Stunning views and exceptional old world villa! Attention to detail in every room and garden. We had a family reunion with ages 8 to 80 and it was perfect for everyone. Alessandro and his family offered us warm hospitality and plenty of privacy. It exceeded all our expectations! Alessandro and his family are the perfect hosts with warm hospitality that never intruded on our sense of space or privacy. Highly recommend.
We are so glad we discovered Lazzarona. The house is spacious and comfortable and the gardens and pool area are beautiful. Our stay was a family reunion and everyone (from 8 - 80 years old) was happy with Lazzarona. The location can't be beat: in the countryside but close to lovely San Gimignano (and a handy supermarket). Our host, Alessandro, was really helpful with local knowledge. He arranged a catered meal - a delicious Tuscan feast. One could find fancier and more expensive places but this suited our family perfectly.
If we could keep this to ourselves ...we would!
Podere Lazzarona will give you everything you could wish for, spacious, well equipped, clean, with views to die for. From the moment you arrive, Alessandro provides you with all the information you need during a fast, friendly and informative "check in".
The well equipped kitchen and utility room is at the hub of the house and enables you to have mealtimes without a logistics fuss either in the triple aspect dining room or on the covered terrace where the barbeque awaits the man of the house to perform his magic for alfresco dining!
All bedrooms are en-suite, very comfortable, tastefully finished in true Tuscan style with great views from all (fixed window nets allow airy insect free warm nights). Terraces to front and rear allow you sun or shade when you like, then the few steps down to the pool area provide easy access to another covered dining area, table, loungers and seating around a fantastic infinity pool with truly spectacular panoramic views.
The short journey into San Gimignano gives you all the amenities you need and great shopping in the bustling centre. Restaurants are plentiful and some of the best Gelato in Italy is served in the main square.
Podere Lazzarona comes highly recommended and the Martini family will ensure your stay is something you'll always remember.
Lazzarona was perfect! The house and surroundings were amazing. We were two related families with children and friends, but there was something for everyone. The pool was a major plus. And everything was even better than advertised while the owners were incredibly helpful and kind. The authentic Tuscan meal that was organized by the owner was amazing and one we are still talking about. This villa was the ideal setting for the trip of a lifetime.
During my initial search I looked for a villa that could fit a large group of people, each bedroom with an ensuite, a workable kitchen, pool and walking distance to a village or town.
Lazzarona was perfect. It was a good walk to the medieval town of San Gimignano (4km up and down hills) and what a delightful town!
Staying at Lazzarona was very convenient for us to spend one day close by and the next day exploring Tuscany.
Over a period of 4 weeks, 12 friends came to stay at the Villa Lazzarona. We were treated with 2 crostata baked by Chiara and a fabulous 5 course meal made by Alessandro's Aunty. The Villa had plenty of room for all people to feel comfortable whilst maintaining privacy.
My only suggestion for improvement would be to replace the mattress in the large blue bedroom. It wasn't as comfortable as I am used to, but none of the other guests made the same comment.
All in all a trip to remember made extraordinary due to the rustic 100 year old villa and the wonderful hospitality of Alessandro and his family.
Seven of us had the most wonderful week staying at your villa. It was exactly as promised in the listing. . . spotlessly clean and the property was beautifully maintained with gorgeous gardens and swimming pool. Having a bathroom in each bedroom was a luxury indeed. The setting was spectacularly beautiful with San Gimignano greeting us every morning as we looked out from the terrace. The owners, Alessandro and his wife, Chiara, are wonderful people, providing us with maps and any information we required. They greeted us on our return one evening with a just-out-of-the-oven plum torte . . . wonderful! On our last full day at the villa, we were given the privilege of helping to harvest their grapes. What a thrill that was! Definitely a bucket-list moment!
I would highly recommend Podere Lazzarona to anyone who wishes to have a memorable stay, with great value for your money, in beautiful Tuscany.
