This charming waterfront cottage fronts the Gulf of Mexico where you can indulge in the calming call of sea birds and drink-in unsurpassed open Gulf vistas. Imagine watching dolphin and manatee swim by the yard as you enjoy breakfast, or catch a couple of redfish for dinner, right off the private dock in your back yard.
This quaint 1032 square feet cottage has a split plan, with 2 bedrooms, and 2 en-suite baths, all on one level. The home is well maintained for your comfort, and has been newly painted and furnished throughout.
The living room features plenty of seating room on new comfy couches, around a cozy fireplace, with a crisp view of the flat panel television with DVD player.
The home is conveniently located just minutes from Fred Howard Beach (by car, bike, or kayak), the famous Tarpon Springs Sponge Docks (authentic Greek restaurants and shopping), and is still less than an hour from Busch Gardens in Tampa, and less than two hours from all the Disney and Universal theme park attractions in Orlando.
The home comes with two kayaks and two bikes for your full enjoyment.
Come and relax, and have some fun!
Our family lives in Odessa, FL, about 30 minutes from Tarpon Springs. We love the Florida lifestyle - beach, boat, sun and fun!
Nicola Calistri purchased this cottage in 2013
We bought this house because we loved the location and view. One day when our children are off to college we hope to move to the house permanently.
We stayed at this lovely little cottage in June. The location is perfect for enjoying the quaint sponge docks and all the Greek restaurants available. Mr. Slouvaki's became our favorite dinner spot and we ate there 3 times during our stay. We spent countless hours on the dock watching for the fish to swim by. We saw manatees, dolphin, stingrays, blue-fin tuna, and countless other fish. We used the kayaks to enjoy the water as well. Tampa and St. Pete were very close and we did venture in that direction once during our stay. We also visited Honeymoon Beach and enjoyed a sunset sitting in the beach swings. The house was perfect for our stay. The views were spectacular from the living and bedroom. The kitchen was well stocked and easy to use. We used the grill once for lunch during our stay. We also enjoyed the back patio with table and chairs. It was so nice for morning coffee. This was the perfect vacation spot for us.
We stayed during March, and had a great time. The place is close to everything, except traffic. The food in the area restaurants was great, no lines. If you go, be sure to try Jimmy's Restaurant. Fresh sea-food daily, closed Mondays. The house was very clean and well equipped for comfortable stay. We enjoyed watching the birds, dolphins, fish, and even an occasional shark. Bring your bird book, and binoculars. We used the two provided kayaks and bicycles quite often. The kitchen was well equipped for dining in. Fresh shrimp on the grill was a treat. Grocery shopping was close by, and the Sponge Docks were a great tourist stop. Downtown Tarpon offers a lot of Antique Shops and little Tavern/Grills. We hope to be invited back someday.
We thought we would like staying in this house but we didn't....we loved it! This little house is clean, well taken care of and in the perfect location. Every day nature surprised us with something in the water or the sky or the yard. We loved watching the fishing boats, the dolphins, the great blue herons and the sunset from the dock. We could easily get to Clearwater, Dunedin and Caladesi Island. It was nice to be close but not too close to be in the traffic. The owners thought of everything we would need or need to know to make our stay great and we look forward to coming back!
Close drive to town. The town is authentic Greek. Great local seafood(try grouper cheeks). the cottage has everything for long stays. Great views especially from the pier. Great kayaking. Local fresh and saltwater guides are available. In spite on small size living area is more than adequate.
Highly recommended. This is a well-maintained cottage, tastefully furnished and decorated. Equipped for recreation and relaxation. Unbeatable bird watching!!!! Located on a quiet street in a very scenic neighborhood, yet within a short drive of shopping and commercial destinations. The owners are very gracious, and were responsive and attentive to our requests. We enjoyed the area so much that we purchased a nearby property the day before departing!
Tarpon Springs, Florida is the home of the historic Sponge Docks. The Sponge Industry helped build a Greek Community that is now famous not only for the worlds finest sponges, but for some of the finest Greek Restaurants, Markets, and Bakeries in the Country.
