Ours is a 17th Century Trullo, beautifully restored and furnished in the classic 'Arte Povera' style. We call our Trullo 'Casa Adriatica'.
Nestled in the beautiful Puglia country-side, the property sits on 2.5 acres of land, with a gate and ample space for parking. Surrounded by olive trees, vineyards and fruit trees, here you will find peace and tranquility to get away from it all (although we do have wifi if you really want to take a peek at your social feed, or e-mails!)
Eat your meals out on the airy patio, with views of the surrounding towns of Cisternino and the 'White City' of Ostuni in the distance, perfect for a romantic getaway, or a relaxing family holiday.
There are 2 bedrooms. The master bedroom comes with a king size bed, while the second bedroom can be set up as either two twin beds, or a queen size bed.
The property is equipped with a full kitchen with dishwasher and a small washing machine in the bathroom for maximum convenience. There is a nice sized TV, a DVD player, an Apple TV set top box, a collection of books left by other guests, and of course wi-fi.
Cisternino is one of the prettiest towns in southern Italy, and is around a 10 minute drive from the property, or the magical 'White City' of Ostuni is around 25 minutes away. Beautiful sandy beaches can be found on either the Adriatic (20-25 minutes away) or Mediterranean coasts (60-90 minutes depending on which beach you want to get to) and, whether you love nature, history, or both, there are lots of interesting places to visit.
Much of southern Puglia (or Apulia as it is also known) was at one time part of 'Magna Grecia' (Greater Greece) and the historic influence is still visible in some of the small villages surrounding the historic city of Lecce, itself 2000 years old and boasting a beautiful Cathedral. Lecce is around 90 minutes away, and the ceramics centre of Grottaglie, famous for the Rooster design seen on many plates and jugs in the area, is around 30 minutes away.
Casa Adriatica is a perfect getaway for all seasons - central heating with built-in radiators kicks in during the winter season, and portable heaters are also provided to keep your feet toasty warm! Christmas and New Year are wondrous times to visit with local 'Presepi Viventi' - living Nativity displays with local actors and volunteers, many free to attend - transporting you to the time of Jesus' birth.
For stays of 2 weeks or more, we include a weekly clean, including a change of linen and towels and you can choose from a number of optional extras to welcome you on your arrival, including starter provisions (e.g. milk, bread, water, eggs, etc.) and/or a selection of locally produced foods and wines.
