This 100 year old house has been recently brought back to life and it wants to share its warmth with you. This garden level suite features sunny French doors leading into the brand new gourmet kitchen. Quartz countertops, gas stove, dishwasher and double door fridge offer all you need to prepare a gourmet meal or simply reheat some leftovers. Help yourself to coffee or tea anytime with the keurig coffeemaker and curl up on the sofa to watch a DVD from the library.
This place may only be one bedroom, but the sofa converts to a Queen sized bed, perfect for kids or another couple. The master bedroom features a cozy Queen sized bed with plush Duvet. It's so comfy you won't want to get out of bed to shut the blinds. . .and you don't have to. For your convenience the bedroom blinds tilt open and closed on a remote meaning you can wake up to the morning sun with the press of a button.
Don't freeze your tootsies in the morning. The marble floors in the bathroom are heated for your comfort. You'll never want to leave the bathroom, but when you do, you don't have to go far to for a lazy morning sitting in the garden. Later on you may want to enjoy all the charms the neighborhood has to offer with her many shops and restaurants, and then amble down to the waterside and watch the freighters sit at sunset. You can not get a more convenient location in Kitsilano and in Vancouver as everything you need is a few steps away.
Adam and Lauren come from Toronto originally and moved to Vancouver for work a few years back. They loved Kitsilano from the start and had a dream of owning their own home in one of Canada's most amazing neighbourhoods! When they started looking for houses in Vancouver they were pretty shocked by the prices! So when Lauren set her eyes on a neglected triplex in her favourite neighbourhood for the right price, it was love at first sight! With some Interior Design experience under her belt she knew she could bring this 100 year old beauty back to life! Skip ahead a year full of blood, sweat and tears and it's all paid off. They have a beautiful home in their favourite neighbourhood where they can show travelers why this part of the country is so wonderful.
Lauren purchased this house in 2012
Lauren was a warm and welcoming host from the moment I contacted her. She was prompt in her communication, and extremely informative about the local area.
The apartment itself is beautifully decorated, and has excellent amenities to make you feel at home. We particularly enjoyed having our morning coffee outside on the lovely patio.
This was our first visit to Vancouver, and the location was fantastic. We enjoyed walking to Kitsilano Beach, and the city centre was easily accessible by bus.
My husband and I were extremely pleased with this apartment rental, and we will definitely be booking with Lauren again if we return to Vancouver!
We liked the neighborhood and were able to walk to the grocery store and restaurants. The property was very clean and well kept. It was also nice that some basic condiments were available. It is a short drive to downtown or North Vancouver. We were also able to find parking on the street without any troubles.
Bedroom space very limited, access to one side only.
No view at all. Needed to keep blinds virtually shut to ensure privacy which left the accommodation very dark.
Dining stools extremely uncomfortable for older people.
Run down property next door.
Frontage of accommodation dark and dismal.
Bath needs non slip mat for safety.
Few insects found in bathroom and kitchen area.
No kettle for first 2 weeks. One was eventually provided.
Washing and drying facility good.
Boiler room next to bedroom on occasion noisy - low humming.
Noisy footsteps from owners accommodation upstairs sometimes until midnight.
Would not use this accommodation in the future.
We loved our 5 night stay here! It is very bright, clean and quiet. The bed was very comfortable, and the kitchen was
well stocked. Just a wonderful location, close to shopping, restaurants and the beach. Lauren and Adam were very helpful and accommodating.
This place is awesome. It has everything you need and then some. Great location to everything. It is the place you should stay to enjoy the city of Vancouver. Easy access to public transport, great restaurants and Kitsilano. The place itself is perfect, the kitchen has everything you need to cook, if you choose, the bedroom is very large and the bed is super comfortable. Wifi works great and lots of channels on the tv. I would highly recommend this place and will definitely go back.
I really enjoyed my stay here. The place was easy to find and clean when I arrived. It's in a beautiful neighborhood within walking distance to grocery stores, restaurants and liquor stores. I rented a car but didn't drive it much because it was easier to take the bus, which is really close, or walk. There are tours all over town and out into the neighboring cities and mountains which will take you to all the interesting places to see around there. The heated floor in the bathroom was a nice luxury also.
My partner and I have visited Vancouver many times over the last 15 years. We have previously always stayed in a hotel, so staying in Lauren and Adam's apartment was an experiment, and one which paid off extremely well. The garden level apartment is very comfortable, quiet and peaceful, on a tree-lined street of similar old houses, but only a few blocks to 4th Ave and Broadway, which have all kinds of shops and restaurants. It is not too many blocks to the beach, and from the beach you can walk or take the ferry to Granville Island. It is very tastefully redecorated with a modern bathroom (great fixtures!) and very well equipped kitchen, a new flat screen TV and Blu-ray DVD player. The Keurig coffee machine is a nice touch. Linens were abundant and of high quality. The apartment was very clean and tidy. All of this signifies that Lauren and Adam have put a lot of thought into their apartment. I would highly recommend this unit to any couple wishing to stay in Kitsilano, and we will definitely return.
Located in quaint Kitsilano, you are just steps to great restaurants, shops, bars, beaches and parks! Hop on one of the many convenient transit routes or in your car and in minutes you're at the doorstep of world-class museums, galleries and the famous Vancouver Aquarium in Stanley park. Don't miss the Museum of Anthropology at UBC! It's a favourite of mine. Kitsilano is the perfect location to relax and unwind, yet is still just a few minutes from downtown and UBC. If you like the charm of 100 year old neighbourhood with one-of-a-kind shops and restaurants than this is the place for you. Don't forget that we're just a few blocks from the water with some of the most spectacular sunsets Canada has to offer.
