to the pool terrace. Three more bedrooms are on the lower ground floor facing south, two of which have direct access to the garden. Five of the six bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms and ceiling fans. The sixth bedroom has a separate shower room next to it along the corridor. We also have a travel cot available for use when needed.

Small playroom downstairs with an air hockey table. Outdoor table tennis. For the pool we have the standard, state required water disturbance alarm installed and keep a removable pool guard barrier in the cellar that can block off the pool from the rest of the terrace. The contemporary kitchen has a large range of cooking and dining equipment for all your enterteinment needs and includes a large fridge/freezer, American cooking range, two sinks, two dish washers, a separate wine fridge and a breakfast bar. An additional free-standing fridge is in the basement near the access door to the garden and pool terrace. Beautiful breakfast room in the conservatory next to the dining room. The laundry room has two washing machines and two tumble driers. Outdoor drying lines in conventient locations in the garden. Travel cot for babies, car booster seats and indoor stair gates available.

Traumurlaub in Traumhaus

Die einwöchige Reise mit unseres Freundesgruppe war einfach perfekt. Angefangen mit dem freundlichen Kontakt zu Bettina, der Hausbesitzerin, über die vollständige Ausstattung des Hauses, die Sauberkeit, den herrlichen Pool, bis hin zum atemberaubenden Blick vom Grundstück des Hauses. In La Soleillade kann wirklich wohnen, nicht nur sich aufhalten. Für größere Familien oder Gruppen absolut bestens! Es klingt vielleicht banal, aber es ist wirklich so: wir haben uns wie zuhause gefühlt.

A perfect family holiday

Our family of two adults and four children (6 - 10 years) had an idyllic week in this gorgeous house. There were many highlights - the garden and spectacular views, the beautiful pool so accessible from the house, the gourmet kitchen and the layout. The different levels and many rooms meant everybody had enough space. The house could easily accommodate two or three families.

The weather was mixed but it didn't affect us. The house has plenty of activities to keep children occupied; in particular the air hockey table. The magnificent windows in the conservatory meant we could enjoy the view regardless of the temperature! We enjoyed visiting the historic villages in the surrounding area and the easy trips to the beach. Our children also enjoyed horse riding and the adventure playgrounds close by.

The owners made us feel very welcome with fruit, wine, beer and flowers upon arrival. We would recommend the property for families or just adults. It works brilliantly for both!

Family friendly with space and privacy

We had a great stay over Easter. The property is spacious and fully modernised with high quality fittings throughout the house with a kitchen fit for foodies. All the rooms have plenty of natural light, especially the dining and sitting rooms. Being arranged over three floors with a range of places to go outside there was plenty of room and places for people to relax in peace and quiet. What made the property stand out was the size of the garden and being wooded at its fringes, the complete sense of privacy, despite being near the villages and amenities and enjoying a remarkable view towards the coast from the sitting room and the terraces. There is a good range of eateries in the area, all the way up to Michelin standard and a good selection of food and wines from various shops within three miles of the property. It can be heartily recommended for families, with its extras such as table tennis, a useful library and plenty of games. Dr David & Mrs Pauline Lloyd Owen, Wales.

A great holiday!

Never have we stayed in a more beautifully equipped house, it had absolutely everything you could wish for, and was so comfy and charming. We really enjoyed cooking in the hi-tech kitchen, which was just as well, as nobody wanted to go out anywhere, they were so happy staying on the gorgeous terrace, sunbathing, swimming and looking at the view. A great holiday, thank you so much, from Mandy and the girls.

Ein herrlicher Ort um die Côte d'Azur zu erleben

Mit 5 Paaren und einem Hund war dieses Haus mehr als groß genug. Jeden Morgen ging es in den Pool, der Blick von der Terrasse ist fantastisch, in der Ferne strahlt das Blau der Côte d'Azur. Die Küche ist perfekt ausgestattet mit neuester Technik und riesigem Kühlschrank, im Garten steht ein großer Doppel-Grill. Jeden Abend haben wir uns selbst versorgt, wir haben es genossen, den Blick bis in die Nacht über die Küste schweifen zu lassen. Die Lage des Hauses ist perfekt. Vor einem liegen Strand, Kultur und Shopping, hinter dem Haus beginnt sofort die Natur. Ideal zum Wandern und wie in unserem Fall zum Rennradfahren durch Schluchten und über die Pässe.

