About Ali McDowell
We were recently introduced to the Grand Lake area and fell in love with it. So we decided to pursue the dream of owning our own cabin and making it available for others to rent. We are an extended family ownership from the Northern Colorado area. The peaceful, serene location of this cabin is what we have fallen in love with.
Ali McDowell purchased this Cabin in 2013
Why Ali McDowell chose Grand Lake
-There are many reasons we have chosen this area of Colorado to rent out and vacation. Right from our 'front door and cabin' we have spectacular views of the Never Summer Mountain Range. A 20 acre non-motorized lake located 20 yards from our porch in which you can fish, paddle boat or canoe from . An entrance to 250 miles of extended trails for 4 wheeling, snowmobiling, cross country skiing, mountain biking located only a couple miles down the road. The Grand Lake town is only a 5 minute drive and offers great dining and wonderful Grand Lake Views. Everything offered just right from the front door.

Perfect place for 10-12 people
This cabin was the perfect fit for a group of friends on a snowshoeing trip. The size was great, everything was provided, and there were no surprises with the property. The setup is perfect for hanging out as well as cooking large meals. There was plenty of sleeping space as well with the two lofts.
Great place for Christmas with family!
Very accommodating, everyone really enjoyed themselves! Views and atmosphere were perfect for the holidays. Would definitely come back!
Beautiful setting, updated cabin with everything you need
Great place to make some lasting memories with your family. The decor and updates are something you would see in a million dollar mountain home. Thank you for sharing your little piece of heaven with us.
Tips for the next guest
Instructions for many items everywhere made any potential hassle disappear. Everything was labeled to prevent having to search for an item, and the guide book made activities convenient.
The location of dumpsters were rather distant causing confusion which lead to having to search for them in the snow everywhere. Suggesting more dumpster locations.
Fantastic Lake Home. Wonderful Stay.
I cannot say enough great things about this lakeside home. The house was clean upon our arrival and well stocked with clean towels, dishes, kitchen utensils, etc. Everything was in working order. Ali provided us with excellent directions and all the information needed to access the house and its amenities prior to our arrival. She also provided a prompt refund of our security deposit after our stay.
The home was very comfortable. All together we had six adults and four children for a three night stay. There was plenty of room for everyone. The kids absolutely loved sleeping in the lofts at night. There was a paddle boat, two canoes and a kayak available for guest use on the lake. The entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park is less than 5 minutes down the road. There are also bikes available for guests to use.
If I had one suggestion to future guests it would be to bring a double sided kayak paddle if you plan on doing a bit of kayaking on the lake. Paddles are provided but they are one sided canoe paddles. I find the two sided kind more comfortable in a single person kayak. But that could just be me :)
We had a wonderful time and cannot thank the homeowners enough for granting us access to their beautiful home. We plan on another visit in the near future!
Wonderful family getaway!
Absolutely wonderful family getaway! Plenty of room and comfort in this lovely and cozy cabin home, including fun lofts for the grandkids. Mother and child moose sighting early on the first morning. Beautiful mountain views and a quiet little lake. Plenty of elk sightings in and out of the nearby national park. Horseback riding only a short walk away. Amazing number of stars visible at night. Wish we could have stayed longer...
