Spectacular setting and artfully appointed
We spent a wonderful Christmas week 2016 here with another family. The house is immaculate and appointed with interesting art reflecting the travels of its owner. The ambience is comfortable and contemporary with Asian architectural accents. The kitchen was well stocked with as beautiful a view of the ocean as the main living areas. The beach is just outside the back gate. The house is spacious with plenty of room for everyone to have their own space as well as come together. Beds were good quality and with the guest house, if you rent it also, it is like a private compound. The visiting herons were an unexpected point of natural interest. And our younger family members enjoyed the outdoor jacuzzi. The house is inspiring and the construction was not a problem for us. Edward and the staff who maintain the house do a wonderful job of making sure guests have what they need. We will be back!
Thank you for your thoughtful review. You caught the feeling for the house. Even the herons trying to eat the koi!
One of a kind
It's hard to post a review that adds something to the previous reviews of this property--all are five star reviews and all are spot on. The combination of spectacular ocean views, nearly perfect weather, upscale local amenities, and the unique and calming Japanese influenced architecture make it a terrific overall experience. (Throw in a few barking seals for ambience.) Well managed and well maintained, it's perfect for three to four couples and is highly accessible to some of the greatest golf courses anywhere, plus terrific dining options a short drive away. As good as it gets.
We rented this home for a month and did not want to leave. After years of visiting Carmel/Pebble Beach, this is the first year we decided to rent a home for a longer time, and it could not have been more perfect. The home itself is beyond wonderful, from the views of Seal Rock to the koi pond, and every detail in between. Our daughter had so much fun exploring the beach across 17 mile drive, using binoculars to look at the seals from pretty much every room in the house, and giving names to the beautiful Koi fish. Truly doesn't get any better. We plan to make it an annual family trip.
My wife and I rented many homes in the USA and Europe; this property ranks at the very top of all previous rentals. The views are breathtaking and the home is very complete; we love to cook and for the first time we did not need the knives that we always bring with us........they were good ones and sharp at the house!
Regardless of where you want to relax, you either have a wonderful view of the waves in the Pacific or you can enjoy the koy pond and lovely landscaping. Inside the home you have first class decor and accommodations. For us, there is no doubt that when we visit Pebble Beach in the future, this will be the place to rent. An A++ rental!
Serenity par excellence
Very beautifully designed and managed Japanese style home on one level that has an unsurpassed view. Setting is peaceful and idyllic. Koi pond and guest house - added pluses.
Best location for a golf trip
This was our 4th year going down to Pebble and staying at this home. The house is amazing and the views can't be beaten. . Less than a mile from Spyglass. I would recommend this home to anyone looking to stay on 17 mile drive. It's by far the best golf trip year after year.
House is situated on the famed 17 Mile Drive with unobstructed views of the Pacific Ocean. House has private gated access. Located near The Lodge at Pebble Beach and The Inn at Spanish Bay. 30 day minimum stay required per county policy
