This very large one bedroom, two bath condo features a full ocean view and is approximately 1,000 sq ft. There is a video tour as well as new pictures to come soon which will show better how large the condo actually is. Living, kitchen and dining all in a great room with an extra large lanai to dine and relax while you watch the beautiful sunsets. The condo also features free WiFi and a flat screen TV. The kitchen is supplied with dishes, pots and pans as well as spices most will need to prepare food. The master bath has an extra large 4ft shower, the bathtub was removed and made into a large enclosure. Elevator and new updated stairs and walkways lead to this top 3rd floor condo with under building parking. There is a swimming pool which rarely has anyone there with barbecue, sink and table and chairs. It's a great place to entertain a few friends if you have any on the island, and the ocean is just 50 steps away! The only thing missing is you.

Favorite Beach: Mau-umae Beach

Located in The Mauna Kea Resort property. Drive up to the guard gate at the entrance of the resort. Ask specifically for a pass to Mau-umae Beach. (pronounced Mow Mai) They only give out a few passes each day. Arrive before 10am to ensure a pass. This beach is a soft, sandy, secluded beach, with gentle water access. The water is shallow (2-3 ft deep) for 100 feet out. There are no breaking waves and the water is calm and

crystal clear. Bring a cooler with water and snacks. Bring a beach umbrella and chairs, for an awesome day of peace and tranquility.

Best Beach Close To Condo: White Sands Beach

It is about a 5 minute drive south of the condo, right on Alii Drive. It has soft sand, easy water access, and great waves for boogie boarding. Snorkeling is great, if you snorkel out to the right side, by the sea wall. There are always many sea turtles hanging out here.

The Big Island Candy Company: A MUST SEE!!!!! Outrageous hand made chocolates and chocolate delights.

Snorkeling is the best thing to do. It’s free and it is awesome. Kona has some of the clearest waters in the world. The water is warm and filled with creatures. You often see sea turtles, fish, dolphins, crabs, eels, manta rays, and other animals while snorkeling around Kona. The Place of Refuge has some of the best snorkeling.

I will send you a comprehensive list of my favorite activities and restaurants upon your reservation to use to plan the activities you will do during your stay. One can also be found on site to you at your arrival so you don't have to bring your own.

About Claudine St. Avalos

I'm a long time resident of both the San Francisco Bay Area of California and Reno Nevada. A former real estate agent, I've traveled extensively since retiring. I visited my nephew in Kona frequently over the years and have always loved the area. My late husband and I have fabulous memories of the the Big Island. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

Why Claudine St. Avalos chose Kona Coast

It is a quiet complex to get away and enjoy each other's company.

What makes this condo unique

It has a fantastic view of the ocean from the lanai and is also very close to two beaches that are great for numerous activities for your family.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Your condo was very comfortable. The spacious lanai equipped with spectacular ocean views was exactly what we had hoped for and as an added bonus, your condo was very quiet and secure.

From the lanai, we enjoyed the frequent surfer show and other activities of all kinds such as fishing, swimming, bike riders, joggers, some snorkeling, etc., etc. The past week, a couple of turtles have lingered in the shallow lagoons right across the street. I am a golfer so I enjoyed 3 rounds at Wiakola (suggest golfers buy the Hawaii Golf Card). As you suggested, in Hilo we had a great lunch at Ken's and stopped by the Candy Factory. Also, just outside Kialua, the open air restaurant at the fisherman's wharf dock is worth a stop as well as all the nearby beaches. Today we went para-sailing and had a perfect weather day for it. My wife really enjoyed this adventure as it was on her list, you know, "the list".

We hope your future guests enjoy their stay as much as we have.

Quiet & Relaxing Oceanfront Location, and Close to Everything

  • 5 of 5

Both Claudine and Michael were extremely accommodating and made us feel at home in paradise. Tastefully furnished, comfortable and well-equipped for the two of us. We spent many hours enjoying the view from the lanai, snorkeling nearby, and having a swimming pool all to ourselves. Lots of recommended sights, restaurants and shops described in the binder on the desk. Thanks!

Good location and amenities

  • 5 of 5

The location of the condo -- a five-minute drive to Kona's center -- was just about ideal. We worried that its being on Ali'i Drive might mean a lot of congestion, but that was not the case. Most of the area has buildings on both sides of the street; this building has only a lovely bay directly across the street, with a great view of sunsets, whales, surfers and snorkelers. The place is far enough out of the city yet close enough to what we wanted. It is not far to a good farmers market, so we had fresh food to cook in the well-supplied kitchen.

Having a W/D was convenient, and the dishwasher made cooking way more fun than otherwise. When we arrived, there was a fresh fruit and vegetable basket waiting for us and a spectacular Bird of Paradise (and other local flowers) arrangement on the dining room table.

The bed was very comfortable, and yes, having 2 bathrooms very convenient. We didn't use the A/C much, but it worked fine and quietly. Parking was fine and the elevator worked the whole time we were there. We never used the pool, but it was well kept and never appeared to be crowded. We drove all over the Big Island from there during our three-week visit.

The owner was as accommodating as could be. A thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Great place

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for a week, and it was really wonderful. Hard to beat the view of the crashing surf across the street. Nice lanai for sitting and having a cup of coffee or the sunset. It was great to have all of the things you need like salt and pepper, oil, etc. so you don't have to go and buy the basics. Nice big spaces, good wifi, very quiet bedroom at the back, and a large bath with walk in shower. The pool area with bbq is nice and the pool is lovely and the perfect temperature. Close to everything. You will need a car, though. You'll enjoy it here.

Gorgeous view

  • 4 of 5

We loved the location of the condo. It has a wonderful view of the water, whales breaching, spinner dolphins, turtles, surfers and paddleboarders from the lanai. We walked Alii drive every morning and swam in the lovely pool every afternoon. The kitchen is well appointed with every kind of spice and seasoning you'd want, so no need to buy. Having two bathrooms was also an added benefit as was the washer and dryer.

Parking is tight, so you want a smaller car and the elevator was on and off when we were there, so did a lot of stairs, but think they had this fixed by the time we left.

Lovely Lead In to a Great Vacation

  • 4 of 5

We came to Kona a week before the family crowd arrived and found a perfect spot to unwind and relax. Lovely view. Small, quiet, comfortable condo. Very well equipped, clean and welcoming. A beautiful arrangement of flowers awaited us and we appreciated the binder the owner put together to guide us on our vacation. It was great to be close to Kona to explore the area before we moved further north. I particularly enjoyed walking with the energetic just outside the condo. The owner was very friendly and easy to work with/make arrangements. Enjoy!

We were sightseeing on the island and decided to try a condo instead of a resort. I'm so glad we did! This place had everything we needed and the location was perfect. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a place to stay while in Kona!
