Centrally located and perfect for families, romantic weekends and girls getaways! The Guest House at Washington is a comfortable 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom 1935 farmhouse located on 25 acres and surrounded by dozens of local attractions. The retreat sleeps 6 and has a fully equipped kitchen, full-sized washer and dryer, internet and satellite TV with a DVD player.
Relax and watch the deer, cows, horses, hummingbirds, cardinals, bluebirds, purple martins, chickadees, titmice, house finches, gold finches, woodpeckers and other varieties of birds.
Lie under the stars in the hammock and see the night skies come alive! Sit back and enjoy country living!
This quaint cottage is located between Brenham and College Station in historic Washington, less than 2 miles from the Washington on the Brazos State Park. Surrounded by great shopping, country roads to explore and historical attractions!
The property is owned and operated by Dean and Nancy Heard who lived and worked in the Houston area for years before permanently relocating to a slower pace of life in Washington Texas.
The property has been in Nancy's family for over 100 years. The farmhouse was her Great Grandmother's House but was restored by the couple and was their weekend getaway from life in the city. They now want to share that getaway with others wanting an escape from the city.
The property is not only centrally located between Houston and Austin but centrally located between College Station and Brenham, simply a great location!
Mornings and evening are the best! Listening to the birds, cows, horses and roosters, watching the deer and feeling the breeze. Enjoying the beautiful sunsets and wonderful sunrises! Laying on the hammock at night watching the stars!
Photos of guest home do not do it justice. The house is well maintained with plenty of room to spread out. Amenities as described. Lots of entertainment on the property - outside with horses, dogs, windmill, fish tank, etc. and inside with board games, dvds, large TV, etc. Excellent location for many activities in the area.
Awesome house for a nice relaxing get away with very nice and comfortable accommodations! Our second time to stay here and wont be the last. We look forward to it!
We were in town to shop the antiques fair in Round Top. We shopped all day and we're just at the house to sleep and get ready for the next day if shopping.
This home is exactly as pictured. It is lovingly renovated in an eclectic farmhouse style. The beds are comfortable and
the kitchen is well stocked. I always enjoy having a full size washer and dryer on site. The property is located off of country roads,
so it is best to arrive before dark.
The property was clean and well-maintained. Four ladies rented the house for two nights as a base for the Round Top Antiques Show.
It is about 45 minutes to Round Top.
I can definitely recommend this property. The owner was easily accessible by phone, and brownies and a bottle of wine
awaited us on arrival.
Beautiful farmhouse with all of the charm and character of 1935 but all of the modern amenities of 2016. Super sweet owners made us feel extraordinarily welcome with many personal touches. Super comfortable beds and linens. Fast WiFi, cool A/C. Friendly horses. Shiplap, beadboard, and distressed furniture made it feel quaint (even though it's a good sized 1800sqft). Comfortable, quiet, relaxing, kid-friendly. I can't say enough good things about this place.
This was the perfect spot for our needed Scrapbooking girls weekend. The owners are super nice and accommodating. Cute house on beautiful land. Also, far enough away from Houston but not too far do you feel you've driving forever. Easy to get to. Will definitely go back.
Located one mile from the Washington on the Brazos State Park, Star of Republic Museum and Barrington Living History Farm and a short drive to the Blue Bell Creamery, Fanthrop Inn State Historic Site, Texas A&M University, The George Bush Presidential Library and Museum, Texas Baptist Historical Center, Round Top Festival Institute, Brenham's 'Main Street' District, Round Top Antique Show, Lake Somerville State Park and Trailway, local wineries, Texas Renaissance Festival, Old Baylor Park, and antique shopping. We are surrounded by country roads ready for miles of bike riding, on the bluebonnet trail and adjacent to the Texas Independence Trail.
