Morganton Lodge Rental Photos and Description

3 Bedrooms + bunkroom, 3 baths, Hot Tub, Pool Table, Fire Pit

Majestic Creation is a ridge top Mountain Home centrally located between Blue Ridge, Murphy, NC, and Blairsville. We are confident you will not find a more spectacular view in the North Georgia Mountains. It inspires peacefulness and relaxation.

A 25 to 30 minute drive will bring you to downtown Blue Ridge, Murphy, or Blairsville and door to door the Cabin is about 35 minutes away from Harrah's Cherokee Valley River Casino and Hotel in Murphy: https://www.caesars.com/harrahs-cherokee-valley-river

We decorated the Cabin to invoke a private lodge feel. It has two large master suites -- one on the main level and one upstairs in the loft area – and a separate bedroom with two twin beds in the basement. Each master suite includes a semi-private, enormous bathroom. The basement bathroom was completed in stone, including the stone shower. Wi-Fi is available and Dish Network provides television, but why watch TV when you can sit on the rocking chair and soak in the view?

The main level bedroom has a king bed and direct access to the middle deck and breathtaking mountain views. The main level bathroom has a shower and separate Jacuzzi tub with a single vanity and a laundry room with washer and dryer.

Also located on the main level is the kitchen with granite counters, open dining area with a hand-made dining table, Old Hickory chairs, and a bar area. Total seating for 8. The open main area includes the family relaxing room with a vaulted ceiling and floor to ceiling windows so that you are never denied the miles of mountain views. Our six foot wide Elk overlooks the stone wood fireplace. He is flanked to his left by one of the few mounted black bears you will find anywhere in Georgia (she was legally taken in Maine). Our mounted Bison hangs on the wall above the stairway to the loft, completing our family room trio of Majestic animals. Off the main-level family room is an outdoor wood fireplace with a gas grill and picnic table.

Two beautiful mounted fowls are above the Elk, leading to the loft area where a large-mouth bass overlooks our family movie area and a hungry bobcat tries to disrupt the quails' nest in the corner. There is a 55 inch flat-panel HD television, leather sofa and loveseat, and a writing desk.

The loft bedroom contains a king bed and a private deck, which -- at just over 2200 feet in elevation -- claims the best views south toward Lake Nottely and the Georgia mountains. The loft bathroom has dual shower heads in a tiled shower and a double-vanity.

The basement was finished in July 2013 to add a pool table area with a vented gas stone fireplace. The pool table was custom-made to fit the rustic, lodge theme. A separate television sits on the mantel and is flanked by a mounted black bear (also taken in Maine) and a large, South Georgia mounted beaver. A queen sleeper sofa is located in the basement. A wet bar, game table, and cozy bunk bed nook (under the staircase) complete the family fun area. A separate bedroom with two twin log beds is located in the basement along with a full bath with a stone shower.

A separate lower deck can be accessed from the pool table room and from the basement bedroom. The lower deck boasts a 6 person Hot Springs Vanguard Hot Tub with jets so strong you’ll think you just paid for a professional massage. Just 4 steps off the deck and just below the Hot Tub is a stone fire-pit with rustic wood benches for roasting.

Our mountaintop getaway will sleep 10, but there is a MAXIMUM of 6 adults allowed per rental. It is decorated as a mountain lodge with custom-made furniture on every level. Triple decks, 3 fireplaces and a fire-pit, a hot tub, Wi-Fi throughout -- we like to think of it as “roughing-it” in luxury.

About Kevin

We live in metro Atlanta, but fell in love with visiting the North Georgia mountains for vacation the last 5 years. Number one on our list was always view, followed by luxury. We wanted to escape to somewhere nicer than were we lived, place we would be talking about for years afterwards. So when we decided we wanted to purchase our own mountain getaway, we decided to make it into what we believed would be the perfect vacation spot. Beautiful view, lodge-like luxurious furnishings, plenty of space, fire-pit, hot-tub, family gathering areas for movies and games -- we put it all into this home. We also loved the wildlife theme we saw in some cabins we rented. So, we went out and gathered some of the most unique animal mounts you will find, from our Elk and Bison to our Black Bears, Beaver and Fowl. And if you can never really be unplugged, we have that covered to with Wi-Fi and Dish network. We love this place and believe our guests will as well.

Kevin purchased this lodge in 2013

Why Kevin chose North Georgia Mountains

We viewed around 20 properties in the winter of 2013 and fell in love with this one as soon as we saw the first photo of the view on Zillow. We called our agent, saw it the next day and knew that it would be hard for any other property to match the standard set by this, which we took to calling 'Majestic Creation'. The bonus was an unfinished basement, which allowed us to add our own finishing touches to make this our perfect mountain retreat.

What makes this lodge unique

The view, the view, and the view. Three levels of decks, a neighborhood at the top of the ridge line with only six homes (a seventh under construction). Centrally located in a triangle created by Blue Ridge, Blairsville, and Murphy, NC. Hiking, horseback riding, shopping, lake sports, hunting, and eating are all convenient to our mountaintop escape.

