Guestbook comments from the manager

My daughter and I wanted a beach that allowed dogs and we heard Cape San Blas is really nice -it is! We were thrilled to have a week at Cape Sunset. The home is clean and comfy and the owner is very helpful and made our stay extra easy and fun. The top floor gives a great view of both the ocean and the bay. I highly recommend this rental to anyone that wants to relax and unwind with family , friends, and pets!

We had an amazing stay at Cape Sunset. The home is beautiful, clean and stocked with everything you need and more. There are plenty of extras and perks with this home including the kind owner that is willing to go out of her way to accommodate. No need to rent kayaks or bikes as they are included. We rented a beach cart and added to the fun.. they are allowed in the state park which is just up the road. We have been to CSB the past four summers and this place was the best yet. ???? CSB .. closest thing in the US to Jamaica we have found and our Chloe ???? is welcomed and loves it too.

We loved our stay at Cape Sunset in Cape San Blas, FL. The house was stocked with everything that we needed plus some. The property had bikes, kayaks and beach chairs as well as an outdoor fire pit and gas grill. The property was dog friendly and both of our dogs had a blast. I cooked Thanksgiving dinner at the house and I had everything that I could possibly need for the meal preparation. The floors were not as clean as we had hoped it not a deal breaker by any means.

Owner's Response: We're so happy that you all enjoyed your stay at Cape Sunset! Thank you for letting us know about the floors. We will definitely make sure that our cleaners are aware, and also make an extra effort to correct this in the future. Come back and see us!

Reviewer Comments:

Nicely decorated, very clean house with a large, extremely well stocked kitchen. Perfect beach view from the upper deck, ideal for watching sunsets, stargazing and dining outdoors. We also appreciated that there were three bikes, and a couple of kayaks, and most importantly, our dog was allowed to come along. We'll definitely consider this property for our next trip to Cape San Blas.

Cape Sunset was a wonderful vacation home. The owner was very helpful and the communication was excellent. The kayaks, bike and fishing beach buggy were such a bonus. We wanted to kayak in the bay and not having to bring out kayaks from TN was a huge help.

Comfortable accommodations in great beach country

  • 5 of 5

The house is in a perfect setting located centrally on the Cape. We really enjoyed the fire pit area and the balconies day and night. The walk to the very private beach is 5 minutes or so. Since we go to the beach for the day with all the gear and toys we often drove to public beach access 5 blocks away.

The house and furnishing were great-spotless, comfortable and well appointed in all areas, complete with all sorts of gear to enjoy the offerings of the area. You can tell the owners love to spend time there by how well equipped their home is.

Property management folks were great to work with and even made 2 house calls over the tv/internet problems.

Highly recommend property, thanks for sharing your home!

More than I ever expected

  • 5 of 5

First of all, let me say, the owner of this property went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed. She helped our friends find last second, reasonably priced, accommodations when their camping plans fell through. She also helped us with recommendations for activities, dining suggestions and answered any questions we had. She not only checked up on us throughout the week to make sure things were going well, she contacted us before our arrival and after our departure (to make sure all went well). She was very responsive to any need or concern we had.

The first thing that surprised me was the cleanliness of the house. Most homes, at least the ones I’ve stayed in, have not been as clean as this house was when we arrived. It was a great first impression. The home also had a well-stocked kitchen, which is important to us as we prefer to prepare the majority of our meals while on vacation. It also had a wide range of beach toys, bikes, kayaks, chairs and a grill. We loved the top floor balcony as it was a great place to watch the sun set, drink morning coffee, and gaze at the stars. One night we even watched an amazing lightning storm roll in. The frequency of the lightning was incredible. The weather during the week we were there was perfect. One of our concerns was the distance to the beach from this home. However, this concern was unfounded as we could easily bike the entire family to the nearby access. The location of the home split the distance between ocean and bay access. My second surprise was how interesting the bay was. We thoroughly enjoyed going out on the kayaks to find all sorts of wild life; stingrays, urchins, porpoises, various birds, whelks and even a shark! The only downside to our visit is we did not have time to explore the cape to our satisfaction. We didn’t really get to snorkel in the bay, which we were looking forward to, and that the wilderness portion of St. Joseph Peninsula State Park was closed due to prescribed burning during our visit. However, this just fuels our excitement for the next trip to Cape San Blas. I think this home is a perfect launching spot for adventure on the cape and the owner an excellent guide that cares for her guests. I would recommend this home to anybody that doesn’t need handicap access. I anxiously await our return to Cape San Blas and the Port St Joe area!
