Property comprises of hallway with stairs to 1st floor. Lounge with open fire with sofa bed. WC. Well equipped kitchen with closed terrace leading to large open terrace with fantastic views to the snowy peaks of the Maiella mountains and rolling hills. Upstairs 3 bedrooms (one double, one twin, with another with bunk beds. Large bathroom with jacuzzi/bath/shower.

There are washing/ironing facilities and generally all you would hope for a comfortable home from home holiday. We have the benefit of English speaking friends who lives a few doors away who will be more than pleased to help you with any problems or advice to make your stay more comfortable and enjoyable...

Come enjoy the all year round attraction, walking and sun in summer/skiing in winter...

About Gaynor Evans

I live in the Wye Valley in Herefordshire which is very beautiful but lood forward to our trips each year to Italy which we adore . We have kept our home in Rapino as authentic as possible. It primarily was going to be just for us but felt it was a place that others should know about and find because of its tranquility and beauty... a hidden treasure. It is a haven of peace having access to the beach and the mountains in equal measure, nestled in the rolling hills of Abruzzo. When we arrive we forget England and immerse ourselves into village life as much as we can with our somewhat limited Italian. The locals are very generous and enjoy visits to the house. We have a lovely neighbour who is on hand to help out when needed and prepares the house for new arrivals. We love to go walking , or visit local villages and sit and watch the world go by. We've used it as a base too for travelling further a field. Rome is a straight road to visit the bustling city but always pleased to head back to the peace and tranquility.

Throughout the year there are local festivals to be enjoyed and join in with at will.. Some days we just sit and relax and read on the terrace and soak up the sun.

Access to the main bathroom is through the master bedroom but there is another toilet downstairs so doesn't normally cause a problem.

Authentic Italy

A very good location in an unspoilt and quiet area. Anyone wanting to refresh their spirt should head here between the magnificent mountains and the sea. Both are within easy reach.

The house has obviously been furnished by someone with a good eye and sense. This all adds to the pleasure of staying here. Any visitor should consider this as a base for visiting other more busy parts of Italy returning here to refresh. Good eating is at hand and the friendly residents will make your stay easy. The quiet airport of Pescara has obvious advantages over the busier airports around Rome. Rome is however not far away by autostrade, 1hr 35mins.

restful holiday home with fantastic views

This is the perfect place for those who want to escape from the bustle of Italian cities.Rapino is one of those classic Italian villages that exist away from the tourist trap and you can spend a day nodding to the locals and just exploring the narrow ,winding streets.It is also a superb base to explore neighbouring hill top towns,the beach or the snow to ski, depending on the time of year!

The house itself is well set up to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The owners provide thoughtful and helpful tips on where to go for food, scenic walks or days out to save you having to think too hard on your holiday! And Gianni your local contact will bend over backwards to be as helpful and welcoming as possible. The biggest selling point has to be the breath taking view on the veranda. You overlook the National Park and from the mists in the morning to the clear afternoons, you never tire of it. We took our 2 Mums aged 75 and we all had an excellent stay and are looking forward to returning soon. A perfect holiday destination.

A week in Rapino beats a year's supply of chianti!

This delightfully restored holiday property is absolutely brilliant. My wife and I cannot recommend it highly enough. From the rear verandah you can see an incredible panoramic view all the way from the Adriatic Sea through hill top villages to the snow capped mountains east of Rome. Rapino is a brilliant example of the unspoiled Italy - far from the tourist traps. A holiday here gives you the chance to meet with real Italians and enjoy great restaurants, friendly local shops and lively markets. Both the ski resorts and the beaches are within an hour's drive. Historic towns and quaint villages are set in countryside that is a joy to drive through. The description on this website is spot on. We can't wait to pay a return visit.

Italien pur

Individuell eingerichtetes authentisches Dorfhaus in einem Dorf außerhalb der touristischen Hochburgen. Nix für Standardtouristen, aber wer Italien nicht pauschal erkunden möchte, ist hier genau richtig. Völlig unkomplizierters In- und Auschecken und auch in Ausnahmesituationen (Fahrzeugpanne) äußerst hilfsbereiter Ansprechpartner (Gianni). Allen bisher abgegebenen positiven Bewertungen können wir uns nur anschließen.

A rénover car en vaut la peine .

vieilles pierres , authentique , jolis village , population agréable , logement à rénover , pas très propre , difficile à entretenir vu le revêtement et irrégularités de certains sols , manque l'air co ,

vu les fortes chaleurs , splendide vue de la terrasse , belle région avec beaucoup de visites .

J'y retournerais ou je le conseillerais s'y ont tient compte de mes remarques .

...und nachts den Wölfen lauschen

Sehr ruhig gelegenes uriges Haus aber dennoch mitten im Ort. Traumhafte Terasse mit Weitblick. Sehr interessante vielseitige Umgebung (Berge, Städtchen, Meer). Sehr unverdorben. Unglaublich nette, gastfreundliche Menschen (Nachbarn). Rapino ist sehr gut gelegen, sodass man binnen 30 Minuten entweder in den Bergen (Nationalpark) oder am Meer (Francavilla) sein kann.

Das Haus ist geschmackvoll eingerichtet, bedarf aber kleiner Renovierungsarbeiten.

Höhepunkt: Abends auf der Terasse sitzen, Montpulciano dÁbruzzo trinken und aus dem nahen Gebirge die Wölfe heulen hören!
