'East Coast comes to the West Coast' is an accurate portrait of this active professional and artistic couple. Following several years in the Berkshires of Massachusetts, the couple was determined to recreate the restive beauty of New England while incorporating the best of mid-century furniture and California design.
Ted Weiant purchased this house in 1996
It was important for the couple to create a unique living sanctuary that represented their tastes, history and backgrounds. The result is an enclosed and safe compound that celebrates the worlds of Los Angeles and New England while creating an inviting and casual living experience that feeds the senses.
We greatly enjoyed our stay here - it felt like home from the moment we walked through the door. Ted was there to show us around and provided a very comprehensive welcome pack. This included a range of food, fruit, chocolates and drink - and plenty of chilled water in the fridge. The house was even better than we expected from the photos and had a recent, welcome addition of a hot tub in the garden which we enjoyed using. Ted was the perfect host - having shown us around the house he left us to enjoy it but we knew he was available if needed. The location was convenient for many of the main attractions and perfect for relaxing after a long day of sightseeing. As our holiday included a family 'get together' this really was the perfect place to relax and enjoy our time in Los Angeles. We would highly recommend this house to anyone staying in West Hollywood.
From the moment you step into the incredibly private and peaceful yard of this lovely Hollywood bungalow, you feel you're on vacation. Every amenity, every little thing you might want or need, it's all been provided by the delightful owner. Everything is first class. We didn't want to leave, and are already planning a return visit.
Ted, will keep it short.....awesome, awesome and really awesome! Thank you, thank you and thank you! From all of us, Phil, Kay, Taylor, Memee , Paige and Samer....with our warmest regards, see you very soon'
Great communication with property owner Ted Weiant during and after the booking process. Upon arrival of the property we were greeted with a fruit and snack basket which helped set the tone for our 4-night stay. Ted gave us a tour of the property which included a hot tub, steam shower, BBQ, outdoor eating area and all the utensils you could think of in the kitchen. Several restaurants were within walking distance on Sunset Blvd and many more just a short drive away in the Hollywood area. The landscaping around the property was phenomenal, well maintained and added complete privacy to the neighboring houses. Universal Studios was only about 20-minute drive which originally sold us on looking into this property. This place would be perfect for a couples get away or in our case, 4 family members. Our daughter says she will never forget our stay and we all agree that when we visit the L.A. area again, this will be the place to stay.
We thank you again for your hospitality Ted!
This is a lovely, well-appointed cottage in the misdst of a beautiful, old, Hollywood neighborhood. The owner is friendly and thoguht of literlally everything that could make our stay more comfortable. We so enjoyed the hot tub and magically landacaped backyard, plus all the restaurants and walking around in Hollywood. The linens are top-notch, there was a large basket of healthy and delicious snacks (including fresh fruit!) waiting for us upour arrival (with three teenagers, that lasted about 10 minutes), plenty of bathroom and private space, and lots of interesting books about old Hollywood and art etc to browse. And maybe the best thing was that the house is a few blocks from the entrance to Runyon Canyon, a marvelous naturaly hiking area through a steep canyon. Each morning we started our day by walking to the Canyon and enjoying a surprisingly strenuous and breathakingly beautiful hike (I'm a marathon runner, just to give you a feel for the level of hiking). What a great start to the day!!
Our only complaint was that the days were just not long enough to do all the things we wanted to do AND to enjoy the amenities of the rental as fully as we wanted to!
We had a great time while staying in this home and the owner could not have been more accommodating. He even met us at the door at three in the morning when we arrived! He included lots of extras for us including roses, fruit and snacks, and even had our beverages of choice in the fridge waiting for us. The house is very warm and inviting and doesn't feel like a generic "house for rent" like many VRBOs do. Everything was clean and as promised. I can't recommend this place enough. It was close to a lot of restaurants and activities and was easy to jump on the freeway to get pretty much anywhere in LA, including the Rose Bowl and LAX. Also important: I had a lot of trouble with other owners when trying to book other rentals, but when I contacted Ted he got back to me right away, was very responsive, and could not have made things easier. I really appreciated that after all of the hassle I encountered prior to that. Thanks for making our stay enjoyable!
This is such a beautiful home. Ted has really created something pretty magic with this house. Everything is just perfect. It is so well kitted out. Ted provides everything you could possibly need plus more. He put bunches of flowers all over the house and made us a delicious welcome basket. There are two fireplaces and a spa. And his garden is so well kept. The location is perfect for L.A tourists. Close to major Hollywood attractions.
Ted is such a lovely host. He was so accommodating and generous. He even offered to drive us to get groceries as we didn't have a car. If you do have a car, he provides visitor car parking passes for you.
I don't think I've enjoyed accommodation more anywhere in the world.