Great Cabin! So much to do and an unbelievable view!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at this cabin! It has everything you need. There are cabins on each side of the home so it is not secluded as others. But the view totally makes up for it! The porch is awesome and so is the fire pit. We all loved to play pool every night and the Wii is a fun addition. The hot tub is THE BEST! Used it every night! We were there on a full moon and could not believe the beautiful night sky.

We had such a great time and hope to return during the different seasons! Even our kids ages 7 and 13 want to stay again. Thanks for sharing your home!

Breathtaking View

  • 5 of 5

The most notable thing about this location is the view of the landscape seen from the multiple balconies this house has. Last year, we rented a cabin in Blue Ridge for around the same price and the view cannot even compare to what this cabin has to offer. The house itself is very spacious and comfortable. It comes fully equipped with a nice kitchen, washing machines, several beds, wifi and a jacuzzi. The front door uses an app to unlock, so I didn't need to worry about loosing a key. Once you set up the e-key, the front door opens with one touch when the app is open. I would definitely recommend this cabin.

LOVED this property, owner was great about last minute booking, COUNT the bears! :)

  • 5 of 5

This review is way overdue, I was just a little too emotional to get it all out immediately. This was such a special trip/place for us. First, let me say that my husband and I have been taking a trip to the mountains the second weekend in Jan since we met, it's his birthday weekend and we both have to work a ton over the holidays, so for us it's a great chance to reconnect and just have a really relaxing weekend - it's our policy to not even turn on the tv!

Unfortunately this year tragedy struck our family. On Dec 20 my mom went in for what was supposed to be routine surgery to repair a broken ankle & due to complications ended up going into a coma from which she never awakened & she then passed away on Dec 31st. We were 6 hrs from our home for 18 days living out of a suitcase in the hospital. My husband & I both woke up in a hospital room on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and NYE and on New Year's Day had to start planning my mother's funeral. We buried her on January 5th. The most unbelievably sad holiday season ever had passed us by and it looked like we weren't going to take our annual trip either as I had not booked anything due to everything going on. I decided I was going to try to find somewhere for us to go last minute so that we at could at least hold on to something special for the holidays.

I requested the room late on the 7th for an arrival on the 8th & the owner was nothing but gracious & was able to get us in & still managed to have a lovely gift basket waiting for us! We walked into the beautiful, homey cabin and found that the Christmas decorations were still up! You have NO IDEA how much this meant to us! We got to redo our Christmas in this beautiful cabin and we will be FOREVER GRATEFUL!

Now that I've told my sappy story, about the cabin! :)

The bed on the main floor was SUPER comfortable. The upstairs shower was awesome and super romantic, my husband and I both loved it! The double shower heads cannot be beaten! The glass everywhere gave the cabin so much natural light. The kitchen was well stocked, pretty much had everything we needed. However, we are foodies so we did bring a cast iron skillet and our own set of knives.

We loved the bear motif and my husband and I made a game of counting how many bears and keeping track all weekend and then trying to see who had found the most at the end.

We loved this cabin and would definitely come back in a heartbeat!

nice house, nice view, nice amenities, nice time.

could have done without all the dead animals...everywhere, and I mean everywhere. On the walls, tucked in the corners, even under, I repeat under, the pool table.

lots of live lady bugs, and dead other bugs.

overall a nice time

Owner's Response: Glad you had a nice time. Unfortunately, in the winter, it is impossible to keep lady bugs out of Blue Ridge mountain homes. For others who may be interested, if the photos don't reveal it, we have a lot of taxidermy in the home. Thanks.

absolutely fantastic

  • 5 of 5

Views of sunrise from back deck were priceless. Cabin was perfect. Very clean. Bathrooms were great. Our party consisted of 4 adults and 3 children. Tons of room for us to easily spread out. Kids loved the bonus built-in bunk beds off play room. Owner was pleasant and available for questions. Small towns of Blue Ridge and Blairsville were no more than 25 minutes away. Each offer great food and shopping. Ingles grocery store (similar to Publix) was less than 15 minutes from the cabin. A ton of fire wood was at our disposal. Excellent hiking, waterfalls, etc are nearby. Did not want to leave.

A Complete Cabin

  • 5 of 5

This cabin has everything you'd want. The check in smarphone "app" to unlock the doors functioned correctly. Though I could see the process of downloading and registering the app being intimidating to less tech friendly renters. But Kevin has back up methods of accessing the cabin if necessary.

After not receiving any checkin information 48 hours prior to our rental date, Kevin was very responsive to my emails and texts and provide a complete and thorough guide on the checkin procedures, amenities, and check out procedures.

The first impression this cabin will make on you is the view. It's as good as any you'll find in Blue Ridge. This is a year round, long range view from all 3 levels.

The cabin was clean and very well decorated. The bedrooms, bathrooms, and closets were large and well appointed.

As far as entertainment, endless options. Hot tub, firepits/fireplaces, board games, pool table, satellite TV. Everything in the cabin worked, down to the last light bulb. Really, this is a place to have fun.

The location is about 25 minutes north of Blue Ridge. The roads, while at some places narrow and steep, were easily passable with a standard vehicle. The Waze app will navigate you to the cabin accurately until the very last turn.

We would return to this cabin without hesitation. Thank you Kevin for sharing this special place.
