Enjoy your own oceanfront accommodations but within a short walk to the center of town. Sitting atop a sloping knoll, this 1920's coastal home has undergone many renovations over the years, each with an interesting story. Additional renovations will begin Fall of 2016 that will further enhance your vacation experience. What has remained constant is its incredible view of the Atlantic.
Each bedroom has it's own bath with shower. The Penthouse, situated at the very top with private balcony, also features a Jacuzzi tub and king size bed.
A sprawling slate patio is perfectly poised for morning coffee or sunset cocktails. It's idyllic views make for a memorable family style dinner or lunch. Stroll down the grounds to the dock with floats and enjoy those cups of coffee or cocktails right on the water while soaking up the view of lobster boats and sailing vessels drifting by. Guests have been known to flag down local lobsterman and purchase fresh-out-of-the-water lobsters for that night's boil. You may even see a curious seal swimming by.
Doing dishes never was so appealing as the kitchen window looks directly onto the harbor for beautiful sunrises.
A short walk to town, but far away enough to have highly sought after privacy during peak season. Due to the nature of the location, we caution parents to be aware of the high patio, sea wall and sloping nature of the grounds when determining appropriateness for children under 16.

Sur La Mer, now The Manor at Mill Point, functioned as a Bed & Breakfast for many years, garnering repeat patrons that really loved to call it home during vacation. With the ongoing challenges of operating not only a B&B, but also a number of other businesses in town, we determined that the home could be of more benefit as a weekly rental to larger groups looking for the perfect spot to make new memories, and likely an annual getaway. With those renovations previously mentioned, the owner's quarters are in a totally opposite wing of the home, complete with our own bedrooms, baths, kitchen, living area, and entrances. You're greeted, given a tour & brief history of the home, and then the adjoining door is locked during your stay, offering your group privacy but having the benefit of issues resolved or questions answered very timely.

Just a short walk to town. Waterfront.
Thanks Shane! I received your package yesterday - thanks for the prompt turn-around. We really, really enjoyed our time at your beautiful home - thanks for your hospitality (and arranging the gorgeous weather!). We'll definitely hope to return again soon.
We booked Sur La Mer for my wife’s 40th birthday. We had 5 couples join over the course of a week and we had an absolute blast. The place has an amazing location – right on the harbor – and a short walk into town. You can actually see lobsters off the dock at low tide! One day we bought lobsters from a lobsterman checking his traps right of the dock. That made for an amazing meal on the huge patio that night. We did yoga on the lawn one beautiful morning. The proprietor, Shane, was extremely accommodating and had excellent recommendations in terms of places to go, to eat things to do. Highly recommended. My wife and I travel a lot and we don’t usually visit a place twice - we may make an exception here.
We are a group of longtime friends who vacation together every year. Sur La Mer offered a very well-appointed house in excellent condition along with a splendid balance of comfort and elegance. We enjoyed our time together in the roomy living room as well as the large patio that offered a spectacular view of the harbor. We took pleasure in the short walks into town for shopping and restaurants. Viewed from the middle of the outer harbor during an evening sail, the stately and picturesque Sur La Mer served as visual confirmation that we had made the right choice for a week vacation home.
Shane was an excellent host and offered the perfect touch in terms of being available to address any of our needs but also ensuring our privacy. He offered a great knowledge of the area and made every effort to ensure that we had an enjoyable experience.
This was a group of childhood friends (nine luxurious women) celebrating a milestone birthday....we had a wonderful time and loved the house. It is hard to find a house with six bedrooms, six baths in Boothbay...but Sur La Mer filled the bill. Easy walk into town and many restaurants and attractions. Homeowner Shane was very helpful and always there when we needed him. Boothbay Harbor is a magical place. If you want to go, stay at this property...I guarantee you will make memories you'll never forget! Thanks Shane! Here's to LRC!
Our family of twelve spent the week of July 4th at this wonderful rental. The location is perfect. When we would tell shop owners in town where we were staying, they would all say 'that's the best view in town', and they were right! The property is very charming (as is the wonderful host, Shane...he became an extended member of our family) and is well appointed and comfortable. The dining room table was huge and perfect for game playing, puzzles and lobster dinners. The house is a very short stroll into town, so the teenagers were able to go in town each day to explore. Wine on the patio is a must at sunset. We hope to make it back again in the coming years!
Sur la Mer was perfect for us. It was a great 2 week family vacation with people from 3 to 70. The waterfront with its deep water dock with plenty of dock space couldn't have been more convenient for our armada of boats and water toys. We availed ourselves of their large mooring as well. The view from the terrace is spectacular and being able to easily walk to town was fantastic. There isn't a place in Boothbay that can begin to touch this place. Our stay was enhanced by a particularly pleasant owner who went out of his way to make certain we were comfortable. Sur la Mer is a faded beauty so if you are looking for posh interiors and updated conveniences she is not for you. She is comfortable and welcoming and for us perfection.
What a wonderful setting for our family reunion. We were close enough to town to walk in, but far enough away to feel secluded. While we were there, we enjoyed lunches at Robinson's, Dunton's Dog House, and Lobsterman's Wharf. We had leisurely dinners at McSeagull's and The Thistle Inn. Our activities included the outstanding Botanical gardens, a walk on Ocean Point, a whale watch, and kayaking. But nothing could compare to the sights seen from the spectacular patio which overlooks the harbor- we saw so many fishing boats, yachts and sailboats, a cruise ship, and a tall ship. And one night there was a double rainbow over the harbor! It was the perfect spot for our 29th family reunion! And don't let me forget to mention Shane- he was the perfect "host"- available when we needed him for questions or recommendations!
