Good for big family
We enjoyed our stay and had plenty of room for 10 people. The house is needing a few repairs and updates but we had everything we needed and slept comfortably. Property manager was quick to respond to our questions.
Great and comfortable house, close to the mountain. Ready to go!
Great place to go, with all kitchen and bedroom supplies that we needed. Quiet place and great for kids (they loved to sleep all together).
Met most of our expectations
Overall good stay at a decent sized cabin. I would say it sleeps 8 comfortably. The internet did not work all weekend. Seems minor but most of us did not have cell service at the cabin.
This property was perfect for our two families.
This property was perfect for our two families. Property consisted of two floors with multiple bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, living room and fireplace on each floor which suited us perfectly. Hope to stay here again next year.
Small outdated cabin
The reason I gave this cabin two stare is because of the location to the beech mountain ski resort. All paved roads except for the last 2/10 of a mile. Really easy in and out .
This cabin, although it sleeps 12, really should not sleep more that 8. There was 11 of us and this cabin is just to small for that number of people
The cabin itself is old and outdated which I knew from the pics and previous reviews but there were several functional problems. I’ve never seen a heating system like this one. The vents in each of the bedrooms are not part of a main heating system buy operate individually. There is also a wall thermostat which operates baseboard heating in the living and dining room. There is no thermostat for the bedrooms and no way to adjust the heat. Our room and my sons room next door could not be turned off, so we had the heat running and the windows wide open. Never really got below freezing while we were there.
There are knobs on the vent that are suppose to turn the heat off but they never worked
We had a water leak under the sink and I called a repair man listed on the instructions sheet for the cabin. His name was Vernon but his wife answered the phone and told me Vernon had died 3 years ago. I was able to get another guy by the name of Bill who did come out and checked the leak, which wasn’t that bad but he couldn’t fix the problem , said he would return in a few days but never did while we were there.
Watch out for the fire place because it does allow an unusual amount of smoke to come into the cabin. I did ask Bill if he could check to make sure the fire place was open properly and he said that’s just the way it needs to be and also that he could tell that the chimney had been recently swept. We tried to us the fireplace that night and still had the same results.
Cell service at the cabin is almost non existent but the WiFi was not to bad.
I did speak to the owner Tom, who was very pleasant and tried to help with our concerns. Katie, the mgr. of the rental was pleasant to speak with but no help at all.
A few s days after we closed the cabin I was informed by Katie that we would not be getting our damage deposit back because there had been some burn marks on my daughters old dresser, some furniture had been moved and there was a bag of garbage left on stuff on the counter. My daughter told me the burn marks were there when we first went into the cabin.
Be careful with this one. I’ve never lost damage deposit on rentals
Enjoyed the location of the house. Walking distance to the West Bowl hiking trails and only a few miles to the Beech Mtn club. The kids had a great time playing in the creek right behind the house. We went hiking every day and took the kids to the sledding hill. The house had great amenities and really enjoyed waking up to see the spectacular view every day.
