Description

Rhinecliff House Rental Photos and Description

2 Bedrooms, 1 Bathroom, Sleeps 4. High-speed Internet, Cable TV

You should probably rent this home for a few days because it will take about that long to take your eyes off the river and realize there is even a house on this spectacular property. When you finally do you will be pleased to find a charming riverfront home perched on a high bluff overlooking the river allowing the views from the front terrace to stretch just that much further.

The home was renovated in August 2013 and features hardwood floors, stainless steel appliances and abundance of windows perfect for taking in the view and letting in plenty of sunlight and fresh air.

The second level features two bedrooms (one King, one Queen bed) and a bathroom. The lower level has an eat-in kitchen, living room and enclosed porch. We even added a small bed to the porch just for enjoying cool nights and fresh air.

The property is 1.5 acres in size so it feels very private, especially the lawn areas closer to the river.

Please note, the property owner does not allow gatherings of more than 20 people.

Take-your-breath-away views

Private aerie above the lovely and languorous Hudson River. Amazing little gem, perfectly appointed. Comfortable living room, well-functioning kitchen, cute bathroom and comfortable beds. (wish there was a downstairs powder room...) A great space for a mini getaway. Friend and I cooked up a storm, and enjoyed our meals in the dining area after long sessions in the outdoor adirondack chairs with a wee nip of local bourbon as the sun set. We had time to ponder which planet was that appearing at dusk. (hint: Venus!). Really well located for outings to Rhinebeck, local hikes, Wilderstein house tour. Can't recommend it enough!

Lovely but tiny

  • 4 of 5

The views of the Hudson are indeed lovely and the house was clean and the bedding very comfortable but it is very very tiny. My husband is 6'5" and the mirror in the bathroom was so low he had to stoop to see. The beds barely fit in the bedrooms leaving no room for bedside tables or dressers in the master. Everything was diminutive in order to fit, including the TV. For what it is, it was very nicely maintained but too small for us to consider returning.

Peaceful Cottage with Great Views of the Hudson

  • 5 of 5

Had a great experience staying here for a wedding. Amazing views of the Hudson and ample space for a party of 5. Had a great visit and this rental was the perfect retreat. Close to all major attractions in the town, FDR museum, and other attractions in short driving distance. Great experience and home was well maintained.

beautiful house, amazing views!

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely time at this beautiful house perched on the edge of the Hudson River. The house is super cute, very nicely designed and appointed, and the view over the river to the distant mountains is just amazing. The patio is the perfect spot to sit outside with a cup of coffee in the morning, or glass of wine to watch the spectacular sunset over the river at night. The beds are very comfy and we loved the charming screened in "nap porch". We had some hot and sticky weather during our stay, so were very glad to have air-conditioning, but it also cooled down done nicely at night in the evening and the mornings were always perfect to sit outside and gaze at that beautiful river. The house is perched on the hill high above the Amtrak train tracks, and while you can't see the trains going by, you do hear them from time to time. This did not bother us at all, but it's something to be aware of. The Rhinebeck area is chockablock the fun things to do including more historic houses and mansions than you could possibly hope to visit in one vacation, lots of really great restaurants and shopping just 5 minutes away in town, and abundant opportunities for appreciating nature, hiking at the Poet's Walk, Ferncliff Forest, etc. The property is very well-managed, and the people we dealt with when booking were friendly, prompt, and responsive, making the whole process hassle free. We highly recommend this house!

Perfectly located and loaded with charm! Anyone looking for a peaceful getaway should rent this home. My cousin and I thoroughly enjoyed the view, close proximity to Rhinebeck, Hudson and the CIA. Looking forward to staying here again!

Absolutely lovely

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely adored this house, which we stayed in for a July 4 weekend getaway from New York City. It was only my boyfriend, my dog and I, but the house easily can accommodate a family of 4 or two couples (if you don't mind sharing the bathroom). The view of the Hudson is stunning and calming, and there is enough room on the property to run around with the dog or play games. You're just a few minutes down the road from the town of Rhinebeck, which has cute little restaurants, a farmers' market, and neighborhood shops. The house is perfectly clean, well furnished and set up with everything you could need-- from fluffy white towels to board games to a fully equipped kitchen with new pots and pans. Really, the pictures do not do justice to the sweetness of this home. We will definitely be back.

Nestled in the heart of the Hudson Valley, Rhinebeck has something for everyone. Two hours from New York City by car or by Amtrak, the village has a small town feel with cute shops and a wonderful vibe. With the Culinary Institute only 15 minutes away, the whole region is peppered with great restaurants, farmer's markets and local meat and produce shops. There are countless parks where you can take a casual stroll over looking the Hudson or do some of the most serious hiking and rock climbing on the East Coast. Rich in history, the Hudson River Valley has historical sites, mansions to tour and old towns and villages, some dating back three hundred years. You can get a taste of country life with a hayride or pick-your-own farms or explore nearby places like Woodstock, Hudson, Millbrook and Kingston. For the kids, there is the Old Aerodrome, which has antique airplanes on display and air shows. For older kids, horse farms, sportsman’s clubs, golf courses, and dozens of streams and lakes for fishing surround Rhinebeck. Bard College and the Fisher Center for the Arts is only ten minutes away.
