We live in Collierville, TN. I work at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and my wife works at Baptist Memorial Hospital. I'm originally from the north but like southern living much better as does my wife, Kelly, who grew up in this area. We recently became empty nesters but loving the new lifestyle change.
Randy Wellman purchased this house in 2011
Waterloo is a place that grows on you. We have been going there for over 20 years yet continue to discover more reasons to return. That's why we finally decided to build a vacation house there a few years ago. Not only is it a beautiful area of the country and a fun place for family vacations, but it is a wonderful community where people are friendly, considerate, and helpful. Likewise, it is a place where you can enjoy your privacy in a very tranquil setting, let your hair down, and truly relax. And, of course, if you like the water, then Waterloo is the place to be. In just a few minutes, you can be playing, fishing, or just cruising down the river for miles, with no hassles whatsoever.
Exceptional sightseeing both on and off the lake. Bring your own boat or rent one from local marina.
My husband and I along with 3 other couples stayed for a long weekend in March. IT WAS AMAZING! The back porch has breath taking views and I can only imagine how beautiful it is when the leaves are turning! The fire pit is great! The house is equipped with everything you'll need. However, make sure you bring all our food with you. There's one little store in town. Randy was more than helpful with every question we had! We hope to make this a yearly trip and plan to stay here again!!!
This is a great home and location for anyone looking for a lake getaway. Randy and Kelly are the most attentive owners we've rented from and were extremely helpful anytime we had a question.
The property is beautiful and perched on a hillside that goes down to the lake just a couple hundred feet away. The house itself is very nicely appointed with all the comforts of home. We were delighted to find all sorts of books and board games for the kids. We really enjoyed the fire pit and taking the kayaks out onto the lake. Florence isn't too far away (~30 min) and has great restaurants and grocery stores.
We really enjoyed our stay and hope to come back again.
We had a great stay on the Pickwick Lake. Most of our activities were indoors (playing board games, devotionals, relaxing, etc.) during our November stay. The owner was outstanding! He offered additional activities that made for a great weekend! There's a play set on the grounds for kiddos, which we discovered on our second day. Be sure to bring all of your food items as the nearest grocery store is quite a distance. Overall, a great experience. We did a lot of research finding this location for our families, and it paid off! Thanks!!!
The property is fantastic and the house everything the owners and other reviewers describe. We stayed here for a week of gaming and hanging out with friends, six adults, and having enough space for everyone to spread out was perfect. While the town is very small and you need to bring food, laundry detergent, etc, the house is furnished and stocked with a lot of extras. The wide variety of dish and cookware was especially nice, given that rental homes are often only contain the most basic cooking implements. Great trip and a great place.
We couldn't have asked for a better experience at Pickwick. The owners were so very helpful opening the slide for us and shuttling some to the marina to rent a boat. The house was beautiful and had everything we needed to cook and enjoy ourselves. We would definitely rent again in this house!
The Home was very clean and comfortable. It is a beautiful property and the owners are very happy to take care of all we ask them to do. This is out 3rd year to visit this home and we are very pleased. Thank you again Randy and Kelly
