My family (incl 3 kids ages 19-23) arrived at the condo on 12/26 for a short stay. She was very helpful with directions and we found the condo in the dark with no issues. The unit is nicely decorated and very spacious. We especially enjoyed eating on the deck and the proximity to beautiful Buye beach. It is a unique beach landscape, narrow but enough space for all, with mangroves on the beach (never seen that before!) that provide shade for those who need it. The water is warm and calm. Fantastic sunsets every night! A small frappe/snack shack and bar were a short walk up the beach which we took advantage of too! It is not a private beach but there was enough room for all while we were there despite the holidays. The pool in the complex was next to the beach and my kids enjoyed the convenience. Our unit had a nice view of the complex, though the decks are very close to each other and, with open windows, there were plenty of sounds that carried during the morning and afternoon! Nights were quiet. The unit has nice space for showers, living room to hang out, eating area and kitchen. We could not get our satellite TV to work in the master bedroom but it wasn't really missed! Not sure if it was us or the unit! The TV in the living room had no issue. Cell phone service was unavailable in parts of the unit but was available on the deck or elsewhere in the complex so it must have been because of the angle of the buildings. Showers and water pressure were fine too. Kitchen was nicely filled with necessary appliances and utensils. There was an issue in the kitchen and by one of the bedroom AC's with the very small ants that seem to be all over but it is not a mass infestation! Some spray or ant traps are helpful. The 3rd bedroom is a bunk with the washer/dryer stack and is probably better for smaller kids if you stay for a longer period of time. For our 4 night stay it was fine with a few adjustments and a lot of negotiating! Belkis and her husband were very helpful and pleasant to talk with and answered each of our calls immediately. Overall we would definitely stay again. The beach is just gorgeous, we even left Playa Sucia early to return one day. Restaurants are spread out more so than San Juan area but the locations on the water are real nice. Shops are available if needed. Definitely a quieter area than San Juan but we had perfect weather and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. We would love to return someday!
The owner was friendly and very easy to work with before and after we arrived. She communicates well and in a timely manner! On arrival to the area we called and she was instantly helpful. This is an "off-the-beaten-path location, we arrived in the rain and dark, but she guided us over the phone. The apartment was clean, felt safe, and was comfortable. By morning, we knew we chose a great spot for relaxing, reading, walking, watching sunsets, enjoying beverages on the balcony, swimming in warm clean waters, sunning by the pool, and preparing delicious meals in the well equipped kitchen. We explored the area, ate at a few restaurants (one of our favorite was "Buena Vibra", not to be missed), went fishing on a charter (set up by the owner, many thanks), visited with great neighbors, played cards, and got the much needed relaxation we desired. We hung out and spent a fantastic week on "Caribbean" time!!
I made all the arrangements with the owner, who was very easy to work with and who helped out with all our needs even before we made it there. Once we arrived at the location, we could not have been happier. There is a lot of space in the living room, a great dining area, an outside table in the patio, and easy access to the pool and beach.
But, in the end, it is the owner who matters the most. She was the most helpful and gracious host and made us feel fully at home. I would recommend this location to anyone with kids and/or who want to be off the beaten path. You will have a wonderful time combing the beach, swimming in the warm, clear water, lazing around on a hammock, etc.
Came to visit with my wife and two grown children and never wanted to leave. Plenty of space in the fully equipped and very clean unit for all of us to be together but also to have some personal space. Loved eating breakfast on the large balcony before walking a few steps to the perfect beach. Great sunsets every night with the sun disappearing into the water. The pool was well maintained and right near beach so it was easy to go back and forth. We did some exploring in Baja Rojo and you definitely need a car to get around. I would come back for sure.
We love it, fantastic place to stay. Wonderful beach!! Great places close by for breakfast, etc...Beautiful Island.
