Comfortable 'Kings Down' mattresses, gas log fireplace and inviting decor complement a fabulous natural view. Enjoy breakfast on the second floor porch, perhaps sharing the view with deer, hummingbirds and butterflies! Truly a four-season treat! Walking distance to the Appalachian Trail; skiing, swimming, golf, hiking, climbing, rafting, zip-line, Hot Springs and Asheville arts (30 minute drive) nearby!
I am an Asheville native, now living outside of Charlotte, and purchased this property for my mountain 'fix'. I love to sing, hike, cook, enjoy movies, and bop around in my Miata -- all of which can be done at this great mountain retreat!
Pat Griset or Steve Parker purchased this condo in 2008
Who can beat this view of the Blue Ridge Mountains, this close to the A.T., at this price?! Our friends like to use this as a base of operations for hiking, skiing, 'zipping' and rafting on the French Broad River. To warm those well-exercised muscles, don't forget the hot springs in Hot Springs, NC (20 miles away). There's also golf and tennis for those who are so inclined, and Appalachian art and music festivals at nearby Mars Hill College. ;-)
Fall foliage, Blue Ridge Mountain views, close encounters of the deer kind! Seriously, the deer love watching us when we walk; bird watchers catch and tag birds for study on the bald above the lodge. Renters have been known to duck out from the ski area (Wolf Ridge) for a quick lunch and a nap back at the condo before returning to the slopes. :-)
