You turn off at Ojochal to a paved access from Calle Peresoza ensuring easy all weather access to Ojochals great restaurants with Mama and Papas Italian restaurant being only a 200 meter walk and Exotica,Citrus, Ylang Ylang ,Azul, Verde, El Fuego and Villas Gaia all within 1200 meters.But don’t forget the multitude of great value Tico restaurants along the highway for main meals or breakfasts that will fuel you for a full day of activity at the nearby beaches of Tortuga,Pinuela,Ventanas and Ballena or go kayaking through mangroves, ziplines,hiking,white water rafting,whale and dolphin watching or visiting some of Costa Rica's unique national parks to observe wildlife and rainforest communities in a natural state.
This special very ,private location has its own gated entry and leads to the completely renovated three bedroom home, all with king size beds two of which converts to two singles and all with their own luxurious ensuites.
It has a large open plan living, dining area with a new kitchen including granite tops overlooking the large pool which is surrounded by a non slip coral tiling, complemented by an outdoor BBQ and eating area. While the bedrooms are air conditioned it is generally not needed as there are fans in all areas including the spacious verandah overlooking the pool with outside toilet shower and ocean view.There is a small river at the bottom of the property and you will rise each morning to the sounds of many birds and each night brings a new sunset experience. The owners live adjacent but well out of site and can complement the property manager with any queries during your stay.
The pool is serviced at least twice per week and the linen is changed weekly and the house cleaned. More frequent service including meals can be arranged.
Owners are retired Australians and live on an adjacent but separate private property. And therefore available to attend any needs of the renters. And ensure an enjoyable experience.

Proximity to the best restaurants in Ojochal. Photographers and birdwatchers Paradise. A different sunset every night. Close to 6 of Costa Rica's most beautiful beaches. Easy access to tourist operators and all that the South Pacific coast has to offer.
This is a fabulous property in a stunning location - the gardens and views are amazing with a property with all you could need. The pool is perfect and we spent a lot of time relaxing in it and enjoying the view. The gardens are a bird lovers paradise! So much to do in this area - the mangrove kayaking with Pinapple tours was our favourite. Thanks to Bob and Colleen for being there if we needed you. We hope to return.

We spent 3 weeks in April and May of 2015 in this fabulous house. First of all, the location is just perfect. Very short access from the highway. On arriving you find yourself on top of a ridge and the view of the ocean and surrounding hills hits you.... It's a feast for the eyes!
The house is beautifully furnished with a big TV, Wi-Fi connection that works very well outside on the patio and all the stuff you need to feel at home. For us the best part was a beautiful and well equipped kitchen, perfect for home grown chef warriors. It was a great place to cook fancy dinners and mix tasty cocktails. And that we did, my friends! Sure there are great restaurants, but if you like cooking, this is the place. Robert and Kathy, the property manager, were always extremely helpful and accommodating with any concerns and questions we had.
Other huge assets of this house are security and privacy. It has an alarm system that you can set with a remote control every time you leave. Very convenient. The whole property is fenced with a gate at the bottom of the driveway and it’s surrounded by vegetation on all sides except the ridge facing south-east, where you get spectacular view of the Ocean. You will definitely spend lots of time sitting in the pool, sipping your tropical cocktail and watching dazzling sunset over the ocean.
Now, what else to do besides enjoying yourself in these luxury surroundings? Here are my suggestions. Visit all the beaches nearby, Playa Tortuga (free access, park under the trees), Playa Ventanas, a must see place with a guarded parking lot (costs 1 or 2 bucks) and many others. The best times to visit are weekday mornings, the beaches are totally deserted and you will feel like Robinson Crusoe. Buy the freshest seafood, that was still swimming in the Ocean that morning, from a local fisherman right at the entrance to Playa Tortuga. Spend few hours in the Restaurante Tilapias el Pavon, about 3 km south of Ojochal (turn left onto a dirt road), eat best Tilapia in the world and swim in nearby waterfall. Definitely visit native village of Boruca and buy the famous mask there, not in a tourist gift shop. The drive up the mountain will stop your heart, it is totally exhilarating. Visit Palmar Sur, Sierpe, Puerto Jimenez, Corcovado Park, Golfito. And every day, tired and happy, come back to your luxurious house, eat fresh food, drink plenty of beer and drinks, relax in the pool, look at the sunset and plan the next day adventure. We shall be back!
Our group of three couples (no kids) thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the well-maintained "Casa Tusca del Mar". There are certainly higher-end and lower-end properties in the area, but the amenities provided for the price were outstanding, and the property fit our needs perfectly. The pool, the view, and the amount of land/open-space were the features we most enjoyed. One of the non-negotiable requirements for the house we planned to rent was that each bedroom have it own full "en suite" bathroom. This property satisfied it perfectly ... plus it has two other half baths (only one of which actually got used). The well-equipped kitchen was great (even though we broke the provided corkscrew --- due to over use I would have to candidly admit.) Any issues we had were small, and Bob handled them promptly and graciously. No question but that we would return to the property when we return to the Ojochal area.
Location, pool, privacy --everything was great. Two excellent restaurants, Citrus and Exotica, right down the road; beautiful beaches minutes away; although our best moments were spent just sitting by the pool reading, enjoying the breeze and ocean views. I would suggest avoiding the back yard in the morning and evening hours, as mosquitoes are lying in wait. But only rarely bitten in the front yard, where we spent the bulk of our time.
The place exceeded our expectations. Absolutely loved it.
We stayed several days in November 2014 in this wonderful home and it is everything that the photos would suggest and more. The kitchen is fully equipped for most anything you'd want to do. The house is very open and inviting, the pool is great, and the view is unbeatable. We felt extremely comfortable, at home, and relaxed during our stay. We did have a few minor issues with the wi-fi and TV but Robert was very prompt in helping us work it out. A better place to stay while visiting this part of the Costa Rica would be hard to find.
We hated to leave and will definitely hope to return again.

The above rates are quoted on a two person occupancy and requires $25 for each additional person per night.
The owners have installed meters to monitor electricity usage. Any usage above $10 USD per day will be charged to the renter. Electricity is expensive in Costa Rica and we like to encourage conservation.
Minimum $150 deposit by Paypal or direct bank transfer to reserve with balance due in cash on check in.
