Guestbook comments from the manager

My daughter and I wanted a beach that allowed dogs and we heard Cape San Blas is really nice -it is! We were thrilled to have a week at Cape Sunset. The home is clean and comfy and the owner is very helpful and made our stay extra easy and fun. The top floor gives a great view of both the ocean and the bay. I highly recommend this rental to anyone that wants to relax and unwind with family , friends, and pets!

Reviewer Comments:

We had a wonderful stay in Cape San Blas. The house was perfect for our needs! The only complaint that I would have is that it required extra cleaning by me on vacation. We found dog hair on our sheets and other places in the house. We also had to wait to enter the house late at night the day we arrived because it was being cleaned. We loved the location! It was a short walk to the beach every day. The house was set up with the upper level being the main living area and this was great for beautiful views of the Gulf. The kitchen was perfect for our needs. The outside shower was extremely helpful! We enjoyed our stay and plan coming back in the future.

Cape Sunset is the place to be!!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonder stay at Cape Sunset! It was just my wife, my 21 year old son and myself. The property had everything we needed, from the bikes, kayaks, grill and fire pit. We enjoyed sitting out on the decks in the morning and watching the cape come alive. It is very convenient to the state park (thanks for the use of the pass). The house was well furnished and clean. The split level worked for us. So is my son wanted to stay up late we could hang out upstairs without us hearing him. Even though it is on the main road, traffic is minimal and we could not hear cars passing when we were inside. The property manger went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. It was just perfect for us!

stay at Cape Sunset

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay at Cape Sunset. we are used to having a walk to the beach so that was not an issue with us at all. We also enjoyed being able to walk to the bay. We were very glad to have the use of the owner's state park pass and used it a lot! Also went over to St. George and used it there as well.

The house was clean and had a well stocked kitchen. The owner stayed in contact with us all week and readily answered any question that we had.

Reviewer Comments:

Beautiful home but keep in mind this is a third tier home. We are used to staying directly on the beach and because of the reviews, I was convinced it would not be an issue. I was wrong. We did not enjoy the distance at all. The bay access was even worse. The bay actually smelled like raw sewer and we never went back. The bicycles were a nice addition and we did use them. We did take one kayak out once and that was a nice little perk to have as well. It was nice that the home has an additional lot. We did bring our dogs and it was nice to have the extra area for them to explore. The owner of this home was very kind and texted me frequently to check in and offer suggestions and that was very much appreciated. I doubt we will return to the cape but it is a beautiful area.

Owner's Response: The owners work hard to ensure that the listing pictures and descriptions honestly depict Cape Sunset's amenities and location etc. This is not a beach side home and is not advertised as such. They have had many satisfied guests and no complaints about a sewage smell at the bay access point. Perhaps it was due to TS Cindy stirring things up. Please read the description and review the photos carefully before booking. The current guest is happy with the house location and bay access. Thank you for renting.

Reviewer Comments:

Cape Sunset was a great place for the week. Awesome location (right off the main road on the Cape) and close to everything that you need. There are quite a few stairs in the house, but we did not mind. My wife was 5 months pregnant during our stay, and she did not have much problem with the stairs at all. Access points for the beach and the bay are walkable for sure. We choose to go right up the road and drive to the State Park. Great access there and you can literally go back and forth between the bay and the beach very easily. The house had most everything you need, but you should bring some extra rolls of paper towels, a couple of trash bags, etc. from home when you come. Bedrooms were nice and bed was comfortable. Love, love, love the fact that you get to use kayaks, bikes, and all the other many beach toys that come with house. I brought my kayak carrier from home and was able to transport one of the kayaks back and forth to the park. This area has many things to explore and the fishing is awesome! Great place to bring kids, especially if you want to unplug and get them back out into nature. Definitely check out the Sand Dollar cafe in Port St. Joe for some good southern cooking. Property management was very professional and answered all of our questions.

We had a very smooth check in and check out. The owner/manager was very informative and so easy to work with. We were new to the area and enjoyed it immensely! The bay at the state park was so beautiful as was the beach. We were looking for a "not very crowded" beach and we found it here. We would love to come back in the future!
