Beautiful property!! Quiet & peaceful!
We loved it here! A group of women came together after reading a book over a couple of months, some of us friends and some of us strangers. We stayed on property the whole weekend to discuss the book, dig into God's Word, eat, sleep, play games, laugh, pray for one another....and left this beautiful place as Sisters! Everything was at our fingertips, all we had to bring was food and clothes! Nick was very easy to work with, answering every question promptly. The only thing we would have loved to have would be Wi-Fi without charge. We would definitely return!
Thanks Valerie, we're so glad you enjoyed the place even though the weather wasn't so great. Please come back again when you can really enjoy the property and the Oregon area. Thanks again for leaving the place in such nice condition.

We were in town for our daughters wedding. Although or visit was short and we knew most of our stay would be at the wedding venue, we wanted someplace quiet and comfortable. Our little bit of down time was spent at Rock River Rentals. It was quiet, comfortable and inviting. The home had everything you could need and more. Unfortunately, we didn't get a chance to enjoy the deck, the fire pit or many other amenities. We did sleep well in the comfy beds, enjoyed quiet breakfasts in the morning, and late night card games around the big dining table. The extra fans in every room were a great added touch, especially getting wedding ready on this hot September weekend. Since many of our children live in Northern Illinois, we are hoping we can come back to take part in all this home has to offer. Thank your for letting us enjoy your home! Jeanne and Bruce Harrison
BTW: We were missing our four legged children, one of which is a great dane, so loved seeing your photos of your pups!
Thanks you two, loved having you. Come back soon.

p.s. trying to get another Dane right now, ours passed away last xmas. They are the best.
location was beautiful and very clean
Overall experience was great. House was extremely clean and anything we forgot we found was provided. Entrance little hard to locate. Warned about bugs but had no problems with mosquitoes. Need flashlight at night. Super dark. Real quiet except sounds of nature. Slept well. Comfortable beds and bedding. Great kitchen with everything provided to cook with aside from food! This was my first time renting and will do it again.
QUITE AND RELAXING
House was immaculate, it exceeded our expectations. The rooms were spacious and beds were very comfortable. The property owner was very informative and gave us directions and recommended places to go and things we could do during our stay. If your looking for a quite location this is the place!
Thanks Patty, we enjoyed having you, thanks for leaving the house in so clean after departing.

Great property on the Rock River
Arriving on property just before dusk, we were greeted by a family of deer just off of the drive way. What a beautiful start to a weekend away!
Our group of four couples getting away from the city for the weekend thoroughly enjoyed the house and surrounding tranquility. Much time was spent on the deck throughout our stay. The river views were serene, and the land around the home provided ample additional opportunities to see deer, rabbits, frogs and other wildlife. This, of course, included the bugs, but this was warned of, expected, and alleviated by the bug spray Nick and Kate provided.
Nick was in regular contact in advance of our trip with helpful tips and to answer any questions. Instructions and rules were clear and straightforward. We appreciated working with them as hosts, and wouldn't hesitate to go back.
While in the area, we floated the river through White Pelican in Oregon, Illinois, and spend some time in nearby Castle Rock State Park. One couple visited the Buffalo at the grasslands as well. All activities are extremely close and easy to do from this home base. Upon returning at night, we grilled dinner and used the fire pit for relaxing and visiting with drinks and smores into the night.
While we didn't spend much time in the house, the kitchen was practical for cooking breakfast and making coffee (rustic cabinets with adequate utensils and supplies, updated appliances), which we enjoyed in the adjoining dining room. The bedrooms perfectly accommodated our group of 8 (one large, three smaller but still big enough for full/queen size beds). We didn't utilize the TV or fireplace, but both amenities were situated in a comfortable living area. And both bathrooms are updated for a nice touch.
Overall highly recommended all around, especially for spending ample amounts of time outside. Although the listing indicates the house is not suitable for young children (understandable given the surrounding woods), the parents among us said they thought it would be a good place to bring their kids, as well.
Thanks Drew, come back anytime we'd love to have you.
The house was clean, accommodating and well-maintained. The owners were very helpful and accessible with any questions. This is a great choice for enjoying the beautiful area.
Thanks Jennifer it was great having you as our guest. Come back soon.
