Nice Cozy Place, But the Driveway....

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay here Thanksgiving week. We are a family of 5 and there was ample room for everyone to sleep with the sofa bed. The outdoor hot tub was great and relaxing we really enjoyed it. The indoor tub in the living room looked a bit strange but the kids really enjoyed it, especially when it was cold outside. The home was very cozy and clean. The kitchen was well appointed with the exception of the electric can opener which was very dull and took forever to open canned goods. I reported this to the office, so hopefully they will replace this. The view was very nice, you could see downtown Gatlinberg all lit up at night. There were 2 games downstairs that the kids really enjoyed. The driving game was WAY TOO Loud and we discouraged them from using that one since it drove the adults crazy. I called the office and they said there was no way to lower the volume on it. The kids were fine with not playing this one and preferred the other game anyway so it worked out. The washer and dryer in the unit were great since we were there a week, this came in handy! My only reservation about this property is the STEEP Driveway. The Ski Mountain road to get there is pretty winding and curvy and I thought IT was a steep ride up to the cabin but nothing prepared me for the driveway. It looks pretty unassuming at first until you actually drive up. It is not a dirt driveway, it is paved and the cement has little grooves to help with traction. Even given this, the wheels would spin on our SUV when going up, and the right back tire would come off the ground when making the turn up. This was very stressful for me more than anyone else and I wasn't the one driving. My husband always got us all the way up the driveway. I don't think I would have been brave enough to conquer this. A hint at getting all the way up is to stay on the gas pretty hard and "not let up on the gas" when making the right turn all the way up. You can also drive straight and just park half way up but this was challenging to back up and get back down. OR you can park at the very bottom and walk all the way up which is what I would have done. We really enjoyed the stay here but I probably won't be back just because of the driveway! LOL. If you like a thrill, this is the one for you!

Awesome Place

  • 5 of 5

We got the same Cabin as pictured. thats good

Spent our quality time with family and friends, and the location is good.

The space was clean and charming and the views absolutely fabulous. Would Definitely stay here again, and ease access to Gatlingburg and Piegon forge.

1) Spa and Jacquci are good, and bed and linens were perfect.

2) View is good, saw good colors. and spotted a bear, and snow

3) More spacious and perfect place to stay.

We parked car near the driveway end, since we were worried about steep, and walked

Cons: steep driveway to cabin, if they construct small stairs in future it will best for all age. groups.

The property was great

Also we had a bear family with us all weekend. The bear opened the door to my brothers car for a McDonald's bag. Then we had the garbage on the second floor balcony and mama bear shimmer the post and had her teeth on the garbage bag on the middle of the day we got the garbage bag back and my brother talked to her all the way down. So o guess you could say we had a beary good time 😊

Wonderful for family or small group of friends! Beware the steep drive.

The space was clean and charming and the views absolutely fabulous. The house is nestled at least halfway up a mountain where the Ober Gatlinburg tram can be seen ascending and descending. We stayed there with our four children, and we all had a blast playing the old time video games, ordering Ski Mountain pizza, and enjoying the wildlife viewings. The location is perfect to get to just about anywhere in the region and not get too caught up in traffic. The area offers so much we didn't even use the club house, but we did check it out, and there was that much more that could have entertained us including pool, tennis, shuffleboard, work out equipment and more. This would be a great place for a family with kids or 2-3 couples to share for a comfortable and affordable getaway to the Smokies!

Great view!!!

Perfect for our family, spent most of the time upstairs relaxing. Fast access to downtown, pizza place at the foot of hill was great to bring back and just enjoy the view. Went for spring break, not crowded including Dollywood. Would Definitely stay here again.
