INSIDE THE HOUSE
A spacious master bedroom has a queen-sized bed and vaulted ceilings. The 2nd bedroom has a full-sized bed, while the 3rd has a twin. Two queen-sized airbeds bring the total sleeping capacity to 8 – there’s room for the airbeds in the living area, and we provide the extra linens. Each of the bedrooms features unique music memorabilia.
Cook a full meal in the fully stocked kitchen with stainless appliances, then dig in at the adjacent dining table. Outside is equally impressive, with a front porch overlooking a lovely xeriscaped front yard. Have a BBQ in the backyard – seating areas and a gas grill are waiting! After dinner, an outdoor fire pit lets you enjoy a glowing evening under the stars.
Our home is only eight blocks from East Side King, a hip food truck and Austin landmark, and only a couple more to Takoba, one of the best modern Mexican restaurants in town. Other famous Austin spots are close by, too, like East Side Pies and Franklin BBQ.
It’s only a 5-minute drive to the convention center, Sixth Street and Rainey Street districts, and a few minutes from The University of Texas and the State Capitol. The perfect explorer’s home base!

We enjoyed staying here for a girls weekend in Austin! We were actually going to a concert at the Frank Erwin Center and the location was great! We didn't walk to 6th street since it was dark but you probabaly could, but it's a very short drive away! My only complaint is that there weren't any lightbulbs in one of the back bedrooms, I guess that had been taken out and not replaced. The house was very clean and no other issues. This was our first time in Austin and we loved it! We would stay there again!
Everything was excellent, the house was great. The locations was perfect.
Everything in there was pretty easy to use except WiFi and volume on TV but we figured it out ... The back yard is perfect for a BBQ or brunch on a great day with great weather. Although it rained on us we had a great brunch indoors.
We spent a long weekend here for a recent concert in Austin. We received an Early Check-In notification, which was nice. When we arrived that afternoon...the house was around 85 degrees inside. The thermostat seemed to have some timer setting that couldn't be adjusted. Another issue is that there are about 8 windows in the front of the home...but not one of them have curtains or blinds. Not only are you exposed to everyone passing outside, but blinds or curtains sure could help in providing some relief from the 100 degree heat outside. Temp eventually went down that night...late. We booked this house, well in advance, for 8 guests total. The home was spacious enough for everyone. However, there were only 4 bath towels and 3 washrags in the entire house. We actually had to go out and buy more towels and washrags for our stay...I've never had to do that before. Kitchen is sparsely stocked...couple wine glasses, couple whiskey glasses...but there were no drinking glasses or coffee cups. Once again, we had to go out and purchase these items. Renter provides air mattresses for the extra guests...but not one of them stays inflated, not one, out of four. Once again, we had to go out and buy an air mattress. Neighborhood is...ok. One of our drivers told us that three years ago he would never pick anyone up in this neighborhood. Though I will say that many of the homes around are being remodeled and are very nice. This house was clean, inside and out...no complaints there. But some of the neighbors seem very sketchy. All in all, we were there with a big group to get out and have some fun...and that we did, none of these things hindered us from having a blast in Austin. But we would definitely look elsewhere when coming back to the city.
This house was very spacious and a great size for our group however we had a few minor callouts on the place that you typically wouldn't have to deal with in a hotel. We spotted a few cockroaches in the living room while hanging out in there one night. I get that it's a Texas Summer and that's common however it was a little off putting. The 2nd thing that was wrong was the air mattresses wouldn't stay inflated. Luckily we only had 1 person sleeping on them so it wasn't the worst but a slight inconvenience. The decor and updates to the house were great and it was close enough to everything we needed to get to whether we were walking or driving.
The house yard needed to be kept up. Hasn't been cut in a very long time.AC and fridge were set on timers but Other than that the overall experience was great. I definitely chose a great house for my birthday weekend!! Hopefully can book it again.
Overall the house was pretty good. Clean, spacious. My only complaint would be that it was a tight squeeze for anything more than 5 people. The master bedroom had a queen, which slept 2. The other two bedrooms slept 2 and 1. They did have air mattresses but they deflated over night so you had to keep blowing it up. Location was close enough to downtown (6th street) but not walking distance as the area could get a little sketchy but we did not feel unsafe at all. Really cute outdoor area and the kitchen and living room area was very homey. They provided multiple towels, toiletries, and everything you need for cooking in the kitchen.
This home is located in east Austin surrounded with plenty to do in walking distance. If you are in town to enjoy Texas BBQ then this home is ideally located; just blocks from Franklin's BBQ voted the best in the state by Texas Monthly. There are plenty more restaurants in the area including Papi Tino's for a lovely dinner or Takoba for Brunch. Additionally the East Side King's trailers: owned by Paul Qui, the winner of Top Chef are very close to the house. This home is a short walk to the Austin Convention Center where the official SXSW events are hosted. The very popular east sixth street bars and music venues are all in walking distance of the home. The East Side Showroom serves up gourmet food and craft cocktails and certainly worth a trip. Just a short drive away from the home is the Darrell K Royal Texas Memorial Stadium, where the University Of Texas hosts there football games. Just near the stadium is University Of Texas, the State Capital and the rest of Downtown Austin.
