"THE PITTSBURGH HOUSE" IS THE #1 RANKED SHORT TERM HOUSE RENTAL IN PITTSBURGH
About Property Manager
Sheila and Bob K love the compound lifestyle with their home and art gallery located within steps of one another separated only by a small car park and walkway. For the past thirty years the Couple has lived, raised four kids, and totally enjoyed the eclectic nature of the architecture, the privacy afforded by the private drive, gated entrances, and large parking area. Most recently, however, the ten room "Pittsburgh House" has acted as an accidental guest house since the couples' 2015 retirement from their marketing communications firm which was located in downtown Pittsburgh. And, as fate would have it, the Kellers decided to downsize their lives and at the same time purchased a century old Frank Lloyd Wright inspired farmhouse and vineyard in Chautauqua County, New York. Now, with too many houses with too many bedrooms, Bob & Sheila decided to set-up a small loft apartment within the confines of the adjoining "Eclectic Art & Objects Gallery" and move out of the "Big House" and instead, share it with visitors who are interested in a comfortable, convenient, and affordable extended stay home experience in Pittsburgh. With that background, we welcome you to Pittsburgh and hope that you will choose to stay at "The Pittsburgh House" the next time you visit Th3 Burgh! "The Pittsburgh House" is an Experience...Not to be missed"
Property Manager purchased this House in 1980
Why Property Manager chose Pittsburgh
Since Sheila and I are retired owners of an advertising/marketing firm in Pittsburgh, we sought, in our retirement, a more sedentary lifestyle and decided to restore a century old Prairie School Bungalow on what is left of the Mogen David Wine Vineyard in Western NY, open an Art Gallery, and convert our family house into a world class short stay house rental in Pittsburgh... This is our American Dream!

Great getaway for old college friends
We had a terrific long weekend at the Pittsburgh House. The accommodations were great, the kitchen was perfect for us as we all like to cook. Our hosts were attentive and answered any communication promptly. The back yard with its waterfall and the incredible new grill were lots of fun. Just one warning; the house is next to a very busy street, so light sleepers, beware. It didn't really bother any of us, but you do hear traffic. On the plus side, it was very easy to get out and get to any of the places we wished to visit as the house is on a main thoroughfare. We highly recommend this place!
Thank You for Choosing The Pittsburgh House for your Pittsburgh GetAway ...and the wonderful Review...Just want to clarify your Warning statement is a little confusing in that most of our guests understand that to be at a bus stop and on the same street that delivers you door to door with The stadiums, Casino, Point State Park, Science Center, All North Shore Locations and The Ft Duquesne Bridge... WE ARE THE GATEWAY TO DOWNTOWN PITTSBURGH ... Sheila and I lived in the Pittsburgh House for 35 years Every night without ear plugs and always a peaceful rest....Thanks for the Warning...
Always Our Best!

Our second stay was great!
My family stayed for the second time at this wonderful house. We love the location and all the little extras that were provided to make our stay comfortable and homey. The beds were comfortable and the house was well equipped with extras to make our stay relaxing and homey. We highly recommend this house. We will retur!!
You and your group were wonderful...Thank you for leaving the property as clean as you found it....You are always welcome to stay at the Pittsburgh House!
Our Sincere Thanks

The Pittsburgh House: Spacious bedrooms with very comfortable beds, bedding & pillows, more than 1 bathroom, lots of hot water, plenty of towels, excellent outdoor gathering area (where we spent most of our time) , 2 clean and functional BBQ grills, and a wonderful off-street parking area. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the owners provided us with some delicious coffee for our stay. As a previous reviewer posted, the internet service is spotty. Most of us used our cell phones as hotspots for our laptops and pads. There also is no TV in a common area, so we couldn't watch the Steelers game together. Not a big issue, as we were too busy enjoying each other's company on the mostly secluded deck. which also had great string lights that provided a just-right glow in the evening. The location is great, with easy access to major highways. It's not easy to find city accommodations for a large group, but the Pittsburgh House is exactly what we needed.
Thanks For Choosing The Pittsburgh House for your Family Reunion...You are always welcome to stay at The Pittsburgh House any time that you are Away in Pittsburgh!
Always Our Best!

