About Jean Bekkedal
Gary's Norwegian roots come from this beautiful area of Wisconsin where he was born. We have been on our farm 43 years. Gary was a retired teacher from Viroqua Atea Schools, while stayed home taking care of our 3 girls when young, along with the farm. Our 3 daughters & their live close, within 12 miles.
Jean Bekkedal purchased this Cabin in 2001
Why Jean Bekkedal chose Viroqua
Gary & I love this beautiful area of Wisconsin with it's many trout streams, high bluffs and deep valleys. We loved this farm because of it has wooded areas as well as crop land. The sound of birds singing wakes us in the morning, the big, beautiful sky full of nighttime stars.
What makes this Cabin unique
The Farmer's Inn was fashioned after the mountain cabins of Norway. Gary designed it & local carpenters built it. Sit on the front porch & enjoy the view. All-wood, the cabin is cozy & comfortable. Newly finished downstairs floors are beautiful.

Perfect Cabin Getaway!
You can't go wrong with this place! Very quiet, just outside of town. The owners, Jean and Gary were extremely kind and helpful offering many suggestions regarding things to do in the area. The cabin itself was spotless and all amenities including WIFI worked great. You will be amazed at the all pine wood interior and all wood floors (with a special history...ask Gary). The tour of the animals in the nearby barn was also a special treat. As it rained, we enjoyed the sights and sounds of the rolling countryside from the chairs on the covered porch. We enjoyed grilling and eating a few meals on the porch as well. We can't say enough great things about this place and we will be back! Thanks again! Tim & Becky
Tim & Becky were wonderful guests. We had a nice time visiting with them & taking them on a tour of our barn with it’s mix of animals. Tim & Becky left the cabin clean and tidy. We would love to have them visit with us again!

Great Retreat from it All
We had a lovely stay at the cabin. Gary and Jean were great hosts and gave us some directions and mentioned some things for us to do during our stay. The area is lovely and we will be back to explore more.
Cozy Little Cabin
Great spot! The cabin is cozy and clean with a nice kitchen. It's got a nice porch and bonfire pit to enjoy outside, and it's less than 10 minute's drive into Viroqua. Would love to go back some time!
Cute and cozy
Our short get away was a delightful surprise! Jean and Gary’s hospitality was amazing and their cabin so adorable and comfy. We loved the beauty of the Viroqua area! Rob and Pat W
Get away from it all
Coulee Country is truly a hiddin gem that gives you a small piece of America. The Farmers Inn does not disappoint you and our hosts Gary and Jean compliment the setting with helping you with whatever you are searching for.Slow down and enjoy life. Sincerely Brian and Katie
Brian & Katie,
It was a pleasure meeting both of you & are happy you enjoyed your stay.
Beautiful spot and cozy accomodations
Loved everything about our stay but the fishing recommendations put it over the top for our son and his friend who joined us from UW Madison. Wish we could have stayed longer and made use of the kitchen although the Driftless Cafe in Viroqua (9 min away) was an excellent consolation prize!
Our guests were friendly & left the cabin neat & tidy. We would recommend them as guests without question & would love to have them stay with us again!
