Diamond Head/Ocean/Mountain View, 2 Bed/2 Bath Waikiki Penthouse, Free WI-FI

You'll be sitting on top of the world at this spacious 2 bedroom, 2 bath Penthouse with open living room and fully equipped kitchen. The jaw-dropping 270-degree view includes Diamond Head, sweeping ocean view, Ala Wai Canal, Ala Wai golf course, Ft DeRussy park, the beautiful Koolau Mountain Range and both sunrises and sunsets!

The bedrooms, living/dining room and kitchen all have spectacular views. Every Friday night you will have views of the fireworks launched from the Hilton Hawaiian Village lagoon.

Our penthouse is privately owned, managed and maintained. The Hawaiian Monarch is a mixture of hotel-owned and privately-owned units. Our penthouse is not part of the Hawaiian Monarch hotel pool.

Onsite is a convenience store, Choco House Japanese restaurant and sushi bar, the Cream Pot breakfast and lunch restaurant (very popular with Japanese), The King's Pub sports bar with nightly live music and Aloha Sushi which is basically Japanese fast food plus hamburgers. Also on site are motor scooter and car rentals.

The huge recreation deck features a large swimming pool, Jacuzzi, lounge chairs and barbecue grills.

The building has 24-hour security and uses a secure Key Card Access Elevator System; our guests are provided with security key cards to operate the elevators to the penthouse and access the recreation deck.

The Penthouse is conveniently located close to many restaurants: Tony Roma's, Cheeseburger Waikiki, Vietnamese, Chinese, Indian, Japanese, Hard Rock Cafe, Italian, Korean and much more.

In town for a convention? The penthouse is within easy walking distance to both the Hawaii Convention Center and the Hilton Hawaiian Village resort.

Is shopping your thing? The penthouse is within walking distance of Luxury Row, Waikiki Beach Walk, Ala Moana Shopping Center and hundreds of boutique shops.

And don't forget it is about a 10 minute walk to the most famous beach in the world!

About Steve Marcotte

We have been in the Hawaii Vacation Rental business since 1993. (click see All My Rental Listings below to view our other properties and read reviews).

Steve is a real estate broker and has been licensed in Hawaii since 1999. Iku is a licensed real estate agent and a native Japanese speaker. We have traveled extensively and this gives us an understanding of what our guests need to make their stay enjoyable and safe. And being owners of rentals gives us the experience to help others buy and sell rentals and second homes.

We founded a vacation rental company named A Piece of Paradise on Hawaii Island (aka The Big Island) in 1996 and managed wonderful vacation homes in a special area named Kapoho. In 2011 we sold A Piece of Paradise and began relocating to Honolulu. A multi-year search for properties followed, and our hard work paid off!

In addition to managing our own properties we also love to help others buy their own piece of paradise in Hawaii. Even if you cannot live in Hawaii full time, It is a wonderful feeling to know that you have property is here and you can come whenever you want. And when you are not staying at your property the rent can help pay the bills.

Thanks for the hospitality

Myself and 3 others travelled from Australia and this penthouse is a must stay at when visiting Hawaii.

It's central location to everything is a perfect option which allows you to walk to landmarks and central meeting points, whether it's for the beach, shopping, drinking, eating, fireworks... what ever you are looking for.

The amenities was everything I expected.

Being able to fall asleep and wake up to the views of Waikiki Beach and the Ocean was breathtaking, especially the view of Diamond Head whilst enjoying Mai Tai's made my first trip to Hawaii that even more mesmerizing and special.

Steve was also a pleasure to deal with and everything from the booking to accessing the penthouse was smooth and easy.

I highly recommend staying at this place and more than likely whenever I visit Hawaii I will definitely stay here again.

Delightful private rental experience!

Myself and 2 girlfriends travelled from Australia to stay at this property from 1 March to 8 March 2016. We had booked the property in around October 2015 following an enormous amount of research into hotel rooms, private residences and recommendations from friends and family who had travelled to Oahu in the past.

We were sceptical at first, the reviews for the Hawaiian Monarch hotel were not overly positive however, the private residence reviews were great. We were not disappointed.

Steve Marcote as the rental agent was fantastic to deal with. He provided fast turnaround on any queries we had, he was able to provide a very comprehensive instruction list on how to get our security keys on arrival, the do's and don't of the apartment and very clear direction on who to see regarding issues with the access or any building concerns.

We had arranged a secret marriage proposal event to take place on our trip there and Steve was more than happy to oblige by purchasing in advance some drinks and hiding them in one of the rooms on arrival to make sure that proposal event went according to plan.

The views were spectacular! We could see excellent views of beachside, views of diamond head crater and excellent views of the mountains on the opposite of the surf. Waikiki beach itself was a blocked by the other apartment buildings, but it took us less than a 20 minute stroll to actually walk there and were not disappointed at all.

The apartment was very clean and tidy, had all the things we could have thought to use - iron, ironing boards, hair dryers (remember to take a universal power point if coming from another country if you have your own electric equipment though!). Everything was clean and thank god for the dryer and washing machine!

The comfort of the beds were average, but nothing will beat your own home's bed or pillows. It was spacious, clean and had the amenities that we could expect from a furnished apartment in a coastal town back home. Close to a lot of amenities (7/11 downstairs).

The hotel/apartment rating system in Australia is different to that of the US and we noticed that quickly. If this apartment was in Australia, we would rate it 4 out of 5 stars - 5 being the absolute best of the best. We met a lot of other Aussies during our travels in Hawaii and we would have to rate the apartment a 5/5 in comparison to the other places our new friends told us about. We were very lucky!

Highly recommended

We found everything about this place amazing! The views are worth every cent! I found collecting the access cards and registering with security easy enough (even though it was a Sunday) and getting to our condo was easy based on the information provided. The condo was clean and provided us with all the amenities we required. The mattresses we found a little hard but each to their own and our only complaint. It is close enough to everything you need and you can watch the Hilton Fireworks right from the comfort of the condo. The owner is friendly and easy to deal with and we found the location convenient and safe. We spoke with a number of other tourists who complained about their accommodation despite paying similar money to us. We spoke highly of our accommodation and would recommend to friends. Thanks again :)

Great property!

Our family of five were very comfortable in this unit. The kitchen had all necessary pots, pans, utensils, etc. Beds were comfortable, and the view is to die for!

Very roomy condo and great WiFi

This condo was very roomy and had wonderful air conditioning and terrific wi-fi. It was close to the Ala Moana shopping centre. The only negative I would comment on is that we arrived late at night and after getting our key from the lockbox, could not figure out which bank of elevators to use. I had to register at the security office and that took 20 minutes. My husband took the wrong bank of elevators to our condo and by the time we finally got into our condo, we were exhausted and sweaty. The only comment I would make is that it would be much better to register with security the next morning. Other than that; the condo was clear, lots of space and a very safe location. The only reason I wouldn't stay at that location again was to be closer to the centre of Waikiki - near the Moana hotel. Otherwise, the condo was terrific!!

The world famous Waikiki Beach is only a 10 minute walk. Many restaurants (Thai, Japanese, Hard Rock Cafe, Irish, Wolfgang's Steak House, Italian and MANY MANY more) are within walking distance.

People attending conventions in Honolulu find the Penthouse a reasonably priced alternative to staying at a hotel. If family members are traveling too then it is even less expensive compared to a hotel.

It is within easy walking distance of popular convention facilities such as the Hawaii Convention Center, Hilton Hawaiian Village, Ala Moana Hotel and the Hawaii Prince Hotel.
