I am a world traveler who now calls Lexington home. After attending University of Kentucky I settled in to a nice life with my girlfriend Katlyn. Together we manage the property as a side business and enjoy offering guests with a quality place to stay in Lexington!
Matti Pauli purchased this house in 2005
I do my best to keep a comfortable clean environment for people on vacation/business or what have you :)
The location, safe neighborhood, ability to walk or drive to anything quickly is a great benefit to staying at my home in downtown Lexington!
Looking for a place in Lexington for a large group on the bourbon trail was proving to be difficult until I came across this great house. Matti provides an exceptional place to stay located close to the University of Kentucky and can be used as headquarters if your on the Bourbon Trail. The house has 5 bedrooms and plenty of space to move around freely. The Wifi and Bluetooth stereo system was very cool letting us listen to music from anywhere in the house. We got meet Matti when we first arrived and he was very polite giving us tips and tricks on what the locals do for fun in Lexington. There were enough bathrooms for all of us and it truly was the perfect place for all of us to stay. Updated furniture was relaxing and no one complained about sore backs or uncomfortable conditions. If I do the trail again with a group I will definitely be staying here. Thanks Matti for everything.

not anything new to what's been previously written so more of a confirmation this is a great house for a group. housed 6 of us for a golf trip and offered plenty of space for us to not be on top of each other. walking distance to a few places to eat/drink along with a large grocery store nearby.
would recommend and use the house again for future trips.
This is the second time we have stayed here, both times during the holiday season. As we were a family of four, we rented the entire house. The location is great as it is within walking distance to my family, shopping, bars and restaurants. The house is very comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. We highly recommend this property and will be sure to stay there again upon our next family trip to the Bluegrass!
This place is great. I used to live in this neighborhood, and didn't realize there were homes of such a layout on this street. Very interesting split-level design, with two staircases and multiple commons areas. I had a large group and it felt really cozy. Everyone could find quiet space if they needed, or separate areas to hang out. The location is great, and we were just a walk away from plenty of spots to keep us entertained through the Thanksgiving weekend.
Matti is a great host, and I hope to rent from him again!
8 30-40 years rented this deceiving long row house within walking distance of downtown to see the sights of Lexington. Matti was fantastic, helpful and reachable. Kitchen was stocked with supplies and all appliances were in working order. This house was perfect for our needs of exploring Lexington and the Bourbon Trail.
The house was quite unique and everyone enjoyed going up and down the various stairwells and hallways to discover new rooms, some of which had unexpected sinks, showers or toilets! The home is a work in progress (with building materials stored in some back closets and cabinets) - but Matti told us that he's got some great plans for upgrades coming. The beds were very comfy and bedrooms were far enough apart for privacy. The home was pre-stocked with enough towels for everyone and plenty of paper products. Would have appreciated more dressers, hangers, and mirrors in the bedrooms - we were 8 women on vacation after all ;-) The kitchen is perfect for gatherings - (though a few more kitchen chairs would have been appreciated), well supplied with essentials - even a Keurig Coffee Maker and Washer/Dryer - and the television area roomy enough for group watching with updated TV and free WiFi. It is a college town and the neighborhood has quite a bit of student housing, so don't expect pristine yards and homes. However, it was walking distance to the center of downtown, the Chevy Chase shopping district, and a brand new grocery store was just 2 short blocks away.
Now, about the home owner...
Matti was super accommodating and went above and beyond! In 18 years of annual "Girls Trips" he is the most accommodating and personable owner we have ever rented from. We called/texted with various questions and he replied within minutes. One of the girls was celebrating an engagement and he provided TWO downtown bar/dancing bachelorette scenarios for us to enjoy. We also secured him as a chauffeur to Bardstown so we could experience the Bourbon Trail. What a blast! We had so much fun together that we "made" him take us out for beers followed by dinner. We've decided to make Matti an honorary member of the girls group and have requested that he needs to purchase rental homes in Sonoma County, San Antonio, New Orleans, Key West and Paris, France so we can further explore and exploit his bon vivant concierge services!
This split level row house is on a deep lot. Multiple comfortable bedrooms and all of extras in the kitchen, including a grill and outdoor covered area in the back to enjoy the nights as well. Conveniently located in a college neighborhood within walking distance of downtown. We had a great stay here!
The house is nestled on a sleepy one way st in the heart of downtown Lexington. The local grocery store is 2 blocks away, there is dining establishments from the sandwich shop on the corner to fine dining a few blocks away. The neighborhood is safe and community oriented with lots of recreational walking and jogging. at the end of the st is a large and beautiful park that has tennis, basketball, swimming, softball, skateboarding and other activities. The football and basketball stadium are even within walking distance as is the arboretum. It is a short drive to the numerous outlying scenic drives that border Lexington along with horse parks, golf courses, romantic parks and historical landmarks. And don't forget the Bourbon Trail!!!
You will have a blast in Lexington and if you have any questions about what to do while you are here I have a list of helpful suggestions on hand :)
