Upon entry we encountered a charming cottage feeling home perfectly designed for our family needs. Every time we thought we needed something it was there already. It enabled us to have a center point to come back to after a long day of sightseeing. The only negative may have been was that one of the beds was a little soft.

We got what we paid for

We planned this trip on short notice and this is the only property that responded. It was priced quite reasonably, but provided few frills, low master shower water pressure (and I mean very low pressure), and a location on the corner of two busy roadways. Don't count on relaxing on a back patio, the backyard is virtually inaccessible with all patio furniture, gas grill, etc. on a front patio overlooking the traffic. In fairness, it is located quite conveniently near historic downtown and on the road to the snow bowl and the Grand Canyon. Bring your own soap for showering and all other necessary toiletries. Also, don't plan on using the fireplace after APril 1 even if temp in the forties. We never could get the television with its four remote controls to work. The kitchen was very nice, and the living room area was semi-comfortable. Furnishings not particularly comfortable or relaxing, although sleep number bed was great.

This was not advertised as a luxury property, and it is not. It is a good alternative to Embassy Suites if traveling with a family or group. It was clean and well-maintained. I am usually looking for a little more in a hotel or rental, so I would not return or recommend. But if on a budget and if okay with a heavy dose of rusticity, this rental offers significant value.

Owner's Response: We had not had a complaint regarding water pressure, I have since checked it and it seems normal. The front patio is well equipped and very nicely landscaped to reduce visual of any traffic. The gas fireplace is not the main source of heat there is a forced air heater so in the warmer months we shut down the fireplace but the main furnace is still in operation all year around in the case of colder temps. You can not please everyone it seems but if you look back at all the other reviews we are a 5 star house and well worth the value of the quality of the home compared to the price.

This home was perfect for our stay. We were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary with our adult children and visiting Grand Canyon, Sedona and other sites. This location was perfectly located for our daily travels. The home was very clean, the kitchen and appliances were perfect! Everything we needed was there including cooking utensils and towels. A basket of coffee was greatly appreciated and used! The small bedroom bed was a little unstable, but all the other beds were very comfortable. We really felt at home and would rent this home again!

As advertised - clean and well-provisioned

The location near historic downtown was great and it was easy to park our 2 cars in the driveway. We were a little worried about street noise since it is near a major street, but it was fine. The fireplace was great for the cold nights. The laundry machines were quiet. Everything we needed was in the kitchen. I liked having the master bedroom on the opposite side of the other bedrooms. It gave everyone (3 generations) plenty of space. The dining table was spacious, and the wifi was good. We would stay here again.

Family vacation

Older home, appeared to be well maintained when we arrived. We did have several problems during the stay though. The dryer was not working which we found out on our way there. We packed light having a 15 hour drive expecting to be able to use the washer and dryer. We were told we could hang things to dry however, there isn't anywhere to hang them so we ended up bringing them to a laundromat to dry. The washing machine was leaking, the dishwasher soap latch was broken. Owner says this was disclosed in check in document. I did not receive the check in document though until the day before check in and after going back to review it, still did not see where it stated that. Day bed fell apart while my nephew was laying on it. Had to go get screws and screwdriver to fix it so he would have somewhere to sleep. Also was not told until after we left that the neighbor living behind was taking care of the home while the owners were out of town. We started noticing the trash was being taken out of the trashcan which is located right beside a man door on the side of the house going in the bedroom closet (converted bedroom from garage space). Also saw man walk into the backyard and get into the shed. Owner told us they would not be in town during our stay, but no one notified us that someone might be on the property or emptying the trash and when you have small children in the home that is very concerning. Since we didn't know who was messing with things, we would not allow the children outside without an adult. The home was in a good location, walking distance to grocery store. There is some noise from the main street beside the home when in the front patio area.

Owner's Response: Check in instructions are always sent out immediately after final payment is made you could not find them in your inbox that is when I resend them. The dishwasher latch was broken but the dishwasher functions fine if you just throw the soap in it with the dishes, and it is stated clearly in the attached House Rules Document in the check in email. The dryer was broken at the time because of a repair that needed to be made with wear and tear on a property from different guests staying there are repairs that will need to be made and it takes time to get parts in. I did communicate prior to your arrival at the dryer part was on order and of the dryer would need to be repaired you then asked for the nearest laundromat which I provided you the name address and phone number. The dryer is now fixed and in running order. There is a second home on the property, that my brother lives in he takes of the yard and other outdoor maintenance. Because you had so many people staying at the home your trash was continually overflowing and he was trying to be nice and move it to the overflow can so that you would have more room for your trash. We were out of town but very attentive to your emails and I believe we addressed all these items with you.

Highly recommend!

We had a 3 night stay here and we loved it! It was 2 families (2 adults, 3 kids and 2 adults, 2 kids) and we had more than enough space for everyone. The house is absolutely charming and location is perfect for getting into town or Snowbowl.
