About Nancy and Tom Boone
I'm from California, my husband is from Minnesota, we both lived in Arizona for many years before moving to Colorado. We love the mountains, meadows, forest and lakes that surround our home and love to share this peaceful land with other nature loving people. We look forward to meeting you and having you as our guests.
Nancy and Tom Boone purchased this House in 2013
Why Nancy and Tom Boone chose Mancos
After living in this area of Colorado for many years, in 1999 we purchased this 95 acres at Summit Lake to build our dream home. We love this property because it's close to town, yet has the privacy and the peacefulness of the country. My husband, a home builder for 35 yrs, completed our home in 2002. We have 17 grandchildren that love to come for visits and spend time exploring and playing on this gorgeous land. We have easy access to Summit Lake making kayaking and fishing very convenient. Wildlife viewing is another favorite past time, as this land has deer, elk, fox, coyote, blue heron, eagles, hawks and canadian geese, just to name a few. Our Enchanted Retreat was completed by my husband in July 2013. Come enjoy the beauty of this land, walk our private trails, sit in nature and renew your spirit.
What makes this House unique
This is the perfect spot for your vacation or personal retreat. This is a first class accommodation with plenty of privacy, surrounded by 360 degrees of breath taking views of mountains, lakes, and wild life. A great way to experience the beauty and mystic of the southwest. Fall asleep to the hum of natures finest under a starlit night, impeded by 'no' city noises or unnatural lights. Wake to the sounds of the land coming alive! And so close to so many attractions and destinations. Fresh air, new perspective! What more could you ask for!

An amazingly uplifting, beautiful, and peaceful place
The location atop a knoll on 95 acres of meadow and woods for rambling, surrounded by mountains and lakes is only part of the magic - the architecture, decorating and equipment are uniquely wonderful too. A great kitchen for cooking, lovely large bedroom, indoor and outdoor spaces for relaxing, reading, and conversing. Amazing hand-crafted woodwork throughout and a beautiful big bathroom. Fabulous views all around through the many large windows and from the deck. The surrounding property has numerous trails, many human-made and leading to delightful surprises while others are frequented by mule deer (which we saw repeatedly) and elk (who were more circumspect and remained unseen). We were visited by a pair of bald eagles and assorted smaller birds, including the many ducks and geese populating the lakes to either side of the property. The mountain views are inspiring and we were treated to early snow atop the taller peaks to the NE. The sky was dark enough after moonset to indulge in some photography of the Milky Way. We stayed for 5 days and hardly left the property as it was such a treat to be there.
Georgeous house with water and mountain views
This house was absolutely beautiful and spotless, and we loved the wrap around porch where you could watch the wildlife along with the reservoir and the mountains. The stargazing at night was also amazing. This is one of our favorite vrbo's ever, and I would highly recommend it!
Great Get Away
This is our second time staying at the Enchanted Retreat and hopefully won't be our last. The views are amazing from every window, you won't want to leave! You are within easy driving of the sites in the four corners area but at the same time very secluded. The cottage is immaculate with upscale finishes, a great place to come home to after a day of exploring.
What a wonderful place to call home for a week. We truly enjoyed every single aspect of this home.
Nancy the owner of this retreat is so very kind. She was so pleasant to talk visit with and very helpful with information on surrounding 4 corners area sites and attractions. She keeps the home spotless, grounds and all. Thank you for providing such a peaceful place to rest our heads after long days of site seeing. The beds are so comfy, the air is easy to breath and the views are out of this world amazing!

Best vacation in a long time
My husband and I enjoyed Enchanted Retreat so much we wish we would never have to leave. We left with great memories to share with our families. The location was great, close but not to close. We had good shopping for groceries and pretty much anything else we wanted/needed. Our host we very respectful of our space while we were there, they offered recommendations for anything we had questions on. I have already recommend this place to my daughter and her husband. I hope they get to come out and enjoy this retreat as we did. Also, the retreat had the best stocked kitchen of anywhere we have stayed before. I did not bring one utensil with me and was not sorry for that decision in the slightest. Thank you to our hosts.
Doris and John.
We are an hour from Durango Mountain Ski Resort, about 90 minutes from Telluride Ski Resort and Mountain Village.
Mesa Verde Visitor Center is 18 miles, downtown Durango shopping and Durango/Silverton Train is 45 minutes. Crow Canyon is only 25 minute drive and has great tours twice a week.
We have several hometown Brew Pubs, and great restaurants serving delicious locally grown food.
We also have several antique stores in Dolores, Cortez and Mancos, as well as Durango.
