The bedrooms are quiet and overlook gardens. 2 double bedrooms, large living room with dining area, fully equipped kitchen, bathroom with double washbasin and comfortable shower enclosure, and a terrace with a view over the traditional roofs of the Medieval city. A third bedroom with private bathroom on the lower floor is available. The house is situated in the area built by Nicolò II, in the sixteenth century it was shown on the map which reproduced the layout of the city’s buildings as the “House of the Knight Taino degli Obizi.” A study of eighteenth-century documents in the Municipal Archives shows that a room of the house in question was used as an inn, called “Naso di legno” (Wooden Nose). Piazza Duomo and the Castello Estense are just a five-minute walk away.Guests can also visit the Palazzo Schifanoia and the Ludovico il Moro Archaeology Museum, or stroll through the streets of the Jewish Ghetto

Another wonderful stay at Naso di Legno
This was our second stay at Naso di Legno and we enjoyed it even more than the first time. My husband and I just love Ferrara and can't really imagine staying anywhere else, the apartment is beautiful and so well equipped, everything works well and the furniture and fixtures are of a very high standard, the photos are a true representation. The location of the apartment is spot on, even though it is literally steps from the action, it is in a quiet and peaceful street where you can't hear a thing. Much appreciated was the fabulous fruit bowl which kept us going for a few breakfasts and also the Prosecco which we had on our last evening, also the larder is stocked with some very nice food if you wanted to eat in.
Getting to the apartment is very easy, there is a direct bus from the airport which costs €15 and stops just near the castle, then the apartment is close by. Bruno and Paola really are the loveliest hosts and live in the same building so can help you with any queries. Bruno picked us up from the bus stop and took us to the apartment and then to the train station when we left as we were travelling elsewhere. They also gave us a lovely present when we left which made it home in one piece - thank you Bruno and Paola!!
We did various trips out of Ferrara, Padova was beautiful and highly recommended, we did a one night stay in Venice which is around an hour away and did the Ferrari museums in Modena and Marinello, such a great day and Bruno printed our tickets for us. The train station is a good 30-40 minute walk from/to the centre and we could never fathom the buses, so if we were tired we got a taxi. The great thing is Ferrara is very close to Bologna Centrale and from there you can go anywhere, having said that, Ferrara itself is a true gem, in the 10 days we were there we hardly heard a single English or American accent, a bit different to Venice!! You really do feel like you're in a true Italian working city, a stunning one at that, we can't wait to return.
I really can't heap enough praise on this fabulous apartment and amazing city, do yourself a favour and go and stay at Naso di Legno!
Uccelli e mosaici from Ferrara
We can endorse all the comments below that say this apartment is even nicer than the photos show. We were very comfortable with lots of light and space and the ability to adjust the temperature inside as we wanted. The rooftop terrace was lovely in the early evenings and allowed us to watch the swifts flying just above the red tiled roofs and even to watch kestrels nesting in a monastery tower nearby (binoculars were required). We can endorse too just how nice, helpful and generous Bruno and Paola are as hosts. Ferrara was stunning. We didn't use the restaurants in Ferrara but can recommend You and Tea if you don't drink coffee and enjoy fine teas in a cool and relaxing environment, and Farina di Riso which makes utterly delicious gluten free versions of the local delicacies. We enjoyed great visits to Ravenna, Chioggia and Comacchio while the bird life in the lagoons and on the lakes at Argenta was exceptional.
We are pleased to have been good hosts for you
thank you very much for the appreciation for the apartment and for the location of the house
It's always a pleasure to help our guests feel at home and enjoy their visit to our historic town.
It has been a pleasure to have you in our apartment.
Great place to rent
This is a great place, we by mistake pressed the wrong star. It should have been 5 *. Don't know how to correct it. Bruno was very helpful and informative. The mention about the lack of a microwave was a joke. We were fine without it.
Don't worry we have already done to solve the problem and in any case many thanks for what you have done about this thing.
We are very pleased to know that you were satisfied with our apartment and the most important thing that you were happy for the time spent in Ferrara
We are also sorry not to have said to you that a microwave was available (if it is not used to leaving more space in the kitchen we do not put it).
Thank you again for your present; nice flowers!
It 's been a pleasure to meet you
My husband and I stayed at Bruno's and Paola's rentals with my cousin and his wife as well as our son and daughter-in-law. We rented the upstairs apartment with two bedrooms and the downstairs bedroom and private bath. Both are well kept, well stocked, and very clean. Bruno and Paola were excellent hosts, explaining all the conveniences and provided a beautiful basket of fruit, juices, and coffee. They even allowed us to wash our clothes before our departure. If you need a place to park, Bruno can reserve a spot for you. The location is a very short distance to the square and castle. The only downside was the 2-bedroom apartment is up two flights of stairs and the additional bedroom and bath are on the ground floor completely separate from the apartment. We didn't have any issues, but keep that in mind if traveling with kids.
Thank you, Bruno and Paola for our pleasant stay!
Many thanks for the great review It was a pleasure for us to have you as our guest in our apartment; it 's been a pleasure to meet you and we hope to see you again
Terrific place--even better than the photos show.
We had a lovely week in Bruno and Paola's apartment in Ferrara. Every possible comfort was provided --a fruit and wine stocked fridge! Bicycles to borrow! Easy cheap parking with the monks nearby! An amazing apartment with its charming terrace, in the perfect central yet very quite location! And of course lovely hosts who made us feel very much at home. We hope to stay here again.
Thank you very much for appreciation.
We hope to see you again!

A true home away from home
This was our second visit to Ferrara and this amazing apartment. We arrived this visit via train from Venice with Bruno waiting..no taxi cab or rental car necessary. This space is ultra clean and spacious. The kitchen is stocked with more than the essentials. We visited Ravenna and Bologna on two separate days via train from Ferrara. This location is superb for day trips, and an easy walk back. Of course, Bruno chaperones us to the station with early morning departures. Evening strolls and gelato made this stay magical.
thank you for the excellent rating for your stay in our apartment and It is so nice to feel so appreciated.
We are glad that you enjoyed your holidays in Ferrara and your pleasure has made us happy
Bruno and Paola
Ferrara is in a strategic geographical position, near other cities of great historical and artistic interest: by train, Bologna is just twenty minutes away, Venice and Florence an hour, and Rome two hours and fifty minutes, while Mantua can be reached in an hour by car, and Ravenna in three quarters of an hour.