Der Kontakt zur Vermieterin Bettina lief klasse, die Schlüsselübergabe mit Jaqueline war sehr spaßig, sie spricht zwar nur französisch, aber wozu hat man Hände und Füße?

Unsere Ausflugstipps: Mit dem Bike über den Col de Vence (in Coursegoules ein Bierchen), von Courmes aus eine Wanderung auf den Puy de Tourrettes und den Pic de Tourrettes (Bartgeier beobachten!!), Essen gehen in Tourettes de Vence, die Stiftung Maeght in St. Paul de Vence ansehen (z. Zt. Christo-Ölfässer), am Strand von LaBocca ins Meer springen, und immer wieder auf der Terrasse der Soleillade liegen ... perfekt!

Très belle villa, très agreable à vivre, avec une vue extraodinaire de la terrasse et de la piscine dont on ne se lasse pas. La maison est bien équipée, très spacieuse et les contacts avec les propriétaires ont été très faciles.

Location que je recommande.

The village of Magagnosc is 4km outside Grasse, on the way to Nice, in the beautiful hills above Valbonne, only 30 minutes by car or excellent bus connection from Nice International airport. The house is located in a quiet lane in the Quartier de la Lauve, with uninterrupted views overlooking the valley down to the coast and the Esterel mountains. Pré-du-Lac is a famous hub for cyclists from where to start the ascent to Gourdon and the many routes into the Pre-Alpes of the Cote d'Azur. All in all, a perfect location from where to explore the many sites in the Alpes-Maritimes and Provence.

Nice, Antibes and Cannes are just a short ride away, and so are the beautiful villages of Valbonne, Gourdon, St Paul de Vence and Biot, with many hiking and cycling routes along the way. Grasse is also not to be missed, with its famous perfumeries and a bustling old town full of restaurants and bars.

Beyond are the rural surroundings of Provence, with ancient hilltop villages and the Lac de St Cassien, which offers many great water sports and is often less busy than the coast. Alternatively, it takes only one hour to reach St Tropez, Monaco and the Italian border, and 1 1/2 hours to be in excellent ski resorts.

There are many excellent golf courses within half an hour from the house, including Golf de la Grande Basitde and Golf Club du Saint-Donat outside Mouans-Sartoux and many others. The Four Seasons Resort Provence at Terre Blanche has become one of the most favoured golf destinations (the hotel also offers gorgeous Spa facilities for non golfers!). The nearest public tennis courts are close by in Chateauneuf and there is table tennis and a boules pitch at home in the garden.

On the cultural side you are really spoilt for choice. There is so much to see in the South of France such as the Matisse Chapel in Vence, the Fondation Maeght in St Paul de Vence, the historic centre in Grasse with some wonderful early Rubens paintings in the Cathedral Notre Dame de Puy, many wonderful museums in Nice and Vallauris and last but not least the excellent Picasso Museum in Antibes. If you are into buying art then you will find many fine art galleries in Mougins, Cannes, Nice and St Paul with great exhibitions of talented artists, many from the local area. And don't forget to visit the great perfumeries in Grasse which make this the perfume capital of the world!

The Côte d'Azur wouldn't be the same without the amazingly blue Mediterranean and its famous beaches along the cost. We love the quieter beaches between Théoule-sur-Mer and Pointe de l'Esquillon on the way to St-Raphaël but anywhere around Cannes and also the Cap d'Antibes is simply beautiful.

For rainy days or if you look for activities for the whole family then visit the glass factory in Biot or the Marineland adventure park in Antibes. The Oceanographic museum in Monaco is also a great outing and so are the picturesque hilltop villages in Provence up hill from Gourdon. St. Tropez, Monte Carlo and nearby Italy are also always worth a visit and great fun for a day out.

There are many wonderful weekly markets where you find the freshest produce from the local area. Our favourites are the small market in Pre-du-Lac on Monday morning and of course the fantastic and famous market in Valbonne on Friday mornings. Le Rouret and Roquefort-les-Pins also have their weekly markets and in Opio there are often special markets in the evenings.

A large selection of guidebooks and maps is available to help you plan your outings, and we have a well stocked library of books and DVDs to borrow.

The rental price includes a weekly clean (3 hours), all bedlinen and towels, water and electricity supply as well as regular pool maintenance and garden upkeep. The rental also includes the cleaning of the house at the end of the stay. Any additional cleaning and house keeping, if desired, can be arranged at an additional cost of Euro 15 per hour.

Owner's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund if canceled at least 30 days before arrival date.
  • 100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
