Great off the grid getaway
We wanted to get away for the weekend and be disconnected from everything so that we could relax. This cabin was perfect for us. Owners are very friendly and gave us tips based on what we wanted to do.
Thank you visiting us at Black Bear Resort. You are welcome to come back anytime.
Take Care & God Bless!

Great place to "get away" but be prepared to be "off-the-grid"
We enjoyed our time at this cabin near Hampton, TN but we were not prepared to be "off-the-grid." I understand no wifi - I can live with that. And, no TV (even though I thought that we would have it if we wanted it). There is a monitor for the DVD player but, to me, "television" means you have access to TV stations - no, you don't. No cable or satellite. But, what threw us totally off is that we had no idea that there would not be any cell phone coverage. We actually had to leave a day early because I had to get ready for a business trip and I NEEDED access to my emails and be able to contact a few people before I was ready to go. So, be prepared. I did catch 5 trout out of the stream that runs through the property, though. And, the two we ate were delicious. In summary, we enjoyed our stay but next time I will make sure that we are not completely cut off from the outside world. I will find a cabin that is remote but not isolated. Linda and Travis are GREAT hosts!
Clean and understanding
Very nice, welcoming and cozy
Very rustic, but clean and cozy!
My husband I decided to plan a last-minute anniversary trip and wanted somewhere we’d be out of cell phone range and close to good hiking. This turned out to be exactly what we wanted!
The cabin is actually part of a collection of cabins, but they’re spaced out for privacy. This one in particular is at the very front of camp, so there’s less privacy, but it’s right by the parking lot and check in/the cantina, which was helpful. Not pictured is a beautiful, huge porch; it has a lovely view, and you can enjoy the sounds of the creek running next to camp. The rest is exactly as pictured. The woodstove is a working stove, and it was our favorite part! It does an excellent job of heating the whole cabin.
Our one and only complaint would be that there are no blinds and the curtains are very thin, so you feel a little exposed going from the shower to get dressed.
The owners were so friendly and helpful! They definitely made our weekend a great experience.
Overall, we highly recommend this property. Great for couples or families with 1-2 kids (futon in the living room).
Comfy accommodation in the wilderness. Very close to hiking not too far from town. A very enjoyable rustic getaway. Thank you for your hospitality.
