About Dr. Marzio De Nardo
Me and my sister Antonietta own this spectacular villa in Villammare. Following a huge passion for hospitality, some years ago at this family jewel we decided to open the door to the international quality tourism. Since 2005 so many families from all over the world have chosen Villa Le Cannicelle as location for their family and friends meetings at the beach in Italy. Many of them are keep gathering to the villa along the years for their holiday reunions. Their children feel like home and, when summer arrives, they can't wait to jump again into our beautiful swimming pool. We saw them growing up along the years and some of them can now even speak Italian a little bit. What a great joy for us! As a property owner what we care most is hospitality and my dedication to an excellent service in my role. If you are planning a charming family holiday in Italy please don't hesitate to contact me. The 'dolce vita' is here!

Le Cannicelle is one of the most beautiful and best places I've ever stayed through VRBO. It was clean, comfortable, ideally located, warmly welcoming and fully and thoughtfully equipped. Between the stunning view and the incredible swimming pool, I could have stayed put all week. One tiny suggestion I would make that would bring it to perfection would be the addition of screens to the windows. But the odd mosquito bite aside, we had a dream vacation here and look forward to returning.
A peaceful beautiful spot on the Cilento coast
We spent a week at Villa Mare and we made the perfect choice! Our family is big and it was ideal for all of us, including grandparents and children! The pool is lovely and the sea view is spectacular. Thank you Marzio for making our family welcome and our holiday in Italy special.
We thank you very much for choosing our villa at the sea for your last summer holidays and we can't wait to seeing you next year. Kindest regards from Italy to all of you!
Grazie!
Cilento is an ancient cultural land that has long been identified as the cradle of the Mediterranean. You may have heard of the American biologist and nutritionist Ancel Keys. In recent years, scientists from all over the world have been drawn to Cilento and Acciaroli to try to understand the secret of healthy aging, which means the area is on its way to qualifying as a scientifically confirmed blue zone, alongside the Japanese island of Okinawa, the Nicoya Peninsula in Costa Rica, Ogliastra in eastern Sardinia and the Greek island of Ikaria. As in the other blue zones, there is hardly just one reason why so many people are over 100 years old. For a long life, a combination of healthy food, physical activity, stable social networks and a sense of meaning in life are all needed.
Inspired by the nutritional values and cuisine of countries around the Mediterranean Sea, the Mediterranean Diet, recently named a World Intangible Cultural Heritage by UNESCO, was born in Cilento.
In this fantastic land have been left the marks of the great history, indeed Cilento is universally renowed as the "Land of the Myth" because in the past it hosted important settlements of the Romans, Lucans and Greek. Today inside this limitless territory there are two imperious statements of antiquity: the archeological areas of Paestum and Velia, splendours from the classical period.
The awe of history here is slightly stunning. It was here that the founder of Rome, Aeneas, is said to have made shore first in western Italy after the battle of Troy, and it is also said to be here along the coast that the sirens called on Odysseus with their songs. Whether it is the food, the herbs or the genes is yet to be completely determined, but one thing is for sure, there is certainly lust for life here.
Villammare is an ancient fishing village at the foot of the extensive Cilento National Park. The Park takes in one of the most attractive strip of the Tyrrhenian coast swathed by the vivid colours of the Mediterranean flora.
Long sandy beaches, a colourful seafront fringed with palms and eucalyptus trees, small restaurants, cosy venues and cottages make of Villammare the perfect seaside resort for travellers from all over the world, in search of friendly and charming spots off the beaten track.
Breathtaking views from the hills covered with centuries-old cork oaks, trekking the mountains and cruising along the Cilento coast, mouth-watering regional cuisine and the special friendliness of the locals captivate visitors all year round.
