This property is the perfect place for a relaxing, private retreat that is the ideal spot to watch the amazing tides in the Bay of Fundy. We watched the semipalmated sandpipers for hours as they gathered by the thousands to rest and gorge themselves on the mud flats for the long flight to Brazil. The property has beautiful flowers all around, and the deck overlooking the Bay is the perfect place to spend some time. The cottage is very clean, wonderfully stocked and quite comfortable. It’s convenient to restaurants and shopping, with lots to see in the area. Anne was wonderful to work with, and Rachel, the property manager, was very attentive to anything we needed. We’ll definitely be back!
1 week stay
Great property and location located on Bay of Fundy. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would return again. Enjoyed the sunsets, hummingbirds, peace and quiet, and easy location for day trips enjoy the surroundings.
Beautiful house with amazing views
We stayed for a week at the lovely Tide House. The property is beautiful, inside and out, and has everything a family could want for a stay: great garden with amazing views, a fire pit to toast marshmallows, a fabulous kitchen and great laundry facilities (pretty essential with kids!). We visited during a very hot spell and found the upstairs bedrooms a bit warm, but there was ample space downstairs where the rooms are cool. The area is gorgeous - lots of trails to hike and lakes to swim in, as well as wee towns to visit. The South Shore and Keji are within an easy drive, as are the attractions of the Annapolis Valley; we had a really fun day at Raven Haven where we rented kayaks, swam in the lake and played beach volleyball. Old-school fun! Perhaps the highlight for us was a trip to Brier Island for a whale watching adventure on a zodiac (thanks for the recommendation, Anne!) - a three-hour journey but well worth it to see humpbacks and minkes up close. The owners could not have been more helpful in helping us sort out our visit. I wouldn’t hesitate to book this house again or recommend it to another family.
Perfect spot for Family vacation
We took both sets of our parents plus our eldest daughter for our youngest daughter’s graduation from Acadia. We made it a family vacation and stayed a week. There is lots to do in the area, especially if like wine and hiking. We rented bikes in Wolfville and travelled the old rail bed stopping at Mercator’s winery. The Tide House was a perfect spot for all of us. The layout is well thought out. 2 bedrooms up stairs and two down with a bathroom on each floor. It’s a split level so there are approx. 6 steps up or down when you enter from the mud room. The cottage has everything you need plus some. A lot of their appliances and pots/pans are nicer than mine. My daughter wanted to move in! The house is very spacious yet cozy, which we really appreciated since our weather was quite chilly at times. We had zero problems while we were there. Rachel, our greeter, was there when we arrived and when we left. She is a lovely lady and it was a real personal touch to be greeted. We hope to come back sometime in warmer weather.
Tranquility on the Minas Basin
A great property with a comfortable cottage Diner on the deck, watching bald eagles from the dock in the am to stary nights at the camp fire. Lots to do in the surrounding area from Scott’s Bay and Cape split to Halls Harbour or walking the dyke lands We had a great stay