Great house for a reunion
This house was a perfect setting for my groups of friends to reunite and catch up. The rooms were private and gave us separation, but the deck and dining room table gave us a place to comfortably spend all day together. The house was a great home base to get anywhere in Pittsburgh. There were lots of towels, travel shampoos and cosmetics, and hair dryers in the bathrooms. The kitchen was incredibly well stocked with pots, pans, utensils, tupperwares, and a fridge door icemaker so we enjoyed cooking each day. The deck was awesome and we spent most of our time outside. The large umbrella offered shade, the grill was massive (gas and charcoal!), and the string lights were a great touch for evenings. We brought some games and made use of games already at the house. Booking was incredibly easy and the host was very communicable leading up to our stay. Access to the house was simple and the extra house keys were appreciated as our group split up a few times.
The only negatives were that the house was on a busy road and I wish I brought my white noise machine to sleep more soundly. The internet connection did not reach consistently to the bedrooms so while there were tvs in each room, watching netflix at night was not an option. While the deck was set up like a Parisian cafe with a glass table, iron chairs with cushions, and string lights, the chairs weren't that comfortable to spend all day in while chatting, eating, and alternating cook duties.
Overall, we loved our stay! The house was perfect for our needs. If we meet in Pittsburgh next summer we will consider the house again!
Thanks for the five Star Review...We had a chance to meet you and some of your friends and they all had big smiles when we asked if they were having a good time at the Pittsburgh House!
You also had several helpful comments... i.e. If you heard street noise you must be close to the city and "Therein lies the rub" To deal with street noise within city limits you have to either move the house to the country or sit back and enjoy the convenience of Pittsburgh in your back yard... IDEA for next years reunion..."The Westfield House" HA 4978180 our "Wine Country" home in Western New York...7 acres, on Lake Erie with lots of quiet time and a matching Monster Grill...Take a Look and Book Now... P.S. The only room with traffic noise is the Sun Room/Day Suite which is our spare room and the only place in the house where you can hear traffic noise at rush hour... It is called the "Day Suite" for that reason...
Secondly, The internet issue was a fluke, and was caused by a four day recurring black-out by Comcast Network.. They gave no cause and no apology...The four day blackout started at about 7:00 PM each evening and lasted until after midnight. We never found out why but all the neighbors are furious and we now have a new internet carrier.... The new service is wonderful on all six SMART TVs (Ready for your next stay)
Thirdly, We just spent $1,500.00 on that Umbrella Table and Chairs There are four chairs and two love seats on the terrace, my advice is to rotate seating if you were uncomfortable and we will check to see if we need thicker cushions (also new)...
We appreciate your comments and take all input seriously...
You left all twelve rooms in wonderful condition and remember, you and your group of grad school friends are always welcome at The Pittsburgh House....
Always Our Best!

Great location and beautiful property
We had a home remodel that required us to move out for (3) nights with an infant, toddler and two dogs. The Pittsburgh House was a perfect house for our stay. The property was kid and animal friendly and the owners were very friendly and knowledgeable of the area. We found our stay very relaxing and comfortable. Hope to find our way back sometime in the future.
Gretchen & Martin and your beautiful children and pets help to demonstrate the ultimate promise of The Pittsburgh House ....which is to provide our guests with a Comfortable, Convenient, and Memorable Home for our renters while they are away in Pittsburgh... We thank you for helping Sheila and I celebrate our first full year with HomeAway/VRBO... We have been so fortunate to attract so many wonderful families and friends to The Pittsburgh House over that time... Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! Always Our Best! Bob & Sheila
Fabulous location, bus stop at end of driveway, beautiful & comfortable home!! Great experience!
Thank you for the Five Star Review... What a great family (three generations of avid baseball fans) on a "road trip" who stayed at The Pittsburgh House long enough to catch two games at PNC Park before moving on to the next city on their amazing baseball tour across the country...Always welcome to stay at our house anytime/any season....Good Luck on your amazing road trip...
Always Our Best!

Pittsburgh is a thriving city of bridges, rivers, skyscrapers, and inclines. It is a city of contradictions where small middle class neighborhoods and palacial estates share the same zipcodes. It is a place where technology, medicine, science and finance are just as important to the local economy as mining, manufacturing, and the many labor trades. It is also a diverse place where black, white, yellow, and brown are just colors in your crayon box and not a divisive indicator of cultural or class status.... Some of the venues and attractions that visitors and locals enjoy are The Rivers Casino, Carnegie Science Center, The Warhol Museum, National Aviary, Heinz Field (home of the Pittsburgh Steelers), PNC Park (home to the Pittsburgh Pirates), John Heinz Smithsonian Museum ( full of Pittsburgh history and memorabilia), Strip District (Pittsburgh's warehouse district where street vendors and shop keepers sell international products, as well as fantastic shopping, Dining, browsing etc.) Then slow down and visit The Frick Art Center, The trendy exhibitions at The Mattress Factory Art Center, Then browse the upscale shops and restaurants in Sewickley Village, or the historic museum tour of Old Economy Village, and don't forget where you live at the Eclectic Art & Objects Gallery opposite The Pittsburgh House...Pittsburgh Inclines
Station Square RR Station/Dining/Shopping
