This classic log cabin has two bedrooms, a loft, and one bathroom, and offers rustic charm and a great location! Situated in peaceful neighborhood on the western shore of Payette Lake, this cozy, wood-lined cabin can sleep up to six guests. Unplug from the real world and enjoy all the beauty that McCall has to offer at this home away from home!
The location is just two-and-a-half miles from downtown McCall, where you can enjoy fantastic restaurants and shopping. Skiing at Brundage Mountain is only 20 minutes away, and the lake is just footsteps from the cabin. The large deck offers a fantastic view of the lake while your soaking up that Idaho sun. This traditional log cabin features an interior that is wood-lined from floor to ceiling, a private boat slip, and a respite from fast-paced city life. You won't find cable TV or WiFi, but this allows you and your guests to spend quality time together and the chance to truly appreciate your surroundings.
Enjoy the large living area with plenty of space to relax in front of the river rock fireplace, or snuggle up on the sofa with a great book. The vintage but fully-equipped kitchen will allow you to prepare your favorite meals for your guests.
When it's time for bed, this home has two bedrooms and a loft. Both bedrooms have two twin-size beds and the loft has one queen bed, with a great view of the lake from the large window. Heat in this rustic cabin is sourced from space heaters, the fireplace does provide heat as well, but is not terribly efficient.
This log cabin home is perfect for a ski trip, a small family get together, or anyone wanting to enjoy a cabin retreat on the lake! McCall has great activities for the nature lover, but also offers fantastic shopping, restaurants and art galleries in downtown McCall. Take a break from the hustle and bustle and spend some time enjoying the view at the Rustic Red Cabin!
Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.
Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental managementthings like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.
Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!
Rustic is the key word that describes this cabin. There are few options for pet friendly rentals on the lake, which made this property attractive to us. The following is a fairly long review, but I believe it will prevent guests from being caught off guard when they arrive.
The best thing it has going for it is the location and access to the dock complete with adirondack chairs. Guests who loved the 1980’s-1990’s will appreciate the cabin décor. In contrast to other reviews, it was clean when we arrived.
As soon as we walked through the door the scent of mildew was apparent. Everything from the furniture to the bedding/towels, and a majority of the dishes are at least 25 years old. Fortunately, most items are in good physical condition, but age is apparent. Although the amenities include a television, there are no channels available on the dated TV. However, there is a VCR available…complete with a few VHS tapes for our viewing pleasure.
There is no cold running water in kitchen. We assume this is to prevent guests from using water for drinking or cooking as it comes directly from the lake. Bottled water is provided for those purposes. However, washing dishes in scalding hot water is definitely a challenge. The only shower has apparent mildew and is located in the bedroom downstairs. Apparently the plumbing is also dated, as water sputters frequently when the bathroom faucets are turned on. The beds and pillows are not the most comfortable; especially for an extended stay.
We enjoyed eating and playing games on the deck. Like a previous review stated, the deck is in need of repair. The rails are loose and several boards should be replaced.
Since temperatures dipped to the low 40’s, we used the portable heaters a couple of mornings to take away the chill. Although they appeared to be fairly new, I can’t imagine using them in the winter as the only source of heat. Evidently, this explains the abundance of extra blankets which are stored throughout the cabin.
We received some entertainment late one evening. From an upstairs window we had the perfect view of a huge bear knocking over the trashcans and emptying the contents on the ground. We were surprised that they were not bear proof like many in town.
Staying a couple of nights here would have been fine. Unfortunately, a week with no modern conveniences and a dark, dreary interior proved to be too long for us.
The dock is a dream; it's just perfect.
If you love the rustic lake cabin aesthetic this is the place for you! We had a wonderful, relaxing week enjoying the deck, dock, and water. The owners whose cabin is next door were friendly, helpful, and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed; they even brought us fresh huckleberries!! The cabin accommodations were comfortable and gave us what we wanted-a cabin on beautiful Payette Lake where we could bring our dog.
close trip to town, close to the river and North beach
You cannot beat the location of this cabin. Unfortunately the cabins view is partially blocked by the neighbors trees but it still had a partial view. The cabin is rustic but needs a few improvements such as a better cleaning crew, the queen bed moved off the loft area and into a bedroom instead of the twin beds in the bedrooms and cable or wifi would be nice. The kitchen is fully equipped which is nice. The neighbors were kind and welcoming.
Rundown, not well maintained, deck in dire need of repair, old mattresses/pillows upstairs, on and on.
Spent approximately 1.5 hours cleaning the deck of dirt, needles, dust and wiping down outdoor furniture which appeared it was the first time cleaned this season. Just what I wanted to do on my vacation right? and after traveling hours. A cleaning fee of $100, hah. The garbage can outside was full to the brim and smelled. The last time it was picked up?
Never felt comfortable indoors, especially upstairs with everything cheap.
The only good thing about this place was you could walk down to the water.
Huge disappointment upon arrival and seeing this place so run down. If you are going to show pictures of a place Vacasa, make sure they are RECENT.
