Guestbook comments from the owner

This apartment is above and beyond what you would ever expect. There are actually 2 apartments, of which I stayed in the larger 1 bedroom. The view looks onto the main street in the Old Town/fortified city of Dubrovnik. The views of all the activity leave you feeling connected and loving the city.

My experinance: The owner of the apartment allowed us to check in a bit early and escorted us from the Bus stop and delivered us to the airport for a small fee. The apartment had all new appliances, washer and dryer, cable TV, well insulated windows to keep out street activity, all new furnitire that included a comfy sleeper sofa, a large bed, dining table in the living room, stove and partially stocked shelves with Coffee/tea/water. I cant imagine a more perfect place to stay, especially after traveling and staying in hotels, you really feel at home in this destination tourist city. The only thing to note would be that this apartment is on the 3rd floor with lots of stairs. This is fine as long as you dont have someone who cannot take stairs- there are no elevator lifts. But if you can get someone to carry you and your stuff you'll be fine!

I very much plan on staying again!!

Charming and Central

  • 5 of 5

Kate arranged a transfer for us from the Airport to the Apartment and met us as the entrance to old town. A quick walk and we were at the apartment just off the main strada. You do have to bring your luggage up a couple steep flights of stairs, but the 1 bedroom apartment we had arranged for 5 nights was just perfect. Very clean, Kate even came in during the week with Fresh towels and did some cleaning. Well appointed to cook a meal or just have breakfast with coffee and a pastry, the best just down the street. The apartment overlooks the main strada where all the activity is. The charm and comfort of this apartment was perfect for our stay. We are used to staying in hotels, but are sold on apartments moving forward. This apartment was the first of 4 on our recent trip, but this was our favorite because of the proximity to everything and the overall age and charm. We hope to go back some day and would choose this apartment again. It can be little noisy because it is right in the middle of all the activity, but when the windows and shutters are closed, you can drown out a lot of the noise our if you are like us, we travel with earplugs.

Excellent location and ambience

  • 5 of 5

Communication with Kate was e cellent and she was waiting for us after a very long flight from Australia at the Pile Gate and escorted us nto the apartment. We couldn't have asked for more with the location being right on the Stradun. The apartment is well appointed with a separate bedroom and queen size bed and the divan was already set up for us, including a few goodies on the fridge plus tea and coffee. Although with all the mod considered the apartment still retains its charm of exposed stone and of course open windows onto the Stradun to soak up all the sights, sounds and smells. Highly recommend this apartment for your stay in the old city.

Two U.S. parents and their kids on a vacation of a lifetime!

  • 5 of 5

We ended our family vacation in Croatia by driving down the coast to Dubrovnik. Miro met us with our luggage and helped us navigate through Old Town to the apartment. A very gracious host with a very beautiful home. He was extra kind to point out particular things to do and restaurants to enjoy. The apartment was just perfect for the four of us and comfortable. The bathroom was always warm but Croatia was also experiencing a heatwave during our visit so no blame there. We highly recommend this apartment for all types of visitors.

Lovely apartment in the heart of the Old City

  • 5 of 5

We arrived during the inaugural Dubrovnik half-marathon so had to trundle our luggage along the run course because of road closures. But Jelena arrived on cue to help with our bags and lead us to the apartment, where Kate was waiting to greet us. Likewise, when we left, Jelena was on hand at 4.30am to help us cart our gear to the taxi. Great customer service box ticked.

The apartment itself was everything we'd hoped for: well-appointed, spotlessly clean, lots of towels; a fresh and pleasant decor. I'd give them a gold star. Accessed by steep stairs, it is not suitable for the infirm, as noted in the description, but we lugged our big bike bags up! The apartment is very well insulated with double-glazing and double shutters - this is important for blocking out noise from the rowdy Irish pub below (just make sure you also close the staircase door and windows before you go to bed). However, the area around Orlando's column is a public performance zone and NOTHING will block out a Led Zep cover band at full blast! If you are highly sensitive to noise, then the bustling Old City probably isn't for you.

As to the attractions: Throwing open the shutters and looking down the Stradun to the City Belltower (and on our first day, the marathon finish line), was exciting. All of the Old City's famous landmarks are within strolling distance but definitely use the local buses for travelling further afield. My favourite spots were the beautiful Franciscan Cloisters and the views from the Wall . I recommend the cable car too. We went at dusk and it was spectacular. There are hundreds of restaurants - take your pick - the food is consistently good and restaurant staff tend to be friendly. No so the staff in famous tourist attractions! Winkling information out of them can be like squeezing blood out of a stone. An abusive ticket scanner on The Wall and a hostile 'assistant' in the Old Pharmacy (both female) were probably the rudest people I have encountered in my life!

To finish on a positive note, yes I would definitely recommend this property to friends and relatives!

Bel appartement dans le centre historique

  • 4 of 5

Appartement correspondant à la description, propre, avec une très belle vue et très bien situé.

Seuls inconvénients: mal insonorisé vis à vis de l'appartement mitoyen et petit ballon d'eau chaude ne permettant pas de profiter de la baignoire.
