Brampton House is a private gated family house set in two acres of land with large landscaped gardens. The guests are welcome and free to roam and relax in the garden, The apartment also has small private patio outside the lounge. The private parking on front of the apartment can accomodate up to 4 cars.

Brampton House is located in the pleasant traditional English village of Brampton, Cambridgeshire. It has easy convenient access by Rail & Road for wider travelling and sight seeing.

Now with own children grown up, Nina & Ray, owners of Brampton House are semi retired and the newly furbished Independent, self contained, guest suite with it's own private access, is now offered as a holiday apartment or short stay accommodation for HomeAway. The Guest apartment consists of double room with twin beds or one King bed,+ Single room with Bunk Bed & single bed which comfortably sleeps upto 3 children or may be up to 2 adults. Linen and Towels are supplied. Large lounge (5Mtr x 4.5Mtr semi circular) has T.V.; Sofa, dining table for up to 4 persons. The new shower room is warm and modern. The kitchenette has cooker & Oven; necessary utensils, Fridge freezer, microwave and washing machine. The apartment is Centrally heated with hot & cold water supply. Towels and Bed linen are included.

  • Warm New shower room in brilliant white, has thermostatic shower, cubicle with natural grey green slate tiles; Sink; Toilet, central heating radiator. The shower room is not en suite but is separate. This means use of the shower room is independent.

  • Guest Suite : Centrally heated. Comfortable newly furbished 1 x double bedroom and 1 x Single bedroom to rest after a day out sightseeing and enjoying the surrounding Cambridgeshire Countryside or day visit to London West end or Cambridge University and Cambridge. Double Bedroom door opens into small hallway with separate door to shower room and another door to the kitchenette. The single bedroom door is through the Lounge. The Guest suite is not open plan. Each room area is isolated by doors for those little moments of privacy when required. Please see sketch plan in the photo section. The guests have access to the landscaped large main garden with brook at the end. We appreciate our guests are on sight seeing vacation or short stay with limited time and have much to see and do. We for our part have done the best we can to provide a comfortable relaxing, pleasant atmosphere and accommodation for our guests and hope they have a pleasant stay.

Main home owners have a family friendly pet German Shepherd dog kept at the owners side of home as additional security and peace of mind. The guest suite apartment is completely independent for relaxed vacation. Brampton village with its English Tea house, traditional pubs, restaurants and that unique traditional English relaxed atmosphere of years gone by; yet all modern life facilities (such as supermarkets, gym & sports centre, etc) can be found nearby - provides a perfect vacation for couples of all ages and families alike.

A Home From Home

This is the second time we have stayed here and again it didn't disappoint. We had a very warm welcome and very soon settled in.

The apartment has everything we needed so we felt at home straight away.

Because the weather was good it was lovely to be able to have breakfast in the garden. We saw a variety wildlife and the highlight was a deer strolling across the lawn.

We are already thinking about our next years holiday and if we come to this area it we will hope to stay again.

Thank you Nina & Ray for another relaxing holiday.

Quiet, secluded flat. Very comfortable, a perfect place for a break.

A very nice flat, well maintained with lovely gardens. The perfect spot for a restful break or as a base for exploring the surrounding areas. Lounge/diner area provides a perfect area for family time and all beds were comfortable and inviting so if a lie in is on the cards the peaceful surroundings allows this. My 3 children wanted a 'sit and chill' day on the Sunday and this flat provided the "at home" feeling required to make it a lovely, lazy day. The owners are two of the nicest people one could hope to meet.

Served our purposes admirably

Nice week spent in the area primarily to visit family. The property was as described and the owners were most welcoming. It had all the facilities we required and was well maintained.

Ummm what to say?!

The property itself is a nice size. The grounds are fabulous. It's lovely that you can explore them. The location is perfect. The house is set back from the road so nice and quite

Downside: the accomodation is adjoined to the main house! The owners seemed to be directly behind the adjoining door, every evening from 9-11pm making lots of noise, banging about, talking loudly, clashing of crockery etc didn't seem to have respect for their holiday visitors in the adjoining cottage, esp with young children!

There was also the dog! Albeit a lovely dog I'm sure, but again, the dog was directly behind the adjoining door, so every time you walked passed or you were doing something down that end of the kitchen, the dog did nothing but bark constantly.

The owners did eventually move the dog or tell the dog off but this was a daily occupancy at any time of the day or night! They also tied the dog up outside the front of the property, so again, as you were coming and going from the property the dog did nothing but bark profusely. Which the owners ignored!!!

Then there was the loud banging round, up and down stairs, what sounded like furniture moving, door slamming etc right above the holiday cottage, I'm not talking day time either, I'm talking night time. As in late night / early hours of the morning......even kept me awake from 1-3 am with the noise.

The owners very much seem to be late risers, therefore mornings were very quite but as the day and night went on they got louder, really not good when you have a two year needing to sleep, a 10 year old gymnast needing to sleep as she had hours of practice during the day, an elderly lady and a disabled lady all in need ofa good nights sleep, sadly it was hard to sleep due to the noise.

The accomodation itself also reminds me some thing of faulty towers! Lamps held on a wall by a hook and gaffer tape! Bed head bored made from a peice of 2x2 wood simply screwed to the wall, not shaved down or painted, over hanging with a peice of matlerial on it. Dressing table made from a peice of old worktop screwed to the wall but not fitted properly! Wall lighting attached in their own unique way from using the existing ceiling light! Cracks in wall. In need of a full over haul of painting and cleaning. I was shocked when dropping something on the floor of the kitchen, to see the cooker full off cobwebs and dust underneath it!

The list could go on. Overall, could be fantastic if money spent on it. I'm sure the owners lovely

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review. The television series, ‘faulty towers’ you point to is based on hotel service with funny staff. Regret we do not run a hotel nor supply any staff or servants. For hotels you may visit, websites such as, Ours is a HomeAway self catering apartment, where guests like to feel at home, with its homely freedom to cook, eat, sleep hours as they please, come and go at leisure; away from the formal hotel room atmosphere with its time schedules and high rates. The apartment is strictly non smoking. Any inconvenience to our guests for their smoking habits or late evening smoking outside the apartment is unavoidable. Cobwebs behind the cooker! That is a new one! We shall certainly note that. The dog is a family friendly, affectionate, intelligent Alsatian; however he is kept on a long lead for guest privacy. We note your financial advice, the rate of £390 / week for four persons, with homely freedom and amenities is low. We shall certainly raise our rates and investment from next season. Thank you once again.

Brampton House is a private gated house on two acres of private land in the village of Brampton, Brampton House's independent Guest suite is offered to HomeAway visitors. The guests have access to free private parking on enclosed front drive and access to the large private gardens. WiFi internet access is free for our guests.

The village of Brampton, is a pleasant English country village with a traditional English Tea house, many pubs, restaurants and other amenities. Within walking distance of Brampton House are The Black Bull and The Dragoon, both have Restaurant with Bar and provide traditional food and drinks with pleasant local atmosphere. About 3km away from the house is the very popular Brampton Mill Restaurant; it's surrounding atmosphere aids relaxation with picturesque river and beauty of the area.

Happy visitors from overseas countries include, The Netherlands, Germany, Spain, The U.S.A; Australia, New Zealand, China, Scandinavia, India and Brazil. The apartment has especially been popular with American tourists visiting their friends and family based in and around Cambridgeshire. Brampton House's convenient location to world renowned Papworth Hospital has served many visiting families.

Brampton House accommodation is well placed for pleasant countryside drives, walks, cycling and tourist attractions. Cambridge city is about 20-30minutes by car. Cambridge is famous for its University, culture, theatres & history. You may take a scenic route using the new guided bus route from Brampton to Cambridge direct.

Nearby towns include: Papworth, Ely (famous for its Ely Cathedral), Bedford and Peterborough for their history, shopping and tourist attractions. Brampton is conveniently located with good road and rail links for wider travel, for example the local Huntingdon Train Station is 3km away from Brampton House. Huntingdon to London Kings Cross (the heart of London) is approximately 55minutes by train. Off peak all day car parking at Huntingdon Train station is £5.50 / day at present. Tourists enjoy visiting London by day and then returning to relax, eat & drink in pleasant Cambridgeshire. There are cheap off-peak train passes with unlimited bus & underground travel - ideal for family outings. Alternatively, you can visit by car using the A1 road to London which only takes one hour.

There are many opportunities for a variety of shopping. Peterborough, Cambridge and Bedford all have many shopping centres to fill the needs of high street fashion. On the other hand, why not visit the famous Oxford Street, Westfield Shopping Centre or world-famous Harrods luxury department store, all of which are an hour away by train.

The upmarket Brampton Park Golf Club proves very popular and is open to visitors. It is within short walking distance of Brampton House (about 1km). Even for those just wishing to relax and enjoy the country air and life, the atmosphere at the golf club is welcoming. After a game of golf, you could dine in the on-site restaurant at a good reasonable price.

Milton Keynes which is 30 minutes away by car has ‘Xscape’ the very famous and exhilarating indoor ski slope as well as opportunities to snowboard.

Local to this area we have Grafham Water Centre with many activities such as Sailing, Windsurfing, Climbing, Cycling, Rock Climbing and Archery. Air displays and special events at the Imperial War Museum at Duxford can provide a deeper insight into history. The Museum is about 20 - 30 minutes by car from the guest suite at Brampton house.
